The hydrogen absorption of sodium intercalated fullerenes (NaxC60) was determined and compared to pure fullerenes (C60). Up to 3.5 mass% hydrogen can reversibly be absorbed in NaxC60 at 200 °C and a hydrogen pressure of 200 bar. The absorbed amount of hydrogen is significantly higher than for the case when only the sodium would be hydrogenated (∼1 mass% for x = 10). At 200 bar the onset of hydrogen absorption is observed at 150 °C. At a pressure of 1 bar hydrogen the major desorption starts at 250 °C and is completed at 300 °C (heating rate 1 °C min−1). This absorption and desorption temperatures are significantly reduced compared to pure C60, either due to a catalytic reaction of hydrogen on sodium or due to the negatively charged C60. The hydrogen ab/desorption is accompanied by a partial de/reintercalation of sodium. A minor part of the hydrogen is ionically bonded in NaH and the major part is covalently bonded in C60Hx. The sample can be fully dehydrogenated and no NaH is left after desorption. In contrast to C60, where the fullerene cages for high hydrogen loadings are destroyed during the sorption process, the NaxC60 sample stays intact. The samples were investigated by X-ray, in-situ neutron powder diffraction and infrared spectroscopy. NaxC60 was synthesized by reacting sodium azide (NaN3) with C60 (molar ratio of Na:C60 is 10:1).  相似文献

The accurate co-alignment of the transmitter to the receiver of the BepiColombo Laser Altimeter is a challenging task for which an original alignment concept had to be developed. We present here the design, construction and testing of a large collimator facility built to fulfill the tight alignment requirements. We describe in detail the solution found to attenuate the high energy of the instrument laser transmitter by an original beam splitting pentaprism group. We list the different steps of the calibration of the alignment facility and estimate the errors made at each of these steps. We finally prove that the current facility is ready for the alignment of the flight instrument. Its angular accuracy is 23 μrad.  相似文献

This paper experimentally evaluates the assessment of precise point positioning (PPP) using the Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) Ultra-Rapid GPS products to serve as a short latency time-transfer tool to assist timing laboratories in operational maintenance of frequency standards and time scale dissemination. In this study we present the comparison of the performance of two systems to measure intraocular scattering. Measurements were made by using a psychophysical system based on a brightness comparison method that provides a glare index and a physical system based on the double-pass technique, which gives an objective scatter index by measuring the optical quality of the eye. Three external diffuser filters that simulated different grades of intraocular scattering were used in subjects with normal vision. The two measured indexes showed a graded rise with increasing level of scattering. The discrimination ability obtained for both systems showed that they were able to distinguish among conditions ranging from normal to early cataracts.  相似文献

The growth of semiconductor nanowires (NWs) has recently opened new paths to silicon integration of device families such as light-emitting diodes, high-efficiency photovoltaics, or high-responsivity photodetectors. It is also offering a wealth of new approaches for the development of a future generation of nanoelectronic devices. Here we demonstrate that semiconductor nanowires can also be used as building blocks for the realization of high-sensitivity terahertz detectors based on a 1D field-effect transistor configuration. In order to take advantage of the low effective mass and high mobilities achievable in III-V compounds, we have used InAs nanowires, grown by vapor-phase epitaxy, and properly doped with selenium to control the charge density and to optimize source-drain and contact resistance. The detection mechanism exploits the nonlinearity of the transfer characteristics: the terahertz radiation field is fed at the gate-source electrodes with wide band antennas, and the rectified signal is then read at the output in the form of a DC drain voltage. Significant responsivity values (>1 V/W) at 0.3 THz have been obtained with noise equivalent powers (NEP) < 2 × 10(-9) W/(Hz)(1/2) at room temperature. The large existing margins for technology improvements, the scalability to higher frequencies, and the possibility of realizing multipixel arrays, make these devices highly competitive as a future solution for terahertz detection.  相似文献

We report the growth of InAs/InAs(1-x)Sb(x) single and double heterostructured nanowires by Au-assisted chemical beam epitaxy. The InAs(1-x)Sb(x) nanowire segments have been characterized in a wide range of antimony compositions. Significant lateral growth is observed at intermediate compositions (x ~ 0.5), and the nucleation and step-flow mechanism leading to this lateral growth has been identified and described. Additionally, CuPt ordering of the alloy has been observed with high resolution transmission electron microscopy, and it is correlated to the lateral growth process. We also show that it is possible to regrow InAs above the InAsSb alloy segment, at least up to an intermediate antimony composition. Such double heterostructures might find applications both as mid-infrared detectors and as building blocks of electronic devices taking advantage of the outstanding electronic and thermal properties of antimonide compound semiconductors.  相似文献

The transforming growth factor β1 (TGF-β1) is a human cytokine which has been demonstrated to modulate cell surface integrin repertoire. In this work integrin expression in response to TGF-β1 stimulation has been investigated on the surface of human osteoblast-like cells. We used atomic force microscopy (AFM) and confocal laser scanning microscopy to assess integrin expression and to evaluate their distribution over the dorsal side of the plasma membrane. AFM probes have been covalently functionalised with monoclonal antibodies specific to the β1 integrin subunit. Force curves have been collected in order to obtain maps of the interaction between the immobilized antibody and the respective cell membrane receptors. Adhesion peaks have been automatically detected by means of an ad hoc developed data analysis software. The specificity of the detected interactions has been assessed by adding free antibody in the solution and monitoring the dramatic decrease in the recorded interactions. In addition, the effect of TGF-β1 treatment on both the fluorescence signal and the adhesion events has been tested. The level of expression of the β1 integrin subunit was enhanced by TGF-β1. As a further analysis, the adhesion force of the single living cells to the substrate was measured by laterally pushing the cell with the AFM tip and measuring the force necessary to displace it. The treatment with TGF-β1 resulted in a decrease of the cell/substrate adhesion force. Results obtained by AFM have been validated by confocal laser scanning microscopy thus demonstrating the high potential of the AFM technique for the investigation of cell surface receptors distribution and trafficking at the nanoscale.  相似文献
