A centrosymmetric multilayer stack of two transparent materials, which is embedded in a high-index prism, can function as a complete-transmission quarter-wave or half-wave retarder (QWR or HWR) under conditions of frustrated total internal reflection. The multilayer consists of a high-index center layer sandwiched between two identical low-index films with high-index-low-index bilayers repeated on both sides of the central trilayer, maintaining the symmetry of the entire stack and constituting a QWR (Delta(t)=90 degrees or 270 degrees ) or HWR (Delta(t)=180 degrees ) in transmission. A QWR design at wavelength lambda=1.55 microm is presented that employs an 11-layer stack of Si and SiO(2) thin films, which is embedded in a GaP cube prism. The intensity transmittances for the p and s polarizations remain >99% and Delta(t) deviates from 90 degrees by <+/-3 degrees over a 100 nm spectral bandwidth (1.5< or =lambda< or =1.6 microm), and by < or =+/-7 degrees over an internal field view of +/-1 degrees (incidence angle 44 degrees < or = phi(0)< or =46 degrees inside the prism). An HWR design at lambda=1.55 microm employs seven layers of Si and SiO(2) thin films embedded in a Si cube, has an average transmittance >93%, and Delta(t) that differs from 180 degrees by <+/-0.3 degrees over a 100 nm bandwidth (1.5< or =lambda< or =1.6 microm) and by <+/-17 degrees over an internal field view of +/-1 degree . The range of incidence angle, 0 < phi < phi(e), over which p-polarized light is reflected at interfaces between transparent and absorbing media with reflectance below that at normal incidence is determined. Contours of constant phi(e) in the complex plane of the relative dielectric constant epsilon are presented. Simple and explicit expressions for the phase shifts that p- and s-polarized light experience in frustrated total internal reflection (FTIR) and optical tunneling by an embedded low-index thin film are obtained. The differential phase shifts in reflection and transmission deltar, deltat are found to be identical, and the associated ellipsometric parameters psir, psit are governed by a simple relation, independent of film thickness. When the Fresnel interface reflection phase shifts for the p and s polarizations or their average are quarter-wave, the corresponding overall reflection phase shifts introduced by the embedded layer are also quarter-wave for all values of film thickness. In the limit of zero film thickness (i.e., for an ultrathin embedded layer), the reflection phase shifts are also quarter-wave independent of polarization (p or s) or angle of incidence (except at grazing incidence). The present study evaluates the postnatal efficacy of Momordica charantia peel, pulp, seed and whole fruit extract via assessing the modulation in the biotransformation system enzymes of suckling neonates and lactating mice. The peel, seed or whole fruit extract of Momordica (100 microl/animal/day) independently induced a significant increase in the hepatic levels of glutathione S-transferase (GST) and acid soluble sulfhydryl (-SH) after 14 or 21 days treatment in lactating dams (P < 0.01) and translactationally exposed neonates (P < 0.05). However, the elevation (P < 0.05) in hepatic cytochrome b5 (Cyt. b5) and cytochrome P-450 (Cyt. P-450) levels was observed only in the lactating dams treated with the respective extracts of peel, seed or whole fruit of Momordica. In lactating dams and suckling neonates the modulated levels of biotransformation system enzymes suggest the potential for the translactational passage of active principle(s) and/or metabolites of Momordica. 相似文献

The 3×1 generalized Jones vectors (GJVs) [E(x) E(y) E(z)](t) (t indicates the transpose) that describe the linear, circular, and elliptical polarization states of an arbitrary three-dimensional (3-D) monochromatic light field are determined in terms of the geometrical parameters of the 3-D vibration of the time-harmonic electric field. In three dimensions, there are as many distinct linear polarization states as there are points on the surface of a hemisphere, and the number of distinct 3-D circular polarization states equals that of all two-dimensional (2-D) polarization states on the Poincaré sphere, of which only two are circular states. The subset of 3-D polarization states that results from the superposition of three mutually orthogonal x, y, and z field components of equal amplitude is considered as a function of their relative phases. Interesting contours of equal ellipticity and equal inclination of the normal to the polarization ellipse with respect to the x axis are obtained in 2-D phase space. Finally, the 3×3 generalized Jones calculus, in which elastic scattering (e.g., by a nano-object in the near field) is characterized by the 3-D linear transformation E(s)=T E(i), is briefly introduced. The security in cognitive radio networks (CRNs) has been attracting continuously growing attention due to the open and dynamic nature of cognitive radio architecture. In this paper, we propose new relay selection schemes to improve the physical layer security in CRNs. A trusted decode-and-forward relay is selected to help the secondary user (SU) transmission and improve the secrecy rate in the presence of multiple eavesdroppers and multiple primary users (PUs). The secrecy rate of the SU is characterized under both its own transmit power constraint as well as a set of interference power constraints imposed at each PU, in order to preserve its quality of service. The performance of the proposed schemes is analyzed in terms of the achievable secrecy rate and the intercept probability. Closed form expressions for the asymptotic intercept probability at high source-relays channel variances are also derived. Moreover, new derivations of some existing traditional schemes are presented and compared. The performance comparison of the proposed schemes with the schemes proposed in the literature reveals the superior of the proposed schemes. 相似文献
