The effect of point defects on the Curie temperature (Tc) of LiNbO3 (LN) was investigated by combining Tc measurements with an analysis of the defect structures of LN doped with impurities having various valences. The data show that Tc of congruent LN increases with the impurity concentration up to around 3 and 2 mol% for divalent and trivalent impurities, respectively, whereas it decreases continuously with increased concentrations of tetravalent impurities. These Tc variations were examined with respect to the defect structures of impurity‐doped LN, which are expressed in the form chemical formulae using Kröger‐Vink notation. The defect structures of divalent and trivalent impurity‐doped LN are and , respectively (NbLi: Nb at Li sites; VLi: vacancies at Li sites, MLi: impurities at Li sites, and Li/Nb = the congruent ratio). The defect structure in the case of tetravalent impurities is . Analyses of the defect structures indicated that the NbLi concentration decreases with divalent or trivalent impurity doping, which increases Tc. In contrast, the NbLi concentration increases with tetravalent impurity doping, which decreases Tc. In addition, the divalent or trivalent impurity concentrations at which the NbLi concentration becomes zero were found to correspond to the concentrations at which Tc is maximized, suggesting that Tc of LN depends on the NbLi concentration.  相似文献

Previous work has elucidated that the wall slip velocity and viscosity of polymer melts influence the thickness uniformity of blown film. The present study investigates the effects of the stress dependence of wall slip, the shear thinning and the density on the uniformity. We have prepared high‐density polyethylenes with a variety of molecular weight distributions, which have different rheological properties. Examination of the thickness uniformity of their blown film has shown that the uniformity is correlated with wall slip velocity, the stress dependence of the velocity, melt viscosity, shear thinning and density; the coefficient of the correlation is determined to be 0.990. The reason why the stress dependence of wall slip and the shear thinning affect the uniformity is explained in terms of polymer melt flow behavior in a die, while the effect of density is interpreted considering bubble fluctuation in the blow‐up process. A series of poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) blends with rigid ladderlike polyphenylsilsesquioxane (PPSQ) were prepared at weight ratios of 100/0, 95/5, 90/10, 85/15, and 80/20 by solution casting and then hot‐pressing. Their rheological properties have been studied under both dynamic shear and uniaxial elongation conditions. Their rheological properties depend on the compositions. The storage modulus, G′, loss modulus, G″, and dynamic shear viscosity, η*, of the PMMA/PPSQ 95/5 blend were slightly lower than those of pure PMMA. However, the values of G′, G″, and η* for the other PMMA/PPSQ blends are higher than those of PMMA. The G′ values increase with an increase in PPSQ content from 5% through 15% PPSQ at low frequencies and then drop as the PPSQ content increases to 20%. Uniaxial elongational viscosity (ηE) data demonstrate that PMMA/PPSQ blends exhibit slightly weaker (5% PPSQ) and much weaker (10% PPSQ) strain‐hardening than PMMA. In contrast, the PMMA/PPSQ 85/15 blend shows strain‐softening. Neither strain‐hardening nor strain‐softening was observed in the 80/20 blend. The special rheological properties for the 95/5 blend is probably due to a decrease in PMMA entanglements brought by the specific PMMA–PPSQ interactions. Rheological properties of PMMA/PPSQ blends with higher PPSQ content (≥10%) are mainly affected by formation of hard PPSQ particles. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A systematic study of changing the reflectivity of a Si/SiO/sub 2/ mirror for 1.3- mu m GaInAsP/InP surface-emitting lasers is discussed. An effective threshold current of 4.5 mA at 77 K continuous operation has been obtained. This indicates a possibility of a submilliampere threshold at 77 K and approximately=20 mA at 300 K by optimizing the mirror reflectivity.<>  相似文献

We describe an unusual case of acute myocardial infarction due to vasospasm in a 13-year-old boy. He was admitted to our hospital with severe congestive heart failure and shock. He had experienced a feeling of chest oppression with dyspnea while running, which grew worse. He then lost consciousness and was brought by ambulance to our intensive care unit. He had had similar but milder episodes of chest oppression months earlier. The family history revealed that his father had died suddenly from hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and that his grandmother also had hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. On admission, the patient was bathed in a cold sweat, his pulse was weak, and his blood pressure was too low to measure. Coarse crackling and wheezing were audible in both lung fields. Administration of catecholamine and intra-aortic balloon pumping failed to stabilize the hemodynamic variables, but percutaneous cardiopulmonary support proved to be lifesaving. Coronary arteriography performed during his convalescence showed on evidence of atherosclerosis. The acetylcholine provocation test ultimately revealed a diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction due to vasospasm.  相似文献

The effects of the co-administration of the serotonin (5-HT) 1A receptor antagonists NAN-190 or (+)-WAY100135 with a selective 5-HT reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) citalopram on conditioned fear stress (CFS)-induced freezing behavior, which is the animal model of anxiety, were examined. The inhibitory effects of co-administration of NAN-190 (0.1-10 mg/kg) with citalopram on CFS-induced freezing were potent; in particular, at 0.1 and 0.25 mg/kg, NAN-190 significantly enhanced the effect of citalopram alone. At 0.1 mg/kg, (+)-WAY100135 also markedly enhanced the inhibitory effect of citalopram on freezing behavior. These findings suggest that 5-HT1A receptor antagonist, particularly at low doses, enhances the antifreezing effect of citalopram by blocking the autoreceptor-mediated negative feedback mechanisms of the 5-HT neuron. These experimental results concur with clinical findings that 5-HT1A receptor antagonist pindolol potentiates the effect of 5-HT reuptake inhibitors.  相似文献

We tested two positive selection techniques for separation of CD34+ cells from bone marrow and analyzed the yields of CD34+ cells, BFU-E, CFU-GM, CFU-MK and LTC-IC after selection and expansion. An immunoadsorption procedure (CellPro) and an immunomagnetic (Baxter) CD34+ cell separation method were employed to purify the same bone marrow samples from seven normal subjects. Mean yields of CFU-GM and CFU-MK and absolute numbers of LTC-ICs were not different in the two purified cell populations. In contrast, the mean recovery of BFU-E was significantly lower for the immunoadsorption (21 +/- 14%) than for the immunomagnetic technique (44 +/- 27%). After separation, CD34+ cells were evaluated in 10-day liquid cultures for their expansion capacity in terms of total cells and progenitors. The expansion capacity of progenitors such as CFU-GM, CFU-MK and especially BFU-E selected by immunoadsorption was higher than the capacity of progenitors obtained by immunomagnetism, although final total and progenitor cell numbers are similar. Our results suggest that the populations separated by the two techniques differ mainly in the expansion capacity of progenitors and in the recovery of BFU-E after the selection procedure. These differences between two methods, which already are widely employed in research and in clinical transplantation, should be taken into account when considering the aims of the experiments.  相似文献

Lasing characteristics of GaInAsP/InP buried heterostructure butt-jointed built-in distributed Bragg reflector integrated lasers (BH-BJB-DBR lasers) intended for dynamic single mode operation in the wavelength range of1.5-1.6 mum are given. In the first section, the coupling property between the active region and the butt-jointed external waveguide region is calculated to show the possibility of large fabrication tolerance. A coupling coefficient of more than 95 percent is estimated. Secondly, the GaInAsP/InP integrated lasers were fabricated and tested in the view of the static characteristics and the axial mode selection property. Lateral mode control was achieved by the use of a buried heterostructure, so that the axial and lateral modes were maintained to a fixed single mode. The lasers thus fabricated were operated in CW conditions at room temperature with a threshold current of about 100 mA. Single longitudinal mode operation was observed with a temperature dependence of about 0.13 nm/deg with the temperature range of more than50-65degC at around 0°C. Differential quantum efficiency as high as 13 percent/ facet was obtained for the laser with power output of more than 5 mW/facet. The output spectrum below threshold indicated the strong wavelength selectivity of the DBR region, and the net gain difference between the main DBR mode and the adjacent submode was measured to be about 6 cm-1. No appreciable degradation and change of characteristics have been observed even after CW operation of more than 9770 h at 20°C.  相似文献

In our department, half of 100 consecutive lung cancer resection cases were over the age of 70 years. In the same 100 patients, nineteen cases had multiple primary cancers. Sixteen cases had double, two cases had triple, one case had quadruple primary cancers. The incidence rate of multiple primary cancers involving the lung was 19%. This incidence of 19% is higher than the others ever reported in Japan. It was concluded, when lung cancer patients were elder, that there was increasment in the frequency of multiple cancer cases involving lung, and there was a high possibility of the occurrence of 2nd and 3rd primary cancers.  相似文献
