The emerging new fixed dose combination of metformin hydrocholride (HCl) as sustained release and glipizide as immediate release were formulated as a bilayer matrix tablet using hydroxy propyl methyl cellulose (HPMC) as the matrix-forming polymer, and the tablets were evaluated via in vitro studies. Three different grades of HPMC (HPMC K 4M, HPMC K 15M, and HPMC K 100M) were used. All tablet formulations yielded quality matrix preparations with satisfactory tableting properties. In vitro release studies were carried out at a phosphate buffer of pH 6.8 with 0.75% sodium lauryl sulphate w/v using the apparatus I (basket) as described in the . The release kinetics of metformin were evaluated using the regression coefficient analysis. There was no significant difference in drug release for different viscosity grade of HPMC with the same concentration. Thermal history of droplets associated with gas atomization of melt has been investigated. A mathematical model, based on
classical theory of heterogeneous nucleation and volume separation of nucleants among droplets size distribution, is described
to predict undercooling of droplets. Newtonian heat flow condition coupled with velocity dependent heat transfer coefficient
is used to obtain cooling rate before and after nucleation of droplets. The results indicate that temperature profile of droplets
in the spray during recalescence, segregated and eutectic solidification regimes is dependent on their size and related undercooling.
The interface temperature during solidification of undercooled droplets rapidly approaches the liquidus temperature of the
alloy with a subsequent decrease in solid-liquid interface velocity. A comparison in cooling rates of atomized powder particles
estimated from secondary dendrite arm spacing measurements are observed to be closer to those predicted from the model during

Exposure to ammonia (NH3) increases the dark current (DC) in nanocrystalline silicon. Light soaking (LS) for short periods also enhances the dark current, which remains at a high value for a long time. Pumping alone is unable to restore the initial annealed state, but annealing brings it back. The final state obtained by LS and NH3 exposure depends on the order in which they are performed. Evaporated selenium (Se) deposited on nanocrystalline silicon decreases the DC. These effects cannot be explained entirely by the presence of a-Si : H alone, in our sample. Ni0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4 ferrite nanocrystals with average diameter in the range of 1–2 nm have been synthesized by reverse microemulsion. X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) are used to characterize the structural, morphological and magnetic properties. X-ray analysis showed that the nanocrystals possess cubic spinel structure. The absence of hysteresis, negligible remanence and coercivity at 300 K indicate the superparamagnetic character and single domain in the nanocrystalline Ni0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4 ferrite materials. The nanocrystalline Ni0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4 ferrite were annealed at 600 °C. As a result of heat treatment the average particle size increases from 2 nm to 5 nm and the corresponding magnetization values have increased to 21.69 emu/g at 300 K. However, at low temperature of 100 K, the annealed samples show hysteresis loop which is the characteristic of a superparamagnetic to ferromagnetic transition. In addition, a comparative study of the magnetic properties of Ni0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4 ferrite nanocrystals obtained from reverse microemulsion has been carried out with those obtained from the general chemical co-precipitation route. 相似文献
