The thermomechanical behavior of micro/nano-alumina (Al2O3) ceramics reinforced with 1-5 wt.% of acid-treated oil fly ash (OFA) was investigated. Composites were sintered using spark plasma sintering (SPS) technique at a temperature of 1400°C by applying a constant uniaxial pressure of 50 MPa. It was evaluated that the fracture toughness of micro- and nanosized composites improved in contrast with the monolithic alumina. Highest fracture toughness value of 4.85 MPam1/2 was measured for the nanosized composite reinforced with 5 wt.% OFA. The thermal conductivity of the composites (nano-/microsized) decreased with the increase in temperature. However, the addition of OFA (1-5 wt.%) in nanosized alumina enhanced the thermal conductivity at an evaluated temperature. Furthermore, a minimum thermal expansion value of 6.17 ppm*K−1 was measured for nanosized Al2O3/5 wt.% OFA composite. Microstructural characterization of Al2O3-OFA composites was done by x-ray diffraction and Raman spectroscopy. Oil fly ash particles were seen to be well dispersed within the alumina matrix. Moreover, the comparative analysis of the nano-/microsized Al2O3/OFA composites shows that the mechanical and thermal properties were improved in nanosized alumina composites. 相似文献

ABSTRACT Current health situations have instigated increased frequency of taking antibiotics for cure of infections but this amplified use is posing threats to environment. This research is focused to remove Tetracycline (TC), an antibiotic from water, using an advanced nanohybrid that compact the properties of adsorbent and photocatalyst. Compared to conventional methods for remediation of TC, large surface area (452 m2g?1) adsorbent photocatalyst hybrid (APH) g-C3N4/α-MoO3/ZIF-67 (CMZ) have found much effective as 97% degradation of TC is observed in 110 min with 0.1 g of APH. Increasing g-C3N4 in the hybrids has improved percent degradation of TC molecules. CMZ-3 is found as a potential candidate for water treatment. 相似文献

A fuzzy goal programming model for the simple U-line balancing (SULB) problem with multiple objectives is presented. In real life applications of the SULB problem with multiple objectives, it is difficult for the decision-maker(s) to determine the goal value of each objective precisely as the goal values are imprecise, vague, or uncertain. Therefore a fuzzy goal programming model is developed for this purpose. The proposed model is the first fuzzy multi-objective decision-making approach to the SULB problem with multiple objectives which aims at simultaneously optimizing several conflicting goals. The proposed model is illustrated using an example. A computational study is conducted by solving a large number of test problems to investigate the relationship between the fuzzy goals and to compare them with the goal programming model proposed by Gökçen and A?pak (Gökçen, H. and A?pak, K., European Journal of Operational Research, 171, 577–585, 2006). The results of the computational study show that the proposed model is more realistic than the existing models for the SULB problem with multiple objectives and also provides increased flexibility for the decision-maker(s) to determine different alternatives. 相似文献

This paper presents a new hybrid improvement heuristic approach to simple straight and U-type assembly line balancing problems
which is based on the idea of adaptive learning approach and simulated annealing. The proposed approach uses a weight parameter
to perturb task priorities of a solution to obtain improved solutions. The weight parameters are then modified using a learning
strategy. The maximization of line efficiency (i.e., the minimization of the number of stations) and the equalization of workloads
among stations (i.e., the minimization of the smoothness index or the minimization of the variation of workloads) are considered
as the performance criteria. In order to clarify the proposed solution methodology, a well known problem taken from literature
is solved. A computational study is conducted by solving a large number of benchmark problems available in the literature
to compare the performance of the proposed approach to the existing methods such as simulated annealing and genetic algorithms.
Some test instances taken from literature are also solved by the proposed approach. The results of the computational study
show that the proposed approach performs quite effectively. It also yields optimal solutions for all test problems within

In this paper, a genetic algorithm (GA) is proposed as a search strategy for not only positive but also negative quantitative
association rule (AR) mining within databases. Contrary to the methods used as usual, ARs are directly mined without generating
frequent itemsets. The proposed GA performs a database-independent approach that does not rely upon the minimum support and
the minimum confidence thresholds that are hard to determine for each database. Instead of randomly generated initial population,
uniform population that forces the initial population to be not far away from the solutions and distributes it in the feasible
region uniformly is used. An adaptive mutation probability, a new operator called uniform operator that ensures the genetic
diversity, and an efficient adjusted fitness function are used for mining all interesting ARs from the last population in

Fouling of cooling tower fills is one of the most important factors affecting its thermal performance, which reduces cooling tower effectiveness and capability with time. In this paper, the fouling model presented in an earlier paper using the experimental data on fill fouling, is used to investigate the risk based thermal performance of the cooling tower. It is demonstrated that effectiveness of the cooling tower degrades significantly with time indicating that for a low risk level (p=0.01), there is about 6.0% decrease in effectiveness for the given fouling model. The sensitivity analysis of the cooling tower is investigated for both rating and design calculation for different values of mass flow rate ratios. The effect of atmospheric pressure on the thermal performance of the cooling tower is also demonstrated. 相似文献

An efficient resource allocation is a fundamental requirement in high performance computing (HPC) systems. Many projects are dedicated to large-scale distributed computing systems that have designed and developed resource allocation mechanisms with a variety of architectures and services. In our study, through analysis, a comprehensive survey for describing resource allocation in various HPCs is reported. The aim of the work is to aggregate under a joint framework, the existing solutions for HPC to provide a thorough analysis and characteristics of the resource management and allocation strategies. Resource allocation mechanisms and strategies play a vital role towards the performance improvement of all the HPCs classifications. Therefore, a comprehensive discussion of widely used resource allocation strategies deployed in HPC environment is required, which is one of the motivations of this survey. Moreover, we have classified the HPC systems into three broad categories, namely: (a) cluster, (b) grid, and (c) cloud systems and define the characteristics of each class by extracting sets of common attributes. All of the aforementioned systems are cataloged into pure software and hybrid/hardware solutions.
