Summary A new temperature sensitive hydrogel matrix, poly(N-ethoxypropylacrylamide), PNEPAM, was obtained by the bulk polymerization of N-ethoxypropylacrylamide (NEPAM). The monomer, NEPAM was synthesized by the nucleophilic substitution reaction of 3-ethoxypropylamine and acryloyl chloride. The polymerization was performed at +4 °C, by using N,N-methylenebisacrylamide (MBAM) as crosslinker, polyethyleneglycol (PEG) 4000 as diluent, and potassium persulfate (KPS) and tetramethylethylenediamine (TEMED) as the initiator and accelerator, respectively. PNEPAM gel matrices exhibited a thermosensitive bahaviour reasonably similar to poly(N-isopropylacrylamide), PNIPAM gels. The equilibrium swelling ratio at constant temperature increased with increasing initiator concentration and decreasing monomer concentration. The use of PEG 4000 as a diluent in the gel synthesis resulted in a significant enhacement in the thermosensitivity of gel matrix. The equilibrium swelling ratios up to 60 g water/g dry gel were observed in the low-temperature region. The results indicated that PNEPAM gel is a new alternative thermosensitive material to the NIPAM based gels.  相似文献

The objective of this work was to compare two anaerobic reactor configurations, a hybrid upflow anaerobic sludge blanket (UASBh) reactor and an anaerobic sequencing batch reactor with immobilised biomass (ASBBR) treating dairy effluents. The reactors were fed with effluent from the milk pasteurisation process (effluent 1—E1) and later with effluent from the same process combined with the one from the cheese manufacturing (effluent 2—E2). The ASBBR reactor showed average organic matter removal efficiency of 95.2% for E1 and 93.5% for E2, while the hybrid UASB reactor showed removal efficiencies of 90.3% and 80.1% respectively.  相似文献

In this study, Acrylic acid (AA)/2‐acrylamido‐2‐methlypropane sulfonic acid (AMPS) hydrogels were prepared by free radical polymerization in aqueous solutions of AA, AMPS, and N,N‐methylenebisacrylamide (NMBA) as crosslinker. Potassium persulfate (PPS)/potassium bisulfide (PBS) were used as initiator and accelerator pair. The water absorption capacities and dye adsorption properties of the hydrogels were investigated. Adsorption properties of the hydrogels were evaluated by depending on different adsorption conditions such as different initial dye concentration and contact time. The concentrations of the dyes were determined using UV/Vis Spectrophotometer at wavelength 530 nm for safranine T (ST) and 622 nm for brilliant cresyl blue (BCB). Adsorption kinetic studies showed that pseudo‐first order kinetic model is suitable to explain the adsorption kinetic data of the hydrogels. Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm models were used to describe adsorption data. The result revealed that the adsorption of basic dyes onto hydrogels fit very well both Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Appl Polym Sci, 2009  相似文献

Macroporous temperature‐sensitive poly {N‐[3‐(dimethylaminopropyl)] methacrylamide} hydrogels were synthesized by free‐radical crosslinking polymerization of the monomer N‐[3‐(dimethylaminopropyl)] methacrylamide and the crosslinker N,N′‐methylenebisacrylamide in aqueous solutions at 22°C. Poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) with a molecular weight of 1000 g/mol was used as the pore‐forming agent during the polymerization reaction. The concentration of PEG in the polymerization solutions was varied between 0 and 18 wt %, whereas the crosslinker (N,N′‐methylenebisacrylamide) concentration was fixed at 2 wt % (with respect to the monomer). The effects of the PEG concentration on the thermo‐induced phase‐transition behavior and the chemical structure, interior morphology, and swelling/deswelling kinetics were investigated. Normal‐type hydrogels were also prepared under the same conditions without PEG. An interesting feature of the swelling behavior of both the normal‐type and macroporous hydrogels was the reentrant phase transition, in which the hydrogels collapsed once and reswelled as the temperature was continuously increased. Scanning electron micrographs revealed that the interior network structure of the hydrogels prepared in PEG solutions became more porous with an increase in the PEG concentration in the polymerization solution. This more porous matrix provided numerous water channels for water diffusion in or out of the matrix and, therefore, an improved responsive rate to external temperature changes during the deswelling and swelling processes. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. This study describes the preparation of new surface-modified nanodiamond (ND) particles containing urethane-based hybrid materials by photopolymerization of aliphatic urethane acrylate, trimethylolpropane triacrylate, glycidyl methacrylate monomers, and their usage for lead adsorption from aqueous media. ND and synthesized surface-modified ND were characterized by atom transfer radical addition Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (ATR-FTIR) and scanning transmission electron microscopy analysis. Crosslinked adsorbent nanocomposites were then treated with polyethylene imine and all adsorbent nanocomposites were characterized by ATR-FTIR, scanning electron microscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, and contact angle measurements. The metal ion binding capacity of the surfaces of the nanocomposites containing high amine content was investigated. The effects of the percentage of functional monomer, pH, and contact time on adsorption, and the interaction of foreign metal ions have been tested. Optimum contact time was found to be 7 h at pH 5. The adsorption capacity of the synthesized nanocomposite adsorbent for lead (II) was determined as 17.12 mg g−1. Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms were used to determine the adsorption behaviors and Langmuir isotherm model was found to be the most suitable model (R2: 0.9988). The effects of incorporating various concentrations of bacterial cellulose (BC) (1.7 and 3.5% w/v) on the physicochemical and sensorial properties of low‐fat soft cheese Turkish Beyaz were investigated during a 60‐day ripening period. Control cheeses were produced using nonfat, half‐fat (1.7% fat) and full‐fat milk, for comparison. Depending on changing fat percentage, some physicochemical properties of cheeses, such as moisture, pH and salt showed significant differences, but BC had no influence on these properties. Fat content and BC altered the textural and sensory properties. These results indicated that BC improved the quality of reduced‐fat and low‐fat Turkish Beyaz cheeses.  相似文献

In this study, grape pomace (mixture of grape seeds and skins) powder (GPP), obtained from grape processing, was used at different concentrations [10.0 (GPP10), 20.0 (GPP10) and 30.0 (GPP10) g/100 g] in white chocolate formulation for the partial replacement of sucrose. The results indicated that GPP addition at a higher concentration (>10.0 g/100 g) significantly affected the particle size, moisture content, texture and flow behaviour of white chocolate samples (P < 0.05). However, using GPP at a concentration of 10.0 g/100 g had advantages for physicochemical and flow properties. As expected, under simulated in vitro digestion conditions, the bioaccessibility of total phenolic compounds in saliva, gastric juice and intestinal juice for GPP10 samples was significantly higher than the control (P < 0.05). In conclusion, results of the study showed that it was possible to partially replace the sucrose with GPP at a concentration of 10.0 g/100 g in white chocolate formulations.  相似文献
