In this work heteroepitaxial stabilization with nanoscale control of the magnetic Co2FeO4 phase at 250 °C is reported. Ultrasmooth and pure Co2FeO4 thin films (5–25 nm) with no phase segregation are obtained on perovskite SrTiO3 single crystal (100) and (110) oriented substrates by atomic layer deposition (ALD). High resolution structural and chemical analyses confirm the formation of the Co‐rich spinel metastable phase. The magneto‐crystalline anisotropy of the Co2FeO4 phase is not modified by stress anisotropy because the films are fully relaxed. Additionally, high coervice fields, 15 kOe, and high saturation of magnetization, 3.3 μB per formula unit (at 10 K), are preserved down to 10 nm. Therefore, the properties of the ALD‐Co2FeO4 films offer many possibilities for future applications in sensors, actuators, microelectronics, and spintronics. In addition, these results are promising for the use of ALD compared to the existing thin‐film deposition techniques to stabilize epitaxial multicomponent materials with nanoscale control on a wide variety of substrates for which the processing temperature is a major drawback.  相似文献

The effect of halothane anesthesia on the humoral immune response to sheep red blood cells was studied in mice immunized twice, with a 15-day interval. On both occasions, mice were exposed to 1.5% halothane for 40 min immediately after sensitization. Halothane reexposure resulted in increased numbers of IgG-secreting cells (IgG-SC) as well as circulating 7S-serum agglutinins. To examine further whether this effect could be obtained in syngeneic recipients, adoptive transfer experiments employing spleen cells were performed. While mice receiving cells from unimmunized and anesthetized donors displayed significantly higher levels of IgG-SC, recipients of cells from normal, immunized and immunized-anesthetized donors showed a depressed response when compared to control counterparts. Besides the possibility of an enhancing effect of halothane reexposure on the humoral response, this procedure may counteract normal physiological immunoregulatory processes during the generation of the immune response.  相似文献

The study evaluates the analgesic effects of epidural clonidine in patients undergoing abdominal hysterectomy under combined epidural/general anaesthesia. Forty ASA 1-2 patients were divided into two groups who received epidurally either clonidine 300 micrograms (group 1) or placebo (group 2). Anaesthesia was maintained with oxygen/nitrous oxide, a midazolam infusion, vecuronium, and boluses of fentanyl 100 micrograms administered as needed to maintain cardiovascular stability. The mean (SD) intraoperative fentanyl requirements were 2.05 (0.18) and 3.66 (0.3) micrograms.kg-1.h-1 for groups 1 and 2 respectively (p < 0.001). Patients in Group 1 had a lower heart rate after tracheal intubation and surgical incision (p < 0.02). In the recovery room, pain intensity was lower in group 1 (p < 0.003) and the mean (SD) time until analgesia request was increased from 48.5 (8.4) min in group 2 to 235.7 (33.2) min in group 1 (p < 0.001). Our results demonstrate that epidural clonidine produces decreased fentanyl requirements, improved cardiovascular stability, reduced pain intensity and effective postoperative analgesia in the recovery room.  相似文献

The aim of this work was to determine the detailed phase behavior of the sodium dodecyl sulfate/aniline hydrochloride/water system as a function of concentration of sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS), aniline hydrochloride (AHC) to sodium dodecyl sulfate molar ratio (R = [AHC]/[SDS]) and temperature. Phase behavior information was obtained via polarizing microscopy, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), cryo-scanning electron microscopy (Cryo-SEM) and oscillatory linear rheological measurements with good agreement among these techniques. It is well known that SDS in water forms spherical micelles at concentrations lower than 40 wt% and temperatures above its Krafft temperature (T k = 16–21 °C). In this region, the SDS/water system exhibits Newtonian rheological behavior, which is characteristic of spherical micellar solutions. The addition of the hydrotrope, aniline hydrochloride, to SDS aqueous solutions produces a viscosity increase in this system as R augments, and a maximum of about five orders of magnitude was found at R = 0.47 for 5 wt% SDS at 20 °C. Moreover, the system shows a transition from viscous to strong viscoelastic behavior. These changes in the rheological behavior are produced by the transitions from sphere to rodlike micelles, which are induced by the hydrophobicity of AHC causing it to be absorbed into the core and the hydrophilic interface of the micelles, which screens the repulsions between the charged head groups.  相似文献

A novel and general methodology for preparing vertical, complex‐oxide nanostructures from a sol–gel‐based polymer‐precursor solutions is developed using track‐etched polymers directly buffering substrates. This method is able to develop a nanostructure over the entire substrate, the dimensions and localization of the vertical nanostructures being preset by the polymeric nanotemplate. Thereby, nanostructures with lateral sizes in the range of 100 to 300 nm and up to 500 nm in height have been grown. Two examples are presented herein, the latter being the evolution of the initial, metastable nanostructure. Specifically, La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 polycrystalline rods are grown at mild temperatures (800 °C); upon strong thermal activation (1000 °C) they suffer a profound transformation into vertical, single‐crystalline (La,Sr)xOy nanopyramids sitting on a La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 epitaxial wetting layer. The driving force for this outstanding nanostructural evolution is the minimization of the total energy of the system, which is reached by reducing the grain‐boundary, total‐surface, and strain‐relaxation energies. Finally, advanced electron‐microscopy techniques are used to highlight the complex phase separation and structural transformations occurring when the metastable state is overcome.  相似文献

A catalyst of disulfide formation and isomerization during protein folding, protein-disulfide isomerase (PDI) has two catalytic sites housed in two domains homologous to thioredoxin, one near the N terminus and the other near the C terminus. The thioredoxin domains, by themselves, can catalyze disulfide formation, but they are unable to catalyze disulfide isomerizations (Darby, N. J. and Creighton, T. E. (1995) Biochemistry 34, 11725-11735). A 21-kDa, C-terminal fragment of PDI (amino acids 308-491), termed weePDI, comprises the C-terminal third of the molecule. The kcat for ribonuclease oxidative folding by weePDI is 0.26 +/- 0.02 min-1, 3-fold lower than the wild-type enzyme but indistinguishable from the activity of a full-length mutant of PDI in which both active site cysteines of the N-terminal thioredoxin domain have been mutated to serine. Eliminating the ability of weePDI to escape easily from covalent complexes with substrate by mutating the active site cysteine nearer the C terminus to serine has a large effect on the isomerase activity of weePDI compared with its effect on the full-length enzyme. weePDI also displays chaperone and anti-chaperone activity characteristic of the full-length molecule. As isolated, weePDI is a disulfide-linked dimer in which the single cysteine (Cys-326) outside active site cross-links two weePDI monomers. The presence of the intermolecular disulfide decreases the activity by more than 2-fold. The results imply that the functions of the core thioredoxin domains of PDI and other members of the thioredoxin superfamily might be modified quite easily by the addition of relatively small accessory domains.  相似文献

In this study, magnetic resonance imaging was compared with histology to evaluate the usefulness of magnetic resonance imaging to distinguish malignant from benign cardiac and paracardiac masses in 55 patients. Tumor location, tissue composition, and pericardial or pleural effusion all were identified as key predictors of lesion type. Observers were accurate in the prediction of lesion type (area under curve 0.88 and 0.92), and there was good interobserver variability (Cohen's kappa = 0.64).  相似文献

PURPOSE: Our goal was to compare in-phase (IP) and opposed-phase (OP) GRE and conventional SE sequences in T1-weighted (T1-W) imaging of the liver and to evaluate chemical shift GRE imaging in characterizing liver/lesions for fat content. METHOD: IP and OP T1-W GRE with fast low angle shot (FLASH) technique and T1-W SE sequences were compared in 162 patients at 1.0 T. Chemical shift GRE imaging was used to characterize lesions with fat content. Two hundred sixteen lesions were analyzed in three groups of liver: (a) "normal" liver (n = 74 with 110 lesions); (b) cirrhotic liver (n = 76 with 85 lesions); and (c) fatty liver (n = 12 with 21 lesions). Liver/lesion contrast and liver/lesion contrast-to-noise ratio were assessed for lesion detectability. The percentage of signal intensity variation (SIV) between IP and OP images was used to characterize lesions for fat content. RESULTS: The OP GRE sequence had significantly higher contrast for normal and cirrhotic livers (p < 0.001), and the IP GRE sequence had significantly higher contrast and contrast-to-noise ratio for fatty liver (p < 0.001). There were no significant differences between OP, IP, and T1-W SE imaging in cirrhotic cases for contrast-to-noise ratio (p < 0.28). Chemical shift imaging detected fat in 21 lesions (9.7%, mean SIV, 191.1%) (sensitivity and specificity 100% when compared with fine needle aspiration cytology). CONCLUSION: OP GRE sequences could replace conventional SE sequences in T1-W imaging in nonfatty livers, whereas in fatty livers, T1-W SE sequences could be obviated, but both OP and IP sequences are necessary. Chemical shift imaging (OP and IP) can be used to accurately characterize lesions for fat content.  相似文献
