India’s approach to development has always been a combination of ‘pro-poor growth’ strategies. In spite of that, majority urban population has remained deprived from basic necessity of human life. In an effort to overhaul this stagnation, the country has consciously shifted its development ideology to inclusive growth in 11th Five-Year Plan 2007. Although the plan did not define inclusive growth, but initiates a debate on the significance of inclusive growth with earlier policy approaches. Surface Electro-Myography (SEMG) signal plays key roles for clinical measurement. The strength of this signal at different instant of time and at different places of our body shows the respective muscle strength and identify if any types of muscles fatigue occurs or not. This is useful for sports personnel’s and especially for amputees and different orthopedic patients. The surgeon should have a vivid knowledge about the muscle strength of any part of human body. So a portable hand carrying device is necessary. In this paper we want to illustrate a proposed system which can indicate the strength as well as display the RMS value of the collected Electro-Myography signal on a proposed trainer board consists of a LED bar which indicates the respective strength of the signal in volts. The following system has also a provision to display the strength pattern in a PC in Lab View environment. The allowable capacity of conventional roof-to-wall metal connectors is based on results of unidirectional component tests that do not simulate triaxial aerodynamic loading effects induced by high-wind events. The results of wind and wind-driven rain tests conducted at a full-scale facility were used to create a database on aerodynamic and aerohydrodynamic load effects on roof-to-wall connectors. Based on these results, three axial mean force components (triaxial mean loads) were combined into a series of resultant mean force vectors. A new test protocol was then developed for roof-to-wall connectors under simulated triaxial loading as opposed to simple uniaxial loading. The findings confirm that current testing methods tend to overestimate the actual load capacities of metal connectors. The performance of a nonintrusive roof-to-wall connector system using fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) ties was also tested and compared with that of a traditional metal connector under simulated aerodynamic loads. The test results demonstrated the validity of FRP ties as an alternative to hurricane clips for use in timber roof-to-wall connection systems. 相似文献

A series of aromatic multiblock copolymers based on alternating segments of hydrophilic sulfonated polysulfone (PSU) and hydrophobic polyfluoroether (PFE) were prepared and characterized as proton exchange membranes. PSU precursor blocks were synthesized by polycondensation of dichlorodiphenylsulfone and resorcinol, and PFE precursor blocks were prepared by combining decafluorobiphenyl and isopropylidenediphenol. After preparation of the multiblock copolymers via a mild coupling reaction of the precursor blocks, the resorcinol units of the PSU blocks were selectively and almost completely sulfonated under mild reaction conditions using trimethylsilylchlorosulfonate. Transparent and robust membranes with different PSU-PFE copolymer compositions and ion-exchange capacities were cast from solution. Atomic force microscopy of the membranes revealed a distinct nanophase separated morphology. At 80 °C, the proton conductivity reached 10 mS cm−1 under 65% relative humidity and 100 mS cm−1 under fully hydrated conditions. 相似文献

The operation of HVDC converters is discrete in nature. It is, therefore, proper to take into account the discrete behavior of converter operation while developing the system model for small signal stability analysis. This paper presents the development of such a system model, which also explicitly includes the effect of phase angle of respective AC bus voltages. A modular approach has been adopted for the formulation of complete state space system model. Utilizing the system model, the stability is examined in the controller parameter plane using eigenvalue analysis. This paper relates to the development of prosthetic myoelectric hand that performs many functions of real human hand like opening and closing of fingers and wrist rotation. This dual movement of prosthetic hand is controlled by a single DC motor. Below-elbow amputee persons with missing limbs can append this prosthetic hand with the available stump and can do some of the hand operations with multiple degrees of freedom by voluntary activation of muscles using electromyogram (EMG) electrodes. To rehabilitate such a person, facilities like opening, closing, grasping, and lifting objects of different weight with variable grip force are available like natural hand. The main design consideration includes degrees of freedom, number of actuators, power of actuators, reliability, electronic control, light weight, economic viability, wrist rotation, variable grip force pattern, and ease of attachment with limb. Use of electromagnetic clutches along with the coupling logic of DC motor and microcontroller based on grip force generation and wrist rotation based on EMG signals imparts a new function to the device. Widespread damage to tile roofs over the last few years, even for weaker hurricanes, has raised concerns regarding construction practices and codes. An experimental study was carried out for clay and concrete roof tiles with adhesive- and mortar-set attachments using a “Wall of Wind” apparatus. The estimated peak 3-s gust wind speeds achieved in the simulations were 31.5 and 57.9?m/s (70.5 and 129.5?mi/h), as defined by the ASCE 7 Standard. Tests were conducted for winds from the 0° direction and subsequently, unless the roofs suffered significant damage, from the 50° direction. The research objectives were to assess roof-tile performance and observe failure modes in simulated hurricane conditions, and obtain wind pressure data allowing comparisons of measured pressures with pressures for components and cladding specified in the ASCE 7-05 Standard. Comparisons of pressure time histories for different tile systems showed that the external pressure on a tile is strongly influenced by the surface geometry of the tile. The concrete tile roof with mortar set showed the best performance among all tested roofs. Workmanship was found to be a major factor to roof-tile performance. Test results also suggested that the ASCE 7-05 pressure coefficient values are conservative for assessing wind loads acting on individual tiles. 相似文献

This present study is a preliminary exploration of the affinity between a carboxylic model drug ibuprofen and aluminum hydroxide. Ibuprofen was comilled with aluminum hydroxide in different weight ratios in the solid state and was characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray powder diffractometry (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and in vitro dissolution studies. XRD and SEM studies indicated complete interaction of ibuprofen with aluminum hydroxide and complete amorphization of aluminum hydroxide–ibuprofen complexed salt as well, on comilling with aluminum hydroxide at 1:2 ratio. FTIR data showed the disappearance of acid carbonyl peak with the appearance and the corresponding increase in absorbance of new signal at 1,682 cm?1 in the 1:1 and 1:2 ibuprofen–aluminum hydroxide-comilled powder. The accompanied increase in the absorbance of carboxylate peak in the ibuprofen–aluminum hydroxide physical mixture, and 1:0.1, 1:0.5, 1:1, and 1:2 (IBApm, and IB1A0.1, IB1A0.5, IB1A1, and IB1A2, respectively) comilled powder indicated an acid–base reaction between ibuprofen and aluminum hydroxide. On storage at 40°C and 75% relative humidity (RH) for 10 weeks, XRD study showed the absence of reversion to the crystalline state and FTIR data revealed continued increase of new signal at 1,682 cm?1 relative to carboxylic acid peak and no reappearance of carboxylic acid peak. In vitro dissolution studies revealed that the percent release of ibuprofen from the aluminum hydroxide-comilled powder is in the following order: IB1A2 < IB1A1 < ibuprofen crystal < ibuprofen milled alone < IB1A0.1 < IB1A0.5. Aluminum metal cation might have interacted to form a complex through the carboxyl and carbonyl groups of ibuprofen. Improved dissolution of drug associated with IB1A0.1 and IB1A0.5 is because of the absence of a new signal at 1,682 cm?1 and improved amorphization of the drug to some extent. Dissolution of drug affected in IB1A2 and IB1A1 may be because of the insoluble stable complex formation. 相似文献

In this study, Cu‐loaded Santa Barbara amorphous (SBA)‐15 catalysts were synthesized by impregnation method and further used for catalytic wet peroxidation (CWPO) of pyridine from aqueous solution using hydrogen peroxide as oxidant. The synthesized catalysts have been characterized by Brunauer–Emmett–Teller surface area: temperature‐programmed reduction, H2‐chemisorption, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and field emission scanning electron microscopy. Characterization results indicate good dispersion of Cu species inside the porous structure of SBA‐15. The effect of various parameters such as Cu loading on SBA‐15, pH, catalyst dose, H2O2 concentration, and temperature have been studied for their effect on CWPO of pyridine. More than 97% pyridine removal and 92% total organic carbon removal was achieved at optimum condition.
