We report the influence of alloying elements (Ni, Al and Mn) on the microstructural evolution of Cu-rich nanoprecipitates and the mechanical properties of Fe–Cu-based ferritic alloys. It was found that individual additions of Ni and Al do not give rise to an obvious strengthening effect, compared with the binary Fe–Cu parent alloy, although Ni segregates at the precipitate/matrix interface and Al partitions into Cu-rich precipitates. In contrast, the co-addition of Ni and Al results in the formation of core–shell nanoprecipitates with a Cu-rich core and a B2 Ni–Al shell, leading to a dramatic improvement in strength. The coarsening rate of the core–shell precipitates is about two orders of magnitude lower than that of monolithic Cu-rich precipitates in the binary and ternary Fe–Cu alloys. Reinforcement of the B2 Ni–Al shells by Mn partitioning further improves the strength of the precipitation-strengthened alloys by forming ultrastable and high number density core–shell nanoprecipitates.  相似文献

Background: Within the claudin (CLDN) family, CLDN12 mRNA expression is altered in various types of cancer, but its clinicopathological relevance has yet to be established due to the absence of specific antibodies (Abs) with broad applications. Methods: We generated a monoclonal Ab (mAb) against human/mouse CLDN12 and verified its specificity. By performing immunohistochemical staining and semiquantification, we evaluated the relationship between CLDN12 expression and clinicopathological parameters in tissues from 138 cases of cervical cancer. Results: Western blot and immunohistochemical analyses revealed that the established mAb selectively recognized the CLDN12 protein. Twenty six of the 138 cases (18.8%) showed low CLDN12 expression, and the disease-specific survival (DSS) and recurrence-free survival rates were significantly decreased compared with those in the high CLDN12 expression group. We also demonstrated, via univariable and multivariable analyses, that the low CLDN12 expression represents a significant prognostic factor for the DSS of cervical cancer patients (HR 3.412, p = 0.002 and HR 2.615, p = 0.029, respectively). Conclusions: It can be concluded that a reduced CLDN12 expression predicts a poor outcome for cervical cancer. The novel anti-CLDN12 mAb could be a valuable tool to evaluate the biological relevance of the CLDN12 expression in diverse cancer types and other diseases.  相似文献

An improved control method of the buried-type interior permanent magnet (IPM) bearingless motors has been presented. It is shown that the conventional method is not applicable to this type of IPM bearingless motor for loaded conditions. In IPM bearingless motors, the armature reaction flux is present due to high magnetic permeance with thin permanent magnets and small airgap length. An increase in d-axis flux linkage is caused by armature reaction as a torque-component flux is increased. Thus, it is likely that magnetic saturation occurs in the stator teeth. In addition, a magnetic attractive force caused by the displacement force factor is dependent on the armature reaction flux. A new decoupling controller for the IPM bearingless motor considering magnetic saturation is proposed in this paper. It also considers the influence of magnetic attractive force variations. In addition, a new parameter identification method for the decoupling controller is also proposed. The new controller is found quite suitable to realize successful stable operation of the experimental IPM bearingless motor.  相似文献

Many hormonal signals from peripheral tissues contribute to the regulation of energy homeostasis and food intake. These regulators including leptin, insulin, and ghrelin, modulate the orexigenic and anorexigenic neuropeptide expression in hypothalamic nuclei. The anti-aging effects of caloric restriction have been explained from an evolutional viewpoint of the adaptive response of the neuroendocrine and metabolic response systems to maximize survival during periods of food shortage. In organisms, excess energy is stored in adipose tissues as a triglyceride preparation for such survival situations. Adipose tissue has recently been recognized as an endocrine organ, and leptin, as secreted by adipocyte, seems to be an especially important factor for the adaptive response to fasting and neuroendocrine alterations under caloric restriction. In this review, we discuss the potential involvement of neuroendocrine modulators in longevity and the anti-aging effects of caloric restriction.  相似文献

Transfer of activated sugar-nucleotides from the cytoplasm to the lumen of the Golgi is an essential requirement for glycosylation of glycoproteins, proteoglycans and glycosphingolipids. Although mannosylation is the major modification in the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae, several reports suggest the presence of galactose residues on yeast proteins and sphingolipids. We have detected alpha-galactosylated O-linked chitinase by lectin blotting from cells that functionally express the gma12(+) gene, encoding alpha 1,2-galactosyltransferase from Schizosaccharomyces pombe. This result implies the presence of a UDP-galactose transporter in S. cerevisiae. A conserved gene, HUT1, which encodes a putative multi-transmembrane protein, was cloned and characterized for its possible involvement in galactosylation. The HUT1 gene is not essential and is expressed at a relatively low level under the physiological conditions we examined. The disruption of this gene did not show any apparent impairments in glycosylation. However, a temperature- and concentration-dependent increase in UDP--galactose transport activity was detected from cells overexpressing HUT1 in the presence of gma12(+). The surface of these cells was confirmed to carry galactose residues by staining with FITC-conjugated alpha-galactose-specific lectin. These results suggest a role for Hut1p in the transport of UDP--galactose from the cytosol into the Golgi lumen in S. cerevisiae.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: The aim of this study was to obtain a more precise understanding of the mechanical properties of the periodontal ligament in continuously erupting incisors by comparing the shear stress-strain relations among teeth from four closely related species. METHODS: Four species of experimental animals (mice, hamsters, rats, and rabbits) were used. Transverse sections of the left mandibular incisors were cut from the incisal, middle, and basal regions of each incisor. The tooth was pushed out of the alveolar bone in an extrusive direction at 5 mm/min using a materials testing machine. The maximum shear stress, maximum shear strain, tangent modulus, and failure strain energy density were estimated from the resulting stress-strain curve. Polarized light microscopic observations of collagen fibers were also made. RESULTS: All the biomechanical measures tended to decrease from the incisal toward the basal regions in all species. There were large species differences, especially in the incisal region, with the greatest maximum shear stress and failure strain energy density in hamsters. The greatest tangent modulus and the smallest maximum shear strain were observed in mice. The birefringent fiber architectures of the periodontal ligaments in the four species appeared to be similarly organized; the incisal periodontal ligament appeared to have more organized and thicker collagen fibres than did the middle and basal ligaments in the four species. CONCLUSIONS: These results suggest that the regional differences in the biomechanical properties of the periodontal ligament depend upon the developmental stages of the periodontal collagen fibers that may be related to the general arrangement, diameters, and densities of the collagen fiber bundles and the fiber insertions into the alveolar bone and cementum. The species differences in the biomechanical properties may be due to differences in the width of the periodontal ligament and the waviness as well as the strength and stiffness of the periodontal collagen fibers.  相似文献

This paper reports a deep‐ultraviolet LED (deep‐UV‐LED) package based on silicon MEMS process technology (Si‐PKG). The package consists of a cavity formed by silicon crystalline anisotropic etching, through‐silicon vias (TSVs) filled with electroplated Cu, bonding metals made of electroplated Ni/AuSn and a quartz lid for hermetic sealing. A deep‐UV LED die is directly mounted in the Si‐PKG by AuSn eutectic bonding without a submount. It has advantages in terms of size, heat dissipation, light utilization efficiency, productivity and cost over conventional AlN ceramic packages. We confirmed a light output of 30 mW and effective reflection on Si (111) cavity slopes in the Si‐PKG. Based on simulation, further improvement of the optical output is expected by optimizing DUV‐LED die mount condition.  相似文献
