This paper presents a moving-coil electromagnetic optical scanner with newly developed hinge structure consisting of multilayered polyimide films with aluminum lead wires in between. The main purpose is to obtain a scanner with good durability and shock resistance for practical use. Polyimide has both features, and the aluminum lead wires, connecting the moving-coils and fixed electrode pads, are more reliable, because they are located inside the hinge, where the stress caused by torsional deformation and atmospheric degradation are minimal. An electromagnetic actuator is used to satisfy the following requirements; a millimeter-sized mirror, resonant and galvanometric operation, and scan angle control. Scanner prototypes with two different specifications (i.e., fast scanner and slow scanner) were fabricated and characterized. Driven with a sinusoidal current of ±20 mA, the fast scanner and the slow one vibrated with an optical scan angle (&thetas;o) of 1° at the resonant frequency (fr) of 1.7 kHz and &thetas;o of 60° at fr of 72 Hz, respectively. Durability was demonstrated with a shock test of 2500 G and a life test of over 13 000 h. We have investigated the hot carrier (HC) reliability of nMOSFETs with an ultrashallow source/drain (S/D) extension, and found that lightly doped drain (LDD)-type HC degradation is accelerated. The lifetime strongly depends on the extension implantation dose or the implantation angle. An optimum design method is presented for a "spaceless" unit structure in submarine optical fiber cable. The unit structure has been designed taking into consideration the loss increase caused by both a 40-km-long winding unit and a temperature change of 100°C. Sec12p is the guanine nucleotide exchange factor of Sar1 GTPase and functions at the very upstream in the vesicle budding reactions from the endoplasmic reticulum (ER). We previously identified three yeast loci, RST1, RST2, and RST3, whose mutations suppressed the temperature-sensitive growth of the sec12-4 mutant (Nakano, A. (1996) J. Biochem. (Tokyo) 120, 642-646). In the present study, we cloned the wild-type RST2 gene by complementation of the cold-sensitive phenotype of the rst2-1 mutant. RST2 turned out to be identical to HRR25, a gene encoding a dual-specificity casein kinase I in yeast. The rst2-1 mutation, which is now renamed hrr25-2, was due to the T176I amino acid replacement in the kinase domain. This mutation remedied not only the temperature-sensitive growth but also the defect of ER-to-Golgi protein transport of sec12. Immunoprecipitation of the hemagglutinin-tagged Hrr25-2 protein and a subsequent protein kinase assay showed that the kinase activity of the mutant protein was markedly reduced. The overproduction of another kinase-minus mutant of Hrr25p (Hrr25p K38A) slightly suppressed the growth defect of sec12-4 as well. These observations suggest that the reduction of the kinase activity in the mutant protein is important for the suppression of sec12. We propose that Hrr25p negatively regulates the vesicle budding from the ER. 相似文献

Computerized detection of malignant tumors on digital mammograms 总被引:5,自引:0,他引:5
This paper presents a tumor detection system for fully digital mammography. The processing scheme adopted in the proposed system focuses on the solution of two problems. One is how to detect tumors as suspicious regions with a very weak contrast to their background and another is how to extract features which characterize malignant tumors. For the first problem, a unique adaptive filter called the iris filter is proposed. It is very effective in enhancing approximately rounded opacities no matter what their contrasts might be. Clues for differentiation between malignant tumors and other tumors are believed to be mostly in their border areas. This paper proposes typical parameters which reflect boundary characteristics. To confirm the system performance for unknown samples, large scale experiments using 1212 CR images were performed. The results showed that the sensitivity of the proposed system was 90.5% and the average number of false positives per image was found to be only 1.3. The optical fiber cable measurement instruments developed by NTF for field use in the 1.3 μm wavelength are discussed. The properties of a stabilized optical light source for single-mode fiber attenuation measurement, optical time-domain reflectometer using a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser as a light source, and chromatic dispersion measurement instrument are described. High-temperature superconducting bulks with highly oriented crystallographic structures are expected to be applied for high field quasi-permanent magnets, current leads and so on. However, the bulks sometimes fracture due to the thermal stress on the cooling process or the electromagnetic force during the magnetization. Thus, it has been recognized that improvement and understanding of the mechanical properties of bulks are indispensable for practical application. In this review, we summarize the present status of evaluation process of the mechanical properties for various bulks. The Young’s modulus, Poisson’s ratio, fracture strength, fracture toughness and hardness are evaluated by tensile, bending, compression and hardness tests. The mechanical properties are anisotropic, mainly due to the crystallographic structure and pre-existing micro-cracks associated with it. Data obtained are summarized and the influential parameters associated with the microstructure and testing condition for the mechanical properties are explained. 相似文献

The modifying of the JT-60U magnet system to the superconducting coils is progressing as a satellite facility for ITER by both parties of Japanese government and European commission in the Broader Approach agreement. The magnet system requires current supplies of 25.7 kA for 18 TF coils and of 20 kA for 4 CS modules and 6 EF coils. The magnet system generates an average heat load of 3.2 kW at 4 K to the cryogenic system. The feeder components connected to the power supply provide current supply. C34, a 34-mer fragment peptide, is contained in the HIV-1 envelope protein gp41. A dimeric derivative of C34 linked through a disulfide bridge at its C terminus was synthesized and found to display potent anti-HIV activity, comparable with that of a previously reported PEGylated dimer of C34REG. The reduction in the size of the linker moiety for dimerization was thus successful, and this result might shed some light on the mechanism of the suppression of six-helix bundle formation by these C34 dimeric derivatives. Addition of a Gly-Cys(CH2CONH2)-Gly-Gly motif at the N-terminal position of a C34 monomeric derivative significantly increased the anti-HIV-1 activity. This moiety functions as a new pharmacophore, and this might provide a useful insight into the design of potent HIV-1 fusion inhibitors. 相似文献
