Widespread use of GPS and similar technologies makes it possible to collect extensive amounts of trajectory data. These data sets are essential for reasonable decision making in various application domains. Additional information, such as events taking place along a trajectory, makes data analysis challenging, due to data size and complexity. We present an integrated solution for interactive visual analysis and exploration of events along trajectories data. Our approach supports analysis of event sequences at three different levels of abstraction, namely spatial, temporal, and events themselves. Customized views as well as standard views are combined to form a coordinated multiple views system. In addition to trajectories and events, we include on-the-fly derived data in the analysis. We evaluate our integrated solution using the IEEE VAST 2015 Challenge data set. A successful detection and characterization of malicious activity indicate the usefulness and efficiency of the presented approach.  相似文献

Distributed Online Social Networks (DOSN) are a valid alternative to OSN based on peer-to-peer communications. Without centralised data management, DOSN must provide the users with higher level of control over their personal information and privacy. Thus, users may wish to restrict their personal network to a limited set of peers, depending on the level of trust with them. This means that the effective social network (used for information exchange) may be a subset of the complete social network, and may present different structural patterns, which could limit information diffusion. In this paper, we estimate the capability of DOSN to diffuse content based on trust between social peers. To have a realistic representation of a OSN friendship graph, we consider a large-scale Facebook network, from which we estimate the trust level between friends. Then, we consider only social links above a certain threshold of trust, and we analyse the potential capability of the resulting graph to spread information through several structural indices. We test four possible thresholds, coinciding with the definition of personal social circles derived from sociology and anthropology. The results show that limiting the network to “active social contacts” leads to a graph with high network connectivity, where the nodes are still well-connected to each other, thus information can potentially cover a large number of nodes with respect to the original graph. On the other hand, the coverage drops for more restrictive assumptions. Nevertheless the re-insertion of a single excluded friend for each user is sufficient to obtain good coverage (i.e., always higher than 40 %) even in the most restricted graphs. We also analyse the potential capability of the network to spread information (i.e., network spreadability), studying the properties of the social paths between any pairs of users in the graph, which represent the effective channels traversed by information. The value of contact frequency between pairs of users determines a decay of trust along the path (the higher the contact frequency the lower the decay), and a consequent decay in the level of trustworthiness of information traversing the path. We show that selecting the link to re-insert in the network with probability proportional to its level of trust is the best re-insertion strategy, as it leads to the best connectivity/spreadability combination.  相似文献

The quantification of greenhouse gases (GHG) emissions represents a critical issue for the future development of agro‐food produces. Consumers' behaviour could play an important role in requiring environmental performance as an essential element for food quality. Nowadays, the carbon footprint (CFP) is a tool used worldwide by agro‐food industries to communicate environmental information. This paper aims to investigate the role that CFP could have in consumers' choices in three significant agro‐food sectors in the Mediterranean area: wine, olive oil and cereals. A critical review about the use of CFP was carried out along the supply chain of these three sectors, in order to identify opportunities for enhancing food quality and environmental sustainability and highlighting how environmental information could influence consumers' preferences. The analysis of the state of the art shows a great variability of the results about GHG emissions referred to agricultural and industrial processes. In many cases, the main environmental criticisms are linked to the agricultural phase, but the other phases of the supply chain could also contribute to the increased CFP. However, despite the wide use of CFP by companies as a communication tool to help consumers' choices in agro‐food products, some improvements are needed in order to provide clearer and more understandable information. © 2016 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

The oxidation of nitrite and nitrous acid to *NO2 upon irradiation of dissolved Fe(III), ferric (hydr)oxides, and nitrate has previously been shown to enhance phenol nitration. This allowed the proposal of a new role for nitrite and nitrous acid in natural waters and atmospheric aerosols. This paper deals with the interaction between hydrogen peroxide, a key environmental factor in atmospheric oxidative chemistry, and nitrite/nitrous acid. The reaction between nitrous acid and hydrogen peroxide yields peroxynitrous acid, a powerful nitrating agent and an important intermediate in atmospheric chemistry. The kinetics of this reaction is compatible with a rate-determining step involving either H3O2+ and HNO2 or H2O2 and protonated nitrous acid. In the former case the rate constant between the two species would be 179.6 +/- 1.4 M(-1) s(-1), in the latter case it would be as high as (1.68 +/- 0.01) x 10(10) M(-1) s(-1) (diffusion-controlled reaction). Due to the more reasonable value of the rate constant, the reaction between H3O2+ and HNO2 seems more likely. In the presence of HNO2 + H2O2 the nitration of phenol is strongly enhanced when compared with HNO2 alone. The nitration rate of phenol in the presence of peroxynitrous acid decreases as pH increases, thus HOONO is a potential source of atmospheric nitroaromatic compounds in acidic water droplets. The mixture Fe(II) + H2O2 (Fenton reagent) can oxidize nitrite and nitrous acid to nitrogen dioxide, which results in phenol nitration. The nitration in the presence of Fe(II) + H2O2 + NO2-/HNO2 occurs more rapidly than the one with H2O2 + NO2-/HNO2 at pH 5, where little HNO2 is available to directly react with hydrogen peroxide. Both systems, however, are more effective than NO2-/HNO2 alone in producing nitrophenols from phenol. Another process leading to the oxidation of nitrite to nitrogen dioxide is the photo-Fenton one. It can be relevant at pH > or = 6, as nitrite does not react with H2O2 at room temperature. Under such conditions the source of Fe(II) is the photolysis of ferric (hydr)oxides (heterogeneous photo-Fenton reaction). In the presence of nitrite this reaction induces very effective nitrophenol formation from phenol.  相似文献

MPC or model predictive control is representative of control methods which are able to handle inequality constraints. Closed-loop stability can therefore be ensured only locally in the presence of constraints of this type. However, if the system is neutrally stable, and if the constraints are imposed only on the input, global asymptotic stability can be obtained; until recently, use of infinite horizons was thought to be inevitable in this case. A globally stabilizing finite-horizon MPC has lately been suggested for neutrally stable continuous-time systems using a non-quadratic terminal cost which consists of cubic as well as quadratic functions of the state. The idea originates from the so-called small gain control, where the global stability is proven using a non-quadratic Lyapunov function. The newly developed finite-horizon MPC employs the same form of Lyapunov function as the terminal cost, thereby leading to global asymptotic stability. A discrete-time version of this finite-horizon MPC is presented here. Furthermore, it is proved that the closed-loop system resulting from the proposed MPC is ISS (Input-to-State Stable), provided that the external disturbance is sufficiently small. The proposed MPC algorithm is also coded using an SQP (Sequential Quadratic Programming) algorithm, and simulation results are given to show the effectiveness of the method.  相似文献

We consider the representable equational theory of binary relations, in a language expressing composition, converse, and lattice operations. By working directly with a presentation of relation expressions as graphs we are able to define a notion of reduction which is confluent and strongly normalizing and induces a notion of computable normal form for terms. This notion of reduction thus leads to a computational interpretation of the representable theory.  相似文献

Fibrosis is the strongest predictor for disease-specific mortality in non-alcoholic fatty liver diseases (NAFLD), but the need for liver biopsy limits its diagnosis. We assessed the performance of plasma ficolin-2 (FCN-2) as a biomarker of fibrosis identified by an in silico discovery strategy. Two hundred and thirty-five morbidly obese (MO) subjects with biopsy-proven NAFLD stratified by fibrosis stage (F0, n = 44; F1, n = 134; F2, n = 46; F3/F4, n = 11) and 40 cirrhotic patients were enrolled. The cohort was subdivided into discovery (n = 76) and validation groups (n = 159). The plasma level of FCN-2 and other candidate markers was determined. FCN-2 was inversely correlated with the stage of liver fibrosis (ρ = −0.49, p < 0.001) independently of steatosis (p = 0.90), inflammation (p = 0.57), and ballooning (p = 0.59). In the global cohort, FCN-2 level decreased significantly in a stepwise fashion from F0/F1 (median 4753 ng/mL) to F2–F3–F4 (2760 ng/mL) and in cirrhotic subjects (1418 ng/mL). The diagnostic performance of FCN-2 in detecting F ≥ 2 was higher than other indexes (APRI, FIB-4) (AUROC 0.82, 0.68, and 0.6, respectively). The accuracy improved when combined with APRI score and HDL values (FCNscore, AUROC 0.85). Overall, the FCN-2 plasma level can accurately discriminate liver fibrosis status (minimal vs. moderate/advanced) significantly improving the fibrosis diagnostic algorithms.  相似文献

Activation of P2X7 signaling, due to high glucose levels, leads to blood retinal barrier (BRB) breakdown, which is a hallmark of diabetic retinopathy (DR). Furthermore, several studies report that high glucose (HG) conditions and the related activation of the P2X7 receptor (P2X7R) lead to the over-expression of pro-inflammatory markers. In order to identify novel P2X7R antagonists, we carried out virtual screening on a focused compound dataset, including indole derivatives and natural compounds such as caffeic acid phenethyl ester derivatives, flavonoids, and diterpenoids. Molecular Mechanics/Generalized Born Surface Area (MM/GBSA) rescoring and structural fingerprint clustering of docking poses from virtual screening highlighted that the diterpenoid dihydrotanshinone (DHTS) clustered with the well-known P2X7R antagonist JNJ47965567. A human-based in vitro BRB model made of retinal pericytes, astrocytes, and endothelial cells was used to assess the potential protective effect of DHTS against HG and 2′(3′)-O-(4-Benzoylbenzoyl)adenosine-5′-triphosphate (BzATP), a P2X7R agonist, insult. We found that HG/BzATP exposure generated BRB breakdown by enhancing barrier permeability (trans-endothelial electrical resistance (TEER)) and reducing the levels of ZO-1 and VE-cadherin junction proteins as well as of the Cx-43 mRNA expression levels. Furthermore, HG levels and P2X7R agonist treatment led to increased expression of pro-inflammatory mediators (TLR-4, IL-1β, IL-6, TNF-α, and IL-8) and other molecular markers (P2X7R, VEGF-A, and ICAM-1), along with enhanced production of reactive oxygen species. Treatment with DHTS preserved the BRB integrity from HG/BzATP damage. The protective effects of DHTS were also compared to the validated P2X7R antagonist, JNJ47965567. In conclusion, we provided new findings pointing out the therapeutic potential of DHTS, which is an inhibitor of P2X7R, in terms of preventing and/or counteracting the BRB dysfunctions elicited by HG conditions.  相似文献
