Recent developments in texture classification have shown that the proper integration of texture methods from different families leads to significant improvements in terms of classification rate compared to the use of a single family of texture methods. In order to reduce the computational burden of that integration process, a selection stage is necessary. In general, a large number of feature selection techniques have been proposed. However, a specific texture feature selection must be typically applied given a particular set of texture patterns to be classified. This paper describes a new texture feature selection algorithm that is independent of specific classification problems/applications and thus must only be run once given a set of available texture methods. The proposed application-independent selection scheme has been evaluated and compared to previous proposals on both Brodatz compositions and complex real images.  相似文献

The aim of this study is to understand aging phenomena by monitoring physical parameters after real and simulated aging experiments. This study focuses on aluminum‐epoxy assemblies, which are commonly used on spacecraft structures. Different samples are submitted to simulated aging tests. Influence of temperature and moisture is analyzed. Evolution with aging is characterized at two different scales. The macroscopic behavior of the assemblies is studied by single lap shear test. A decrease in the shear rupture stress is observed with increasing temperature and relative humidity. It is demonstrated that temperature has more important influence. The molecular behavior in the adhesive joint is studied by dynamic dielectric spectroscopy measurements. This experiment gives access to molecular mobility in the adhesive. Dipolar entities are identified as evolving with aging conditions. The temperature is more effective than moisture at this scale. An interpretation of the molecular mobility before and after aging shows that water is an important parameter of this study. A link between mechanical and molecular behavior with hydrothermal aging is found. The decrease of mechanical properties occurs while failures become interfacial. In the same time, the interactions between hydroxyether and water increase. The evolution of the macroscopic behavior of the bonded assemblies is due to this combination observed at different scales. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Appl Polym Sci, 2010  相似文献

Several glasses synthesized by sol–gel route and based on the BaO–B2O3–X–Al2O3–SiO2 (X = CaO, MgO) glass system have been investigated to evaluate their applicability as sealant for solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC). Chemical interactions with K41X stainless steel and hydrogen‐tightness of these materials were evaluated after operations at high temperatures over 1,000 h in air atmosphere. Formation of a new phase at the steel–glass interface and formation of porosity in the glass were observed and determined as critical problems over mid‐term operations. The role of MgO is important to obtain a gas‐tight sealing. Application of the glass paste without binder addition was performed in order to avoid possible residual porosity related problems. The best glass was finally used as sealant between anodic and cathodic compartments in complete SOFCs operated at 760 and at 800 °C. Open circuit voltages and power densities of the cells were recorded during the first hours of operation.  相似文献

The accuracy with which the interfacial tension between two immiscible fluid phases can be determined by the spinning drop method is limited by the accuracy with which the spinning drop diameter can be found. Thus, it is important to know the factor by which the cylindrical sample tube and its content magnifies the on-axis drop or bubble. Here, we analyze the image formation and magnification factor of the spinning drop by a non-paraxial ray tracing method of geometric optics. Our analysis shows that when the drop and the walls of the lube are concentric, the magnification factor is exactly the refractive index of the denser fluid surrounding the drop and is independent of the refractive index and wall thickness of the sample tube. Our analysis also reveals that the image, a virtual one, is formed concentric with the drop.  相似文献

Life cycle assessment (LCA) was used to evaluate the environmental impact of an oxidative chromium recovery method from tannery sludge, in comparison with the usual landfilling process. Three improvement options (water reduction, byproduct use and anaerobic sludge digestion) were considered. The results showed that the proposed chromium recovery process would be better environmentally than conventional landfilling in all the evaluated impact categories if the amount of chromium recovered was 43 kg per ton of sludge. This amount could be recovered if the chromium concentration was about 20 times higher than that considered in this study. Alternatively, a lower chromium concentration would produce a better result if the recovery method was optimized and implemented at industrial rather than laboratory scale, and if more accurate data were provided on environmental credits for avoiding the chromium production process. Thus, the recovery method is environmentally beneficial when tannery sludge contains a chromium concentration of about 100,000 ppm. According to the literature, such concentrations are not unusual. The results could serve as the basis for further environmental improvements in chromium recovery and tannery sludge management and should be used in decision-making processes, especially for end-of-pipe treatments.  相似文献

We have studied the superconducting properties of antidot arrays and mesoscopic antidot clusters near the superconducting-normal phase boundary. Characteristic minima and maxima have been observed in the magnetore-sistance, critical current and phase boundary caused by the formation of stable vortex configurations at the antidots. A comparison with a simple theoretical model has shown that the effects in the arrays as well as in the clusters originate from quantization of the fluxoid at the antidots. This model has enabled an identification of all vortex configurations.  相似文献

This paper addresses the simulation of drilling tools CNC machining. It describes a novel approach for the computation of the boundary representation of the machined tools. Machining consists of a sequence of boolean operations of difference between the tool and the grinding wheels through time. The proposed method performs the dynamic boolean operations on cross sections of the tool and it reconstructs the 3Dmodel by tiling between the cross sections. The method is based on classical computational geometry algorithms such as intersection tests, hull computations, 2D boolean operations and surface tiling. This approach is efficient and it provides user control on the resolution of the operations.  相似文献
