A two-dimensional mathematical model for a planar SOFC (solid oxide fuel cell) is constructed. The distribution of the chemical species, the temperature and the performance (power) and the current density were calculated using a single-unit model with double channels of co-flow pattern. The finite volume method was employed for the calculation. The method was based on the fundamental conservation laws of continuity, momentum, energy and mass. The equations are implemented in FORTRAN language. The effects of several heat sources and flow rates on the calculated results were also investigated. The reference SOFC polarization curve has been calculated by imposing a uniform temperature of 800 K, a pressure equal to 1 atm; H2 and O2 molar fractions equal to 0.97 and 0.21 respectively. Results of temperature, chemical species distributions, performance and efficiency under several heat sources are shown and discussed. At a current density of about 23500 A/m2, the power densities under all sources and chemical sources reached their maximums of 12965 W/m2 and 16209 W/m2 (i.e. 25% lower) respectively. However the temperature increment in the anode is analyzed toward all sources and chemical reaction. The temperature maximum values for each heat source type reached 1005.81 K and 984.69 K respectively.  相似文献

This article studies the performance of two metaheuristics, particle swarm optimization (PSO) and genetic algorithms (GA), for FIR filter design. The two approaches aim to find a solution to a given objective function but employ different strategies and computational effort to do so. PSO is a more recent heuristic search method than GA; its dynamics exploit the collaborative behavior of biological populations. Some researchers advocate the superiority of PSO over GA and highlight its capacity to solve complex problems thanks to its ease of implementation. In this paper, different versions of PSOs and GAs including our specific GA scheme are compared for FIR filter design. PSO generally outperforms standard GAs in some performance criteria, but our adaptive genetic algorithm is shown to be better on all criteria except CPU runtime. The study also underlines the importance of introducing intelligence in metaheuristics to make them more efficient by embedding self-tuning strategies. Furthermore, it establishes the potential complementarity of the approaches when solving this optimization problem.  相似文献

Poly (vinyl alcohol) hydrogels containing different concentrations of chitosan with molecular weight of 471 and 101 kDa were crosslinked by gamma irradiation at a dose of 25 kGy. The swelling behavior, gel content and morphological structure of the blend were investigated. The antibacterial effect, as a function of chitosan content and molecular weight in the hydrogel, was investigated against Escherichia coli and Bacillus subtilis. With increasing chitosan content the equilibrium degree of swelling of the blend increased and the gel fraction decreased. Results of antibacterial activity of chitosan revealed that chitosan was more effective in inhibiting growth of gram positive bacteria than that of gram negative ones. It was observed that, the chitosan content as well as its molecular weight has a direct influence on bacteria growth inhibition. The higher the chitosan content in the blend and the higher its initial molecular weight, the larger was the inhibition zone diameter. The bacteria growth inhibition was attributed to the diffusion of entrapped chitosan from the hydrogel blend to the culture medium.  相似文献

Beef patties containing natural antioxidants—cayenne hot pepper, red sweet pepper, lycopene‐rich tomato pulp (LRTP) and extract of tomato rich in lycopene (Lyc‐O‐Mato?)—and packaged in modified atmosphere were evaluated for storage stability at 2 ± 1 °C by measuring CIE a* values, surface metmyoglobin, TBARS, psychrotrophic bacteria counts and sensory off‐odour and discolouration. Results demonstrated that the addition of ground peppers (both sweet and hot) to beef patties delayed and inhibited very significantly (p < 0.05) the oxidation of both myoglobin and lipid as well as the growth of psychrotrophic bacteria. As a consequence, and according to instrumental and sensory results of meat colour and odour, the shelf life of beef patties was extended from about 4 to about 16 days. Capsaicinoid‐rich cayenne hot pepper exerted a more intense antioxidative effect than capsaicinoid‐free red sweet pepper. The addition of lycopene‐enriched tomato products (LOM and LRTP) was not as effective as treatment with peppers, although they exerted a significant (p < 0.05) antioxidative effect too, depending on the lycopene concentration. These tomato products delayed meat deterioration to a varying extent, so that the shelf life of treated beef patties ranged between 8 and 12 days. © 2003 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

Programming language concepts have inspired some networking design decisions. For example, concepts such as object encapsulation and interface invocation have been borrowed, at the time of their adoption, from an already well established object oriented programming paradigm. The authors suggest in this paper that it may be time again to revisit emerging software engineering programming paradigms to learn from them. More specifically, this paper discusses the practical tangling problem, embedded in conventional layer‐coupling (linking) network software design and highlighted by recent research proposals for cross layer design. The adopted solution is based on the aspect‐oriented programming paradigm. We show its programming efficiency, limitations and role in the seamless enforcement of multiple policy scenarios while emphasizing little design changes. The challenging problem of time synchronization in wireless sensor networks is considered in this paper, where a new distributed protocol is proposed for both local and multi-hop synchronization. The receiver-to-receiver paradigm is used, which has the advantage of reducing the time-critical-path and thus improving the accuracy compared to common sender-to-receiver protocols. The protocol is fully distributed and does not rely on any fixed reference. The role of the reference is divided amongst all nodes, while timestamp exchange is integrated with synchronization signals (beacons). This enables fast acquisition of timestamps that are used as samples to estimate relative synchronization parameters. An appropriate model is used to derive maximum likelihood estimators (MLE) and the Cramer-Rao lower bounds (CRLB) for both the offset-only, and the joint offset/skew estimation. The model permits to directly estimating relative parameters without using or referring to a reference’ clock. The proposed protocol is extended to multi-hop environment, where local synchronization is performed proactively and the resulted estimates are transferred to the intermediate/end-point nodes on-demand, i.e. as soon as a multi-hop communication that needs synchronization is initiated. On-demand synchronization is targeted for multi-hop synchronization instead of the always-on global synchronization model, which avoids periodic and continuous propagation of synchronization signals beyond a single-hop. Extension of local MLE estimators is proposed to derive relative multi-hop estimators. The protocol is compared by simulation to some state-of-the-art protocols, and results show much faster convergence of the proposed protocol. The difference has been on the order of more than twice compared to CS-MNS, more than ten times compared to RBS, and more than twenty times compared to TPSN. Results also show scalability of the proposed protocol concerning the multi-hop synchronization. The error does not exceed few microseconds for as much as 10 hops in R4Syn, while in CS-MNS, and TPSN, it reaches few tens of microseconds. Implementation and tests of the protocol on real sensor motes confirm microsecond level precision even in multi-hop scenarios, and high stability (long lifetime) of the skew/offset model.  相似文献

In order to comply with their commitments under the Kyoto Protocol, France and Germany participate in the European Union Emission Trading Scheme (EU ETS) which predominantly concerns the electricity-generation sectors. In this paper we ask whether the EU ETS provides the appropriate economic incentives to produce an efficient system in line with the Kyoto commitments. If so, electricity producers in the countries concerned should include the price of carbon in their cost functions. After identifying different sub-periods of the EU ETS during its pilot phase (2005–2007), we model the prices of various electricity contracts in France and Germany and look at the volatility of electricity prices around their fundamentals while evaluating the correlation between electricity prices in the two countries. We find that electricity producers in both countries were constrained to include the carbon price in their cost functions during the first two years of the EU ETS. Over this period, German electricity producers were more constrained than their French counterparts, and the inclusion of the carbon price in the electricity-generation cost function was much more stable in Germany than in France. We also find evidence of fuel switching in electricity generation in Germany after the collapse of the carbon market. Furthermore, the European market for emission allowances has greatly contributed to the partial alignment of the wholesale price of electricity in France to that in Germany.  相似文献

In this paper, a robust controller for a six degrees of freedom (6 DOF) octorotor helicopter control is proposed in presence of actuator and sensor faults. Neural networks (NN), interval type-2 fuzzy logic control (IT2FLC) approach and sliding mode control (SMC) technique are used to design a controller, named fault tolerant neural network interval type-2 fuzzy sliding mode controller (FTNNIT2FSMC), for each subsystem of the octorotor helicopter. The proposed control scheme allows avoiding difficult modeling, attenuating the chattering effect of the SMC, reducing the number of rules for the fuzzy controller, and guaranteeing the stability and the robustness of the system. The simulation results show that the FTNNIT2FSMC can greatly alleviate the chattering effect, tracking well in presence of actuator and sensor faults.  相似文献
