Liquid micro-jet array impingement cooling of a power conversion module with 12 power switching devices (six insulated gate bipolar transistors and six diodes) is investigated. The 1200-V/150-A module converts dc input power to variable frequency, variable voltage three-phase ac output to drive a 50HP three-phase induction motor. The silicon devices are attached to a packaging layer [direct bonded copper (DBC)], which in turn is soldered to a metal base plate. DI water micro-jet array impinges on the base plate of the module targeted at the footprint area of the devices. Although the high heat flux cooling capability of liquid impingement is a well-established finding, the impact of its practical implementation in power systems has never been addressed. This paper presents the first one-to-one comparison of liquid micro-jet array impingement cooling (JAIC) with the traditional methods, such as air-cooling over finned heat sink or liquid flow in multi-pass cold plate. Results show that compared to the conventional cooling methods, JAIC can significantly enhance the module output power. If the output power is maintained constant, the device temperature can be reduced drastically by JAIC. Furthermore, jet impingement provides uniform cooling for multiple devices placed over a large area, thereby reducing non-uniformity of temperature among the devices. The reduction in device temperature, both its absolute value and the non-uniformity, implies multi-fold increase in module reliability. In this study, the degradability of linear low‐density polyethylene (LLDPE) and poly(L ‐lactic acid) (PLLA) blend films under controlled composting conditions was investigated according to modified ASTM D 5338 (2003). Differential scanning calorimetry, X‐ray diffraction, and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy were used to determine the thermal and morphological properties of the plastic films. LLDPE 80 (80 wt % LLDPE and 20 wt % PLLA) degraded faster than grafted low‐density polyethylene–maleic anhydride (M‐g‐L) 80/4 (80 wt % LLDPE, 20 wt % PLLA, and 4 phr compatibilizer) and pure LLDPE (LLDPE 100). The mechanical properties and weight changes were determined after composting. The tensile strength of LLDPE 100, LLDPE 80, and M‐g‐L 80/4 decreased by 20, 54, and 35%, respectively. Melt blending of linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) and polylactide (PLLA) was performed in an extrusion mixer with post extrusion blown film attachment with and without compatibilizer-grafted low density polyethylene maleic anhydride. The blend compositions were optimized for tensile properties as per ASTM D 882-91. Based on this, LLDPE 80 (80 wt% LLDPE & 20 wt% PLLA) and M-g-L 80/4 (80 wt% LLDPE, 20 wt% PLLA and 4 parts compatibilizer per hundred parts of resin) were found to be an optimum composition. FTIR reveals that the presence of compatibilizer shifts carbonyl peak hence some increase in interaction between LLDPE and PLLA. Morphological characteristics of the fracture surface of with and without compatibilizer blends were examined by scanning electron microscopy. It shows that use of compatibilizer enhances the dispersions of PLLA in LLDPE matrix. Thermogravimetric (TG) analysis of blends shows the M-g-L 80/4 blend has higher thermal stability among studied blends. The degradation study under different pH of soil compost gives that in alkaline condition and the presence of compatibilizer was favorable for degradation. We identified a new microtubule targeted small molecule, which showed significant anticancer activity and induced apoptotic death of cancer cells. Precisely the central bridged carbonyl group and trifluoro-acetophenone group of a bis-benzothiazole molecule (BBT) interacts with tubulin close to the curcumin site and perturbs microtubule dynamics as well as causes microtubule depolymerization. We observed a significant enhancement of fluorescence while BBT interacts with the tubulin through bridged carbonyl moiety, a similar phenomenon to colchicine. Further, BBT activates tumor-suppressing bim and p53-puma axes to inhibit cancer survival. It also shows promising results against a tumor spheroid model. BBT is also capable of tumor regression, which shows that this molecule can serve as a potential template for the design of next-generation microtubule targeted anticancer drugs.  相似文献

Free‐standing flexible composite films of nanocrystalline cadmium sulfide‐impregnated poly(vinylidene fluoride) (nano‐CdS/PVDF) were prepared using a sol–gel technique. The effect of CdS loading, in the PVDF host matrix, on the dielectric properties was studied. An increase in dielectric constant (more than 10 times) was observed in the films when poled under an electric field. The composite films were also characterized using microstructural, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy measurements. © 2015 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

Simultaneous interaction of two side-coupled waveguides with the dressed continuum represented by a linear waveguide array causes cross-coupling between the two evanescent decay-channels and results in the phenomenon of trapping of the light field in the spatial domain during propagation through the waveguide system. For specific parameter values, it has been shown that the trapping effect is possible for all relative positions of the waveguides side-coupled to the dressed continuum. The model also demonstrates non-exponential decay characteristics of the optical field amplitudes in the waveguides. Depending on the values of the propagation mismatch, the nonlinearity arising in the decay-rate characteristics exhibits features like optical Zeno and anti-Zeno effects.  相似文献
