Lotus‐type porous metals with many straight pores are attractive for use as heat‐sinks because a large heat‐transfer capacity can be obtained, due to the small diameter of the pores. In order to use lotus‐type porous copper effectively as a heat sink, it is important to know the effective thermal conductivity considering the effect of pores on heat conduction in the material. Since these metals have anisotropic pores, a steady‐state comparative longitudinal heat‐flow method for measuring thermal conductivity, referring to an ASTM standard, is better than other methods. So far, the effective thermal conductivity of lotus‐type porous copper has been measured by using specimens of different thickness (the SCHF‐DT method). In this paper, the uncertainty in the effective thermal conductivity of a specimen measured using this method was evaluated by comparison between numerical analysis and current experimental data. The following conclusions were drawn: 1) The uncertainty showed good agreement with the uncertainty analysis; 2) The contribution of the thermal grease thickness was large, based on a combined standard uncertainty analysis; and, 3) The effective thermal conductivity perpendicular to the pores of lotus copper can be measured within 10% uncertainty by this method. 相似文献

Various countries have established regulations that stipulate the labeling of agricultural commodities, feed, and food products that contain or are made from genetically modified (GM) material or that contain adventitious GM material in amounts that exceed certain threshold levels. While regulations in some countries refer to GM material on a weight per weight (w/w) percentage, the currently applied detection methods do not directly measure the w/w percentage of the GM material. Depending on the particular method and the sample matrix it is applied to, the conversion of analytical results to a w/w percentage is challenging or not possible. The first rapid PCR system for GM maize detection on a single kernel basis has been developed. The equipment for the grinding of individual kernels and a silica membrane-based 96-well DNA extraction kit were both significantly revised and optimized for this particular purpose, respectively. We developed a multiplex real-time PCR method for the rapid quantification of GM DNA sequences in the obtained DNA solutions. In addition, a multiplex qualitative PCR detection method allows for the simultaneous detection of different GM maize traits in each kernel and thereby for identification of individual kernels that contain a combination of two or more GM traits. Especially for grain samples that potentially contain combined-trait GM maize kernels, the proposed methods can deliver informative results in a rapid, precise, and reliable manner. 相似文献

Barium titanium trioxide (BaTiO3) thin films were deposited on fused silica or silicon wafer substrate from barium dipivaloylmethanate (II) (Ba(dpm)2) and titanium tetraisopropoxide (IV) (TTIP) used as precursors in an oxygen microwave plasma. The substrates were dielectrically heated and the substrate temperatures were around 900 K during the film deposition. The deposition was performed for 15 min and the deposits were identified as BaTiO3 by means of X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, infrared spectroscopy, and ellipsometry. Oxygen and barium atoms and TiO and CO molecules were identified in the plasma. These species would produce higher deposition rates at lower substrate temperatures than those did in the usual thermal metalorganic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD). The dielectric constant of the BaTiO3 thin film that was directly deposited on the silicon wafer substrate was as low as 101 order of magnitude. Because the deposit reacted with the substrate and an interdiffusional layer was formed, the platinum layer was coated on the silicon wafer substrate in order to prevent the formation of an interdiffusional layer. We have presented a formation of ultrafine‐grained microstructure (dα ≈ 0.2 µm) of industrial Ti–6Al–4V alloy produced by the hot compression of a sample with the acicular α′ martensite starting microstructure. The hot‐deformation behavior was different from the case of the conventional (α + β) starting microstructure, that is, the phase transformation of α′/(α + β) during hot working enhanced the microstructural conversion, especially under the conditions of a low temperature and a high‐strain rate. 相似文献

Nondestructive evaluation of cyclic-tension fatigue in a rolled magnesium alloy, Mg-3Al-1Zn, was performed using vertically
polarized shear wave (SV) reflection and shear horizontal wave (SH) transmission methods. Internal friction measured by SV
reflection increased rapidly in the early stages of the fatigue and finally saturated, showing dominating interactions of
movable dislocations and twinning boundaries with the waves as acoustic nonlinearities. The propagation time and logarithmic
damping ratio in the SH transmission method followed a repeated increase and subsequent sudden decrease pattern, and finally
converged toward fatigue failure due to acoustoelasticity, which represents the interaction with residual stresses. The wave
and phase data were determined using an optical microscope, a scanning electron microscope, a surface roughness tester, and
X-ray diffraction. The results demonstrated that during the fatigue process, residual stress accumulated on the compressive
side of the specimen, despite the applied cyclic-tension loading. Brittle cracks that originated in inclusions provided sudden

Human calicivirus Sapporo (SV) has typical calicivirus morphology and causes acute gastroenteritis in children. The nucleotide sequence of 3.2 kb of the 3' end of SV was determined from a cloned cDNA. The 3' end of the SV genome is predicted to encode the RNA-dependent RNA polymerase region, the capsid protein and two small open reading frames. The nonstructural and capsid protein coding sequences in the SV genome are fused in a single open reading frame. The organization of these proteins in the SV sequence is similar to that of rabbit hemorrhagic disease virus and the recently described Manchester virus, and distinct from the genome organization of the prototype human calicivirus, Norwalk virus, that lacks typical calicivirus morphology and has been described as a small round structured virus (SRSV). Sequence analysis of the predicted capsid region showed that the SV capsid is longer by approximately 30 amino acids than the capsid of any of the SRSVs, and multiple sequence alignments showed that these additional amino acids are located in the variable region of the capsid protein. Expression of the capsid protein of SV in insect cells resulted in the self-assembly of virus-like particles that have a morphology similar to that of the native virus. This result shows that calicivirus morphology is determined by the primary sequence of the capsid protein. 相似文献
