In this paper, we study a tandem queue with retrials where the queue experiences disasters. The probability of system failure depends on the strength of equipment, which makes servers idle and causes the removal of all customers in queues and service areas at once. The customers in the queue are forced to orbit in a retrial queue during the system failure where they decide whether or not to come back to the system. Reducing the disaster arrival rate (the probability of system failure) by employing more servers and reducing the number of lost customers is very costly. Moreover, it is important to service the customers with no interruption and reduce the time in system. The developed scenarios are compared in five dimensions including time in system, cost of lost customer, operator cost, the number of uninterrupted service customers and cost of reducing disaster arrival rate (or empowering system cost). The scenarios are modeled by computer simulation. Then, the optimal scenario is chosen using data envelopment analysis. The optimal scenario maximizes system efficiency in terms of disaster arrival rate, cost of lost customers and the number of satisfied customers. In the main problem, the disasters arrive at the system according to Poisson process; the effect of changing the distribution function of disaster arrival has been investigated finally. We are among the first ones to study and optimize G/G/K tandem queuing systems with system failures and retrial phenomena in interactive voice response systems.  相似文献

2D materials are important building blocks for the upcoming generation of nanostructured electronics and multifunctional devices due to their distinct chemical and physical characteristics. To this end, large-scale production of 2D materials with high purity or with specific functionalities represents a key to advancing fundamental studies as well as industrial applications. Among the state-of-the-art synthetic protocols, electrochemical exfoliation of layered materials is a very promising approach that offers high yield, great efficiency, low cost, simple instrumentation, and excellent up-scalability. Remarkably, playing with electrochemical parameters not only enables tunable material properties but also increases the material diversities from graphene to a wide spectrum of 2D semiconductors. Here, a succinct and critical survey of the recent progress in this research direction is presented, comprising the strategic design, exfoliation principles, underlying mechanisms, processing techniques, and potential applications of 2D materials. At the end of the discussion, the emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities in real practice are also highlighted.  相似文献

The design of inexact circuits at the transistor level remarkably improves figures of merits such as power consumption, delay, energy, and area. Therefore, inexact technique for designing circuits has attracted the attention of researchers worldwide. Designing inexact Full Adder cell as a building block of a variety of arithmetic circuits can affect the entire electronic system’s performance. In this paper, two novel inexact 1-bit Full Adder cells are presented using carbon nanotube field effect transistors (CNFETs). The capacitive threshold logic (CTL) is used to realize the proposed cells. Comprehensive simulations at two levels of abstraction, i.e., application and hardware are carried out to evaluate the efficacy of these circuits. First, the motion detector which is one of the image processing applications is deployed in MATLAB software to measure peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) figure of merit. At hardware level, the HSPICE tool is used to carry out simulations and measure power, delay, power-delay product (PDP), energy-delay product (EDP), power-delay-area product (PDAP) and power-delay-area-PSNR product (PDAPP). Simulation results confirmed the superiority of the proposed Full Adder cells compared to others. For instance, the proposed 6TIFA improves PDAPP metric at least 21% and at most 76% compared to its counterparts at 0.9V power supply.  相似文献
