ABSTRACTWorldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX), based on IEEE 802.16, provides first-mile wireless access for broadband users and is capable of satisfying the Quality of Service (QoS) requirements of voice, video and data traffic (triple-play services). This paper proposes two WiMAX hybrid schedulers, developed by integration of homogeneous schedulers, for providing QoS to triple-play services. The Markovian model is solved analytically to derive various performance metrics, which are then compared with an existing scheduler. The splitting of FTP traffic, before scheduling, provides improved throughput as compared to the proposed first hybrid scheduler, making this an exclusive component of the proposed second hybrid scheduler. The results show that the second proposed model provides an improvement of mandatory QoS parameters; reduction in voice traffic mean queuing delay by 68.18%, and improvement in FTP traffic throughput by 67.27% as compared to the first designed model. The first considered scheduler gives high inter-class fairness; however, it does not provide satisfactory QoS performance. The proposed hybrid schedulers are better in overall performance than other schedulers proposed recently, as they not only satisfy the QoS demands of different types of services but also improve the fairness among services. 相似文献

This paper investigates rheological and mechanical properties of poly(trimethylene terephthalate) (PTT) in presence of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs). Morphological characterization by scanning electron microscope and transmission electron microscope showed uniform distribution of MWCNTs in the PTT matrix. Incorporation of MWCNTs into PTT matrix resulted in higher complex viscosity (η), storage (G′) and loss modulus (G″) than those of neat PTT, especially in low-frequency region. The dramatic increase in melt viscosity of PTT observed upon incorporation of MWCNTs in the range of 0.25–1 wt% could be due to the formation of interconnected network of MWCNTs in the polymer matrix, and thus, this can be regarded as rheological percolation threshold concentration. Cole–Cole plot showed change in slope and also shift in G′ versus G″ plot, which suggested change in microstructure upon MWCNT addition. The reinforcing effect of MWCNTs was also confirmed by dynamic mechanical analysis, where, by adding CNTs, a noticeable increase in storage modulus of PTT was observed. However, addition of MWCNTs showed no significant effect on the tensile properties of PTT due to poor interfacial interaction between CNTs and polymer matrix. 相似文献

The wax precipitated from oil mixtures primarily consists of C18 to C36 (macro crystalline waxes) or C30 to C60 (micro crystalline waxes), both made of aligned paraffinic and naphthenic molecules. Paraffins have significant impact on wax deposition characteristics as paraffin waxes react and respond easily to temperature changes due to its straight chain structure. In this paper, 12 light crudes of different origin were analyzed by DSC. Method was standardized for the determination of WAT in light crudes and these were found to have WAT ranging from 10 to 30°C. Wax content is proportional to enthalpy of crystallization (ΔH) and the ΔH ranges from 3 to 9 J/g. WAT and wax content do not follow the same trend which is understandable as these parameters depends not only on the concentration and molecular weight of the waxes but also on the chemical nature of both waxy and non waxy part of the crude oil. To understand the trend in WAT, these crudes were also analyzed for paraffinic carbon (Cp), Saturates and CH2/CH3 ratio by NMR spectroscopy and carbon number distribution by HT-GC. It was observed that WAT correlates fairly well with CH2/CH3 ratio which is in an indicator of normal paraffin content as WAT depends primarily on the nature / type of paraffins. This study was conducted to compare the effect of lipids removal using supercrital-CO2 extraction and organic solvents (hexane and isopropanol) from hard and soft wheat flour varieties. Flours were evaluated for physicochemical properties (protein, ash, hunter colour), sodium dodecyl sulphate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, foaming properties, water and oil absorption capacity, pasting, farinographic and dynamic rheology. Protein content of flours increased after defatting and supercritical fluid extracted (SCE) wheat flours showed the highest increase. SCE flours showed higher peak viscosity than native and hexane extracted (HE) and isopropyl alcohol extracted (IPAE) flours. Functional properties improved upon defatting and the highest increase in functional properties was observed for SCE flours. Empirical and fundamental rheological measurements were affected by defatting and SCE flours showed the highest change in visco-elasticity. SC-CO2 was proved better alternative technique over conventional organic solvent methods to remove lipids from flours that brought desirable changes in some functional properties. 相似文献
