The development of a methodology to forecast accurately the power produced by photovoltaic systems can be an important tool for the dissemination and integration of such systems on the public electricity grids. Thus, the objective of this study was to forecast the power production of a 1‐MW photovoltaic power plant in Kitakyushu, Japan, using a new methodology based on support vector machines and on the use of several numerically predicted weather variables, including cloudiness. Hourly forecasts of the power produced for 1 year were carried out. Moreover, the effect of the use of numerically predicted cloudiness on the quality of the forecasts was also investigated. The forecasts of power production obtained with the proposed methodology had a root mean square error of 0.0948 MW h and a mean absolute error of 0.058 MW h. It was also found that the forecast and measured values of power production had a good level of correlation varying from 0.8 to 0.88 according to the season of the year. Finally, the use of numerically predicted cloudiness had an important role in the accuracy of the forecasts, and when cloudiness was not used, the root mean square error of the forecasts increased more than 32%, and the mean absolute error increased more than 42%. Silicon nanowires have been implemented in microfabricated structures to develop planar thermoelectric microgenerators (??TEGs) monolithically integrated in silicon to convert heat flow from thermal gradients naturally present in the environment into electrical energy. The compatibility of typical microfabrication technologies and the vapor?Cliquid?Csolid (VLS) mechanism employed for silicon nanowire growth has been evaluated. Low-thermal-mass suspended structures have been designed, simulated, and microfabricated on silicon-on-insulator substrates to passively generate thermal gradients and operate as microgenerators using silicon nanowires as thermoelectric material. Both electrical measurements to evaluate the connectivity of the nanowires and thermoreflectance imaging to determine the heat transfer along the device have been employed.  相似文献

The estimates for the year 2009 predict that 466,730 new cancer cases would occur in Brazil. Prostate cancer is the second most incident in our country, with almost 50,000 new cases in 2009. Brachytherapy, a type of radiotherapy, with iodine-125 sources is an important form of treatment for this kind of cancer. The “Instituto de Pesquisas Energéticas e Nucleares” (Institute for Nuclear and Energy Research - IPEN) created a project to produce a national prototype of these sources and develop a facility for local production. Manufacturing seeds locally will diminish the overall treatment cost making such treatment available to a larger number of patients. While the laboratory is under development, the IPEN imports and distributes seeds. This work aims to present and evaluate the radiological protection procedures applied to imported sources in order to assist in the setup of the new laboratory. Although iodine-125 presents low energy photons, around 29 keV, local and personal dosimeters are used during the separation and distribution process of seeds as described in CNEN NN 3.01 standard “Diretrizes Básicas de Proteção Radiológica” (Radiological Protection Basic Guidelines). All testing has demonstrated that there is no area contamination and very low exposure, suggesting that the application of the standards outlined in CNEN NN 3.01 has been effective. As a result of this work, a new dosimeter should be installed and evaluated in a future study.  相似文献

Lactic acid-grown cells of a strain of Kluyveromyces marxianus transported D- and L-lactic acid by a saturable mechanism that was partially inducible and subject to glucose repression, with the following kinetic parameters at pH 5.4: Vmax = 1.00 (+/- 0.13) mmol h-1 per g dry weight and Ks = 0.42 (+/- 0.08) mM. Lactic acid transport was competitively inhibited by pyruvic, glycolic, acetic and bromoacetic acids. The latter, a non-metabolizable analogue, was transiently accumulated, the extent depending on the extracellular pH. The pH dependence of the Ks values for undissociated lactic acid and for the lactate anion indicated that the latter was the transported species. Lactate uptake was not accompanied by the simultaneous uptake of protons, potassium ions or sodium ions excluding symport mechanisms. Initial lactic acid uptake led to transient membrane hyperpolarization as measured with a fluorescent dye excluding also an electroneutral anion antiport mechanism. It was concluded that lactate anions use a monocarboxylate uniport and that the counter anion, possibly bicarbonate, uses a separate channel, the coupling being electrical and loose.  相似文献

This study assessed the effects of slope exposure, altitude and yield on several cup quality criteria of coffees from two altitude terroirs of Costa Rica, Orosi (between 1020 and 1250 m above sea level) and Santa María de Dota (between 1550 and 1780 m above sea level). East‐facing slopes gave beverages with generally superior attributes, probably owing to better exposure to morning sunlight. These beverages were mainly more acid: at Orosi an acidity score of 2.73 out of 5 was obtained (3.64 for Santa María de Dota) for eastern exposures, as opposed to 2.36 on average (3.28 for Santa María de Dota) for other exposures. In addition, a positive relation was found between altitude and taster preferences in both terroirs. A negative relation was also found between yield and beverage acidity at Santa María de Dota, where some coffee trees produced up to 13 kg of coffee cherry. Coffees from Orosi were characterised by a floral flavour, which depended on slope exposure, whilst coffees from Santa María de Dota displayed a chocolate taste, which was more marked at high altitude. In both terroirs the caffeine, trigonelline, fat, sucrose and chlorogenic acid contents were not well correlated with the sensory characteristics. The essential amino acid L-tryptophan can be produced by a condensation reaction between indole and L-serine, catalyzed by whole cells of Escherichia coli B1t-7A with tryptophanase activity. The reaction was previously studied using soluble tryptophanase, a kinetic mechanism proposed and the catalytic properties of the enzyme described. It is important, however, to determine the kinetic parameters of the reaction catalyzed by whole cells, if the process is to be designed with the catalyst in this form. The reaction stoichiometry was established, a mole of product being formed from a mole of each reactant, with no indication of side reactions under the conditions used. The two-substrate reaction kinetics were characterized and modelled, assuming an enzyme-substituted mechanism and no product inhibition. Theoretical consumption rates of indole were compared with experimental values obtained in a batch reactor system. The K(m) values of whole cells towards L-serine and indole were 1.79 M and 0.07 M, respectively. These values are, as expected, considerably higher than their counterparts for soluble tryptophanase.  相似文献

Three series of bithiophene azo dyes functionalized with thiazol-2-yl or benzothiazol-2-yl-diazene acceptor moieties were synthesized through azo coupling reaction using 2,2′-bithiophene, 5-alkoxy-2,2′-bithiophenes, 5-N,N-dialkylamino-2,2′-bithiophenes and thiazolyl- and benzothiazolyl diazonium salts as coupling components. The 5-alkoxy-2,2′-bithiophene precursors yielded the 5-thiazolylazo-5′-alkoxy-2,2′-bithiophenes, while the azo coupling reaction of 5-N,N-dialkylamino-2,2′-bithiophenes with the thiazolyl diazonium salt gave 4-thiazolyl-azo-5-N,N-dialkylamino-2,2′-bithiophenes. A different reactivity behavior was observed for 2,2-bithiophene with thiazolyl diazonium salts which gave rise to the expected azo dyes together with several arylation products. The redox behavior, thermal stability, and the first hyperpolarizability of the novel chromophores were evaluated through cyclic voltammetry, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and hyper-Rayleigh scattering (HRS) respectively. By varying the position of the thiazolyldiazene acceptor group on the bithiophene system, the electrochemical behavior as well as the optical (linear and nonlinear) properties of the donor-acceptor π-conjugated systems can readily be tuned. Push-pull 5-thiazolylazo-5′-alkoxy-2,2′-bithiophenes exhibit the most promising redox and the solvatochromic properties and second-order nonlinear optical response. The redox and the optical properties also show notable variations for the different heterocyclic spacers and were also sensitive to the electronic acceptor strength of the (benzo)thiazolyldiazene moieties.  相似文献

In an attempt to enrich the world of dentistry through the development of new materials, this study proposes to synthesize and incorporate a monomer containing the N-hydroxysuccinimide (NHS) ester reactive group to a dental adhesive. As such, this study developed a simple method to obtain NHS esters by employing acrylic acid (AA) and NHS in the presence of EDC (N-ethyl-N′-(3-dimethylaminopropyl)carbodiimide), from an aprotic medium. The experimental N-acryloxysuccinimide (NSA) monomer was analyzed by infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and nuclear magnetic resonance of hydrogen (1H NMR). This monomer was then incorporated within a prepared dental adhesive, in a 5% proportion. The modified adhesive, containing NSA, was applied to the dental surface of bovine teeth to obtain an adhesive/dentin interface in vitro. The characterization of this interface by Raman spectroscopy presented the formation of new amide bonds. Moreover, through scanning electron microscopy (SEM), it became possible to observe an intense penetration of this modified adhesive on the dental surface. Considering the outcome, it can be concluded that the synthesized NSA monomer provided a favorable condition for the dental adhesives to interact chemically with the dentin collagen fibers.  相似文献

Solanum paludosum extracts obtained by maceration (SP-EtOHCRUDE and SP-EtOHMARC) and supercritical fluid extraction (SP-SFECO2) were evaluated. Three extracts with distinct chromatographic profiles were obtained: SP-EtOHCRUDE, with a complex phenolic composition; SP-SFECO2, containing methoxylated flavonoids; and SP-EtOHMARC, which bears mainly polar polyphenols. All extracts were strong antioxidants, as measured using the diphenylpicrylhydrazyl (DPPH) method, xanthine/xanthine oxidase/luminol and iron-induced lipid peroxidation systems. Extracts were also evaluated as modifiers of antibiotic activity in strains of Staphylococcus aureus expressing fluoroquinolone, macrolide and tetracycline efflux proteins. Despite their lack of antibacterial activity, all extracts were able to potentiate antibiotics activities by as much as eight fold. Both the maceration and supercritical fluid extraction processes were adequate to obtain extracts with different biological activities according to their patterns of phenolic compounds. The data suggest that S. paludosum could be a valuable source of antioxidants and putative efflux pumps inhibitors.  相似文献
