Samples of mesoporous silica SBA-15 were prepared under hydrothermal conditions where Cu cations were incorporated to the
structure by impregnation in order to compare the adsorption behavior in the presence and absence of this element. The adsorption/desorption
equilibrium isotherms of propylene, propane, and N2 were measured to evaluate their usefulness in the propane/propylene separation.
All the adsorption isotherms of SBA-15 measured in the absence of Cu cations were described by the Freundlich equation, while
the adsorption isotherms of propane on Cu/SBA-15 were better represented by the Henry equation and those of propylene were
satisfactorily described by the Langmuir model in the range P < 100 Torr. The adsorption uptake of propylene increased and that of propane decreased in Cu/SBA-15 as compared to the amounts
observed in the SBA-15 sample. The presence of Cu atoms in the adsorbent lattice increased the selectivity towards propylene.
Under some working conditions the adsorbed amount of propylene in Cu/SBA-15 sample was totally reversible and the propane

Preparation of fluoroacrylate nanocopolymer by miniemulsion polymerization used in textile finishing
Latex based on fluoroacrylate (TAN) and other comonomers was prepared via miniemulsion polymerization in the presence of stearyl trimethyl ammonium chloride (STAC) and 2, 2′‐azobis (2‐amidinopropane) dihydrochloride (ABAP) as a water soluble initiator. Light transmittance studies demonstrated that the light transmittance of prepared emulsions increases with the amount of TAN, STAC, cosolvent DPM, and hydrophobe DM. Given suitable reaction temperature and quantities of TAN, STAC, DPM, and DM, a copolymer emulsion of fluoroacylate with a particle size of 50 nm was produced. The water repellency tested on polyester fabrics displayed greater effectiveness than that of commercial products with higher fluorine content. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Pd-supported on WO3–ZrO2 (W/Zr atomic ratio=0.2) calcined at 1073 K was found to be highly active and selective for gas-phase oxidation of ethylene to acetic acid in the presence of water at 423 K and 0.6 MPa. Contact time dependence demonstrated that acetic acid is formed via acetaldehyde formed by a Wacker-type reaction, not through ethanol by hydration of ethylene. 相似文献

X‐ray diffraction methods, DSC thermal analysis, and polarized light microscopy (PLM) were used to investigate the structural changes of nylon 66/clay nanocomposites. PA 66/clay nanocomposites were prepared by the method of melt intercalation. The results indicate that the addition of the intercalated organo‐montmorillonite (OMMT) can induce generation of the β‐form crystal of PA 66 and substantially affect the arrangement of molecules in the α‐form crystal, although the crystallinity scarcely changes. Also, the DSC results indicate that the addition of OMMT in the PA 66 matrix leads to increases of crystallization temperatures and the full width at half maximum (FWHM) of the exothermic peaks. Moreover, the viscosity factor is the main influence on FWHM of the exothermic peaks of PA 66/clay nanocomposites. The results of nonisothermal crystallization kinetics show that OMMT has the effect of heterogeneous nucleation and leads to the decrease of the size of the spherocrystal. The heterogeneous nucleation effects of OMMTs influence the mechanism of crystallization and the growth mode of PA 66 crystals. This work was initiated to prepare protein-stabilized β-carotene nanodispersions using emulsification–evaporation. A pre-mix
of the aqueous phase composed of a protein and hexane containing β-carotene was subjected to high-pressure homogenization
using a microfluidizer. Hexane in the resulting emulsion was evaporated under reduced pressures, causing crystallization and
precipitation of β-carotene inside the droplets and formation of β-carotene nanoparticles. Sodium caseinate (SC) was the most
effective emulsifier among selected proteins in preparing the nanodispersion, with a monomodal β-carotene particle-size distribution
and a 17-nm mean particle size. The results were confirmed by transmission-electron microscopy analysis. SC-stabilized nanodispersion
also had considerably high ζ-potential (−27 mV at pH 7), suggesting that the nanodispersion was stable against particle aggregation.
Increasing the SC concentration decreased the mean particle size and improved the polydispersity of the nanodispersions. Nanodispersions
prepared with higher β-carotene concentrations and higher organic-phase ratios resulted in larger β-carotene particles. Although
increased microfluidization pressure did not decrease particle size, it did improve the polydispersity of the nanodispersions.
Repeating the microfluidization process at 140 MPa caused the nanodispersions to become polydisperse, indicating the loss
of emulsifying capacity of SC due to protein denaturation. 相似文献
