Uniform nanostructure anatase films were coated on 316L stainless steel by the sol-gel dip coating method. Sols with different values of pH were applied. The corrosion protective behavior of coated samples was investigated by electrochemical measurements in 0.5 molar NaCl solutions on samples placed under UV illumination and dark condition using Tafel curves. It was found that in addition to acting as a physical barrier, anatase thin films are more protective under UV illumination due to photocathodic protection. Neutral sols give better protection due to formation of more uniform and less defective coatings. 相似文献

In this work successful synthesis of multiwall carbon nanotube (CNT) using solution combustion and chemical vapor deposition (CVD) methods are reported. Ceramic nanocomposite samples of (Al2?xFexO3)–(y)ZrO2 formula with x = 0.017, 0.034 and 0.17 and y = 0.15 were initially prepared. These were then subjected to CVD process during which the in situ reduction of iron oxide to metallic iron (Fe/Fe3C) phase/s provided the necessary catalyst for the CNT formation. The formation of long flexible filaments with a smooth and regular surface bridging between alumina–zirconia (AZ) grains could be detected. The diameters of the formed filaments were in the range of ~70 to ~320 nm and length of the order of some tens of micrometers. However, transmission electron microscope (TEM) examinations also revealed the existence of small amounts of Bamboo-like carbon along with more or less straight CNTs. This could be related to the lack of strong interactions between the metallic iron phase/s and the nanocomposite support. 相似文献

Six new optically active poly(amide-imide)s were synthesized by poly condensation reaction of 2,5-bis(4-aminophenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole
(8) with six chiral N,N′-(bicyclo[2,2,2]oct-7-ene-2,3,5,6-tetracarboxylic)-bis-l-amino acids (3a–f) in a medium consisting of N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP), triphenylphosphite (TPP), calcium chloride (CaCl2), and pyridine. Chiral N,N′-(bicyclo[2,2,2]oct-7-ene-2,3,5,6-tetracarboxylic)-bis-l-amino acids (3a–f) were obtained by the reaction of bicyclo[2.2.2]-oct-7-ene-2,3,5,6-tetracarboxylic dianhydride (1) with two equimolar of l-alanine (2a), l-valine (2b), l-leucine (2c), l-isoleucine (2d), l-phenyl alanine (2e), and l-2-aminobutyric acid (2f) in acetic acid. The poly condensation reaction produced a series of novel poly(amide-imide)s (9a–f) in high yield and with inherent viscosities between 0.30 and 0.52 dL/g. A red pigment has been prepared by substituting chromium ions in aluminum ion sites in YAlO3 perovskite structure. In a first step, effect of various mineralizers on YAlO3 formation has been investigated, which resulted in decrease of formation temperature down to 1400 °C. In the next step, a red pigment corresponding to YAl1−yCryO3 (y = 0.05), has been prepared by heating a mixture containing Y2O3, Al2O3 and Cr2O3 at 1500 °C for 6 h. Later, effect of the doped chromium amount on the pigment redness (a*) has been studied. The highest redness has been obtained when y was 0.04(YAl1−yCryO3). Application of the prepared red pigment in low and high temperature glazes, demonstrated its high chemical and thermal stability. 相似文献

Pyromellitic dianhydride (1,2,4,5‐benzenetetracarboxylic acid 1,2,4,5‐dianhydide) was reacted with L ‐valine in a mixture of acetic acid and pyridine (3:2) at room temperature, and then was refluxed at 90–100 °C, N,N′‐(pyromellitoyl)‐bis‐L ‐valine diacid was obtained in quantitative yield. The imide–acid was converted to N,N′‐(pyromellitoyl)‐bis‐L ‐valine diacid chloride by reaction with thionyl chloride. Rapid and highly efficient synthesis of a number of poly(amide–imide)s was achieved under microwave irradiation using a domestic microwave oven by polycondensation of N,N′‐(pyromellitoyl)‐bis‐L ‐valine diacid chloride with six different derivatives of 5,5‐disubstituted hydantoin compounds in the presence of a small amount of a polar organic medium that acts as a primary microwave absorber. A suitable organic medium was o‐cresol. The polycondensation proceeded rapidly, compared with conventional melt polycondensation and solution polycondensation and was almost completed within 8 min, giving a series of poly(amide–imide)s with inherent viscosities in the range 0.15–0.36 dl g?1. The resulting poly(amide–imide)s were obtained in high yield and are optically active and thermally stable. All of the above compounds were fully characterized by Fourier‐transform infrared (FT‐IR) spectroscopy, elemental analysis, inherent viscosity (ηinh) measurements, solubility testing and specific rotation measurements. This study aims to develop several optimization techniques for predicting advance rate of tunnel boring machine(TBM)in different weathered zones of granite.For this purpose,extensive field and laboratory studies have been conducted along the 12,649 m of the Pahang-Selangor raw water transfer tunnel in Malaysia.Rock properties consisting of uniaxial compressive strength(UCS),Brazilian tensile strength(BTS),rock mass rating(RMR),rock quality designation(RQD),quartz content(q)and weathered zone as well as machine specifications including thrust force and revolution per minute(RPM)were measured to establish comprehensive datasets for optimization.Accordingly,to estimate the advance rate of TBM,two new hybrid optimization techniques,i.e.an artificial neural network(ANN)combined with both imperialist competitive algorithm(ICA)and particle swarm optimization(PSO),were developed for mechanical tunneling in granitic rocks.Further,the new hybrid optimization techniques were compared and the best one was chosen among them to be used for practice.To evaluate the accuracy of the proposed models for both testing and training datasets,various statistical indices including coefficient of determination(R~2),root mean square error(RMSE)and variance account for(VAF)were utilized herein.The values of R~2,RMSE,and VAF ranged in 0.939-0.961,0.022-0.036,and 93.899-96.145,respectively,with the PSO-ANN hybrid technique demonstrating the best performance.It is concluded that both the optimization techniques,i.e.PSO-ANN and ICA-ANN,could be utilized for predicting the advance rate of TBMs;however,the PSO-ANN technique is superior. 相似文献

Some results of experiments on the mechanical and rheological properties of mineral filled polypropylene were presented. Single filler and hybrid filler composites of talc and calcium carbonate (CaCO3) were prepared in a co‐rotating twin‐screw extruder. The effect of filler type, filler content, and coupling agent on the mechanical and rheological properties of the polypropylene were studied. The coupling agent was maleic anhydride‐grafted polypropylene (PP‐g‐MA). It was found that the mechanical properties are affected by filler type, filler concentration, and the interaction between filler and matrix. The tensile strength of the composite is more affected by the talc while the impact strength is influenced mostly by CaCO3 content. The elongation at break of PP/CaCO3 composites was higher than that of PP/talc composites. The incorporation of coupling agent into PP/mineral filler composites increased the mechanical properties. Rheological properties indicated that the complex viscosity and storage modulus of talc filled samples were higher than those of calcium carbonate filled samples while the tan δ was lower. The rheological properties of hybrid‐filler filled sample were more affected by the talc than calcium carbonate. Aseptic loosening induced by wear particles from artificial bearing materials is one of the main causes of malfunctioning in total hip replacements. With the increase in young and active patients, complications in revision surgeries and immense health care costs, there is considerable interest in wear-resistant materials that can endure longer in the harsh and corrosive body environment. Here, the tribological behaviour of nanostructured titanium substrates processed by high-pressure torsion (HPT) is investigated and compared with the coarse-grained samples. The high resolution transmission electron microscopy reveals that a nanostructured sample has a grain size of 5-10?nm compared to that of ~ 10?μm and ~ 50?μm for untreated and annealed substrates, respectively. Dry and wet wear tests were performed using a linear reciprocating ball-on-flat tribometer. Nanostructured samples show the best dry wear resistance and the lowest wear rate in the electrolyte. There was significantly lower plastic deformation and no change in preferred orientation of nanostructured samples attributable to the wear process. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) shows lower corrosion resistance for nanostructured samples. However, under the action of both wear and corrosion the nanostructured samples show superior performance and that makes them an attractive candidate for applications in which wear and corrosion act simultaneously. 相似文献
