The authors present a GPU-based method for generating and verifying cutter paths for numerically controlled milling. A CAM system based on this technology is now employed in production at Mazda Motor Corporation for manufacturing stamping dies. Collinear magnetooptic interaction with magnetostatic surface waves (MSSW) can be used for wavelength‐selective switches, wavelength filters, and frequency shifters in wavelength‐division‐multiplexed (WDM) photonic networks and optical processing systems. The switching efficiency can be improved with a multilayer waveguide structure. To investigate the dynamic switching characteristics, the FDTD method was employed. The mode conversion between TE and TM mode was successfully demonstrated with FDTD simulation. The filtering characteristics were also evaluated. The FDTD results were compared with the result from the coupled mode theory, and good agreement was obtained. Switching of an optical pulse was also demonstrated by the FDTD method. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The critical conditions in which the classical Flory-Stockmayer gelation theory (F-S theory) is applicable to monovinyl-divinyl copolymerizations were pursued in detail. The resulting prepolymers or precursors of ideal crosslinked-polymers were characterized as standard polymers for the discussion of network formation in free-radical monovinyl-divinyl copolymerizations. Methyl methacrylate was copolymerized with a small amount of ethylene dimethacrylate, butylene dimethacrylate or nonapropyleneglycol dimethacrylate in the presence of lauryl mercaptan, a chain transfer agent to reduce the occurrence of a thermodynamic excluded volume effect and intramolecular crosslinking as the primary and secondary factors, respectively, for the greatly delayed gelation in the free-radical monovinyl-divinyl copolymerizations and, moreover, to keep the primary chain length constant by inhibiting a gel effect. The ratio of the actual gel point to the theoretical one reached 1.1, supporting the validity of F-S theory. The resulting prepolymers were subjected to SEC-MALLS analysis to determine the molecular weights, the molecular-weight distributions and the radii of gyration; the correlations of molecular weight vs. elution volume and radius of gyration vs. molecular weight were useful for the characterization of the precursors of ideal network-polymers.  相似文献

The structural change of diamond induced by hydrogen plasma exposure at room temperature, and its thermal stability, were investigated using electron spin resonance (ESR), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) techniques. ESR observation revealed that it gave rise to a highly defective structure (spin concentration of 1020 cm− 3), which is very similar to the structure of hydrogenated amorphous carbon (a-C : H) confirmed by XPS and FTIR. Post-annealing was also carried out to clarify the thermal stability of the defects. The number of spin centers decreased with increasing annealing temperature, and eventually, the defective structure changed to a graphitic one by annealing at 800 °C.  相似文献

The setup and deposition conditions of electrode arrangement and pressure have been studied to synthesize diamond films at high growth rate on wide area efficiently by arc discharge plasma jet chemical vapor deposition. An apparatus has been used in which four plasma torches, one is used for cathode and the others for divided anodes, are arranged and the positions of these torches are changeable. Growth rate, deposition area and thickness of diamond films have increased with changing the electrode arrangements without improvement of thickness variation. Maximum growth rate of our apparatus has occurred at the pressure of 6.7 kPa and diamond films that have less variations of quality and surface roughness have been synthesized at lower pressure during deposition. Moreover, a high conversion rate, which is the ratio of carbon atoms that form diamond in supplied methane gas, of 16% has been obtained at the pressure of 6.7 kPa and methane concentration of 2%.  相似文献

Crystals of yttria partially stabilized zirconia were grown by the arc-image floating-zone technique and studied by transmission electron microscopy. Crystals annealed at 1700°C consist of tetragonal precipitates and a cubic matrix. The platelike domains in a precipitate are twin-related tetragonal variants stacked alternately parallel to the (011) twin plane. The axial relations between the tetragonal precipitate and the cubic matrix are [100]tetragonal|[100]cubic, [011]tetragonal|[011]cubic.  相似文献

Using in situ hybridization techniques, we examined the expression of ornithine decarboxylase (ODC) mRNA in the skin of five patients with systemic sclerosis (SSc) and five normal controls. Sections treated with an anti-sense probe showed concentrated grains exclusively in the epidermis of SSc patients, but not in that of normal controls. Because our subcloned anti-sense probe specifically hybridizes with ODC mRNA, these findings indicate that the expression of ODC mRNA is elevated in SSc epidermis. Possibly polyamines have an important part to play in the skin changes of SSc.  相似文献

The preparation and characterization of indium oxide (InO x )/tin oxide (SnO y ) multilayered films deposited by ion-beam sputtering are described and compared with indium tin oxide (ITO) films. The structure and the optoelectrical properties of the films are studied in relation to the layered structures and the post-deposition annealing. Low-angle X-ray diffraction analysis showed that most films retained the regular layered structures even after annealing at 500° C for 16 h. As an example, we obtained a resistivity of 6×10–4 cm and a transparency of about 85% in the visible range at a thickness of 110 nm in a multilayered film of InO x (2.0 nm)/SnO y (0.2 nm)×50 pairs when annealed at 300° C for 0.5 h in air. Hall coefficient measurements showed that this film had a mobility of 17 cm2 V–1 sec–1 and a carrier concentration (electron density) of 5×1020 cm–3.  相似文献

Tensile tests of a 17Cr-7Ni-1Al steel were carried out at 0.1, 300 and 600 MPa hydrostatic pressure, and the mechanical properties of the material were found to be considerably changed by the pressure. The martensitic transition temperatureM s decreased under pressure. The volume fraction of-martensite induced by tensile deformation increased with strain, but was suppressed by hydrostatic pressure. The yield stress increased with pressure. The yield surface became a nonlinear cone with a pointed apex. The stress-strain curve was considerably changed by pressure, and was expressed by a modified identical-strain model (law of mixture) as a quantitative function. Uniform-strain limit increased with pressure. It was found that these changes were not caused by the mechanical effect of hydrostatic pressure, but by its thermodynamic effects.  相似文献

We report fast computation of computer-generated holograms (CGHs) using Xeon Phi coprocessors, which have massively x86-based processors on one chip, recently released by Intel. CGHs can generate arbitrary light wavefronts, and therefore, are promising technology for many applications: for example, three-dimensional displays, diffractive optical elements, and the generation of arbitrary beams. CGHs incur enormous computational cost. In this paper, we describe the implementations of several CGH generating algorithms on the Xeon Phi, and the comparisons in terms of the performance and the ease of programming between the Xeon Phi, a CPU and graphics processing unit (GPU).  相似文献
