In the existent paper, the performance of thermal storage hybrid buildings exploiting the latent heat of phase change materials (PCMs) for thermal refrigeration and heating of the contemporary period has been investigated. The conventional buildings consume a large amount of electricity, primarily for the heating and cooling applications. Electricity generation primarily relies on coal-based thermal power plants. The emissions from these establishments pose a serious threat to the environment. Moreover, conventional heating/cooling units rely on exorbitant energy cost. The usage of any kind of thermal storage system is an efficacious way of stockpiling thermal energy and utilizing it when needed. This paper gives a comprehensive overview of the available thermal storage units incorporating PCMs. The various segments of the buildings, viz, ceiling, window, wall, and floor have been analyzed in details. The results are quite promising in terms of load reduction and overall energy saving. Indoor surface temperature reduction of up to 7oC has been achieved. The energy saving of up to 40% can be realized by employing PCM. A comprehensive list of the PCMs is also tried to build up for end users according to their temperature requirement. 相似文献

A number of sulfur analogs of polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons (thia-PAHs) have been identified in cigarette smoke condensate. Phenanthro[3,4-b]thiophene (P[3,4-b]T) and phenanthro[4,3-b]thiophene (P[4,3-b]T) are sulfur analogs of benzo[c]phenanthrene, which is known to be metabolized to one of the most tumorigenic fjord region diol epoxides tested thus far. Although fjord region diol epoxides of P[3,4-b]T and P[4,3-b]T are expected to be potent mutagens and tumorigens, these two thia-PAHs differ greatly in their mutagenic potencies. In contrast to P[3,4-b]T which is as mutagenic as benzo[a]pyrene, its isoster P[4,3-b]T is a nonmutagenic compound. In order to understand the basis underlying the difference in the mutagenic potency of P[3,4-b]T and P[4,3-b]T, we require these thia-PAHs and their dihydrodiol derivatives for investigating their metabolism and mutagenic/carcinogenic activity. In these studies, we have investigated the Suzuki cross-coupling reaction for an abbreviated synthesis of P[3,4-b]T, P[4,3-b]T, and their dihydrodiol derivatives from easily available reagents. 相似文献

Accelerated thermal cycle tests for melt/freeze cycles of urea were conducted. Urea has shown a very high degradation in its latent heat and melting point within the first few cycles and did not melt after a few cycles. The design and synthesis of a series of bicyclic ring containing dual aromatase–sulfatase inhibitors (DASIs) based on the aromatase inhibitor (AI) 4‐[(4‐bromobenzyl)(4H‐1,2,4‐triazol‐4‐yl)amino]benzonitrile are reported. Biological evaluation with JEG‐3 cells revealed structure–activity relationships. The X‐ray crystal structure of sulfamate 23 was determined, and selected compounds were docked into the aromatase and steroid sulfatase (STS) crystal structures. In the sulfamate‐containing series, compounds containing a naphthalene ring are both the most potent AI ( 39 , IC50 AROM=0.25 nM ) and the best STS inhibitor ( 31 , IC50 STS=26 nM ). The most promising DASI is 39 (IC50 AROM=0.25 nM , IC50 STS=205 nM ), and this was evaluated orally in vivo at 10 mg kg?1, showing potent inhibition of aromatase (93 %) and STS (93 %) after 3 h. Potent aromatase and STS inhibition can thus be achieved with a DASI containing a bicyclic ring system; development of such a DASI could provide an attractive new option for the treatment of hormone‐dependent breast cancer. 相似文献

Hybrid sensor networks comprise of mobile and static sensor nodes set up for the purpose of collaboratively performing tasks like sensing a phenomenon or monitoring a region. In this paper, we present a novel approach for navigating a mobile sensor node (MSN) through such a hybrid sensor network. The static sensor nodes in the sensor network guide the MSN to the phenomenon. One or more MSNs are selected based on their proximity to the detected phenomenon. Navigation is accomplished using the concepts of credit based field setup and navigation force from static sensor nodes. Our approach does not require any prior maps of the environment, thus cutting down the cost of the overall system. The simulation results have verified the effectiveness of the proposed approach. In each of the simulation runs, the static sensor nodes were able to successfully guide the MSN towards the phenomenon. 相似文献
