In the present work, effect of selective peroxide on reactor grade polypropylene (PP) (known as V30S) during melt spinning process on the physical and thermal properties of as‐spun resultant multifilament yarn was studied. Attempts have also been made to compare this yarn sample with other fiber samples produced from reactor and controlled rheology grades polypropylene. The results show that the multifilament yarn spun from V30S/Peroxide sample shows higher birefringence and tensile strength and also lower modulus, elongation at break, and shrinkage compared with that of spun from pure V30S granule. Novel nanosized and microsized chitosan–Al2O3–Fe3O4 (CANF and CAMF, respectively) adsorbents were functionalized with ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) ligands and applied to the removal of Pb(II) ions. The prepared adsorbents were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and Brunauer–Emmett–Teller analysis, and their adsorption potentials were investigated with Pb(II) as a target metal under various experimental conditions. Our results show that the EDTA functionalization of CANF and CAMF increased their adsorption capacities about 31.5 and 38 times, respectively. The optimum dosage obtained was 1.0 g/L for both EDTA‐functionalized adsorbents, and the maximum adsorption took place at pH = 5.3. The kinetic results revealed that the adsorption obeyed the pseudo‐second‐order model and that the pore diffusion process played a key role in the adsorption kinetics. Also, the results of equilibrium isotherms indicate the good fit of the experimental data by the Langmuir isotherm model under the studied concentration and temperature ranges, and the adsorptions of Pb(II) ions from aqueous solution followed the monolayer coverage of the adsorbents. The maximum Pb(II)‐ion adsorption capacities of EDTA–CANF and EDTA–CAMF were 160 and 157 mg/g, respectively. Driven by increase in automation, smart homes play an important role in today’s human life. This paper presents a new model for smart home technologies based on multi-device bidirectional visible light communication (VLC). For multiple devices and users, orthogonal code-based wavelength division (color beams) full-duplexed bidirectional VLC link is proposed. The color beams from RGB LEDs are utilized to transmit data and synchronize multi-device transmission. To enhance the performance of the proposed model, receiver diversity is also employed. Performance evaluation reveals that the proposed VLC-based model for smart homes is efficient with superior BER performance in a typical smart home environment except for the far corners. The maximum achievable data rate for each user up to four users is found to be 24 Mbps at both uplink and downlink transmissions.  相似文献

The fabrication and characterization of an optically addressable deformable mirror for a spatial light modulator is described. Device operation utilizes an electrostatically driven pixellated aluminized polymeric membrane mirror supported above an optically controlled photoconductive GaAs substrate. A 5 microm thick grid of patterned photoresist supports the 2 microm thick aluminized Mylar membrane. A conductive ZnO layer is placed on the back side of the GaAs wafer. A standard Michelson interferometer is used to measure mirror deformation data as a function of illumination, applied voltage, and frequency. A simplified analysis of device operation is also presented.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider a hybrid ‘Make-to-Stock–Make-to-Order’ environment to develop a novel optimisation model for medium-term production planning of a typical multi-product firm based on the competencies of the robust optimisation methodology. Three types of uncertainties: suppliers, processes and customers, are incorporated into the model to construct a robust practical model in an uncertain business environment. The modelling procedure is started with applying deterministic linear programming to develop a new multi-objective approach for the combination of multi-product multi-period production planning and aggregate production planning problems. Then, the proposed deterministic model is transformed into a robust optimisation framework and the solution procedure is designed according to the Lp-Metric methodology. Next, using the IBM ILOG CPLEX optimisation software, the proposed model is evaluated by applying the data collected from an industrial case study. Final results illustrate the applicability of the proposed model.  相似文献
