This work presents ANEMONA: A language for programming NEtwork MONitoring Applications. The compilation of an ANEMONA program generates code for configuring a policy repository and the corresponding policy deployment and event monitoring. The language allows the definition of expressions of managed objects that are monitored, as well as triggers that when fired may indicate the occurrence of associated events, which are also defined by the language. A translator for the language was implemented that generates code for configuring both the policy repository and deployment. The current implementation of the language employs the Expression MIB and Event MIB. Experimental results are presented, including an ANEMONA program that detects TCP Syn Flooding attacks, and a program for detecting steep variations in the utilization of monitored links. Knowledge about the gas and particle dynamics in spouted beds is important in the evaluation of particle circulation rates and the efficiency of gas-solid contacts. In this work, the mechanism of transition from a static bed to a spouted bed was numerically simulated using a Eulerian multiphase model. This model was applied to two distinct spouted bed geometries: a conventional device and a spouted bed with draft tube. The radial voidage and particle velocity profiles along the longitudinal position in the annular and spout regions were simulated for the geometries under study. The characteristic simulated curves were congruous with the experimental data.  相似文献

Many suspected inhibitory interneurons (SINs) of primary somatosensory cortex (S1) receive a potent monosynaptic thalamic input (thalamocortical SINs, SINstc). It has been proposed that nearly all such SINstc of a S1 barrel column (BC) receive excitatory synaptic input from each member of a subpopulation of neurons within the topographically aligned ventrobasal (VB) thalamic barreloid. Such a divergent and convergent network leads to several testable predictions: sharply synchronous activity should occur between SINstc of a BC, sharp synchrony should not occur between SINstc of neighboring BCs, and sharp synchrony should not occur between SINs or other neurons of the same BC that do not receive potent monosynaptic thalamic input. These predictions were tested by cross-correlating the activity of SINstc of the same and neighboring BCs. Correlations among descending corticofugal neurons of layer 5 (CF-5 neurons, identified by antidromic activation) and other neurons that receive little or no monosynaptic VB input also were examined. SINs were identified by a high-frequency (>600 Hz) burst of three or more spikes elicited by VB stimulation and had action potentials of short duration. SINstc were further differentiated by short synaptic latencies to electrical stimulation of VB thalamus (<1.7 ms) and to peripheral stimulation (<7.5 ms). The above predictions were confirmed fully. 1) Sharp synchrony (+/-1 ms) was seen between all SINstc recorded within the same BC (a mean of 4.26% of the spikes of each SINtc were synchronized sharply with the spikes of the paired SINtc). Sharp synchrony was not dependent on peripheral stimulation, was not oscillatory, and survived general anesthesia. Sharp synchrony was superimposed on a broader synchrony, with a time course of tens of milliseconds. 2) Little or no sharp synchrony was seen when CF-5 neurons were paired with SINstc or other neurons of the same BC. 3) Little or no sharp synchrony was seen when SINstc were paired with other SINstc located in neighboring BCs. Intracellular recordings obtained from three SINs in the fully awake state supported the assertion that SINs are GABAergic interneurons. Each of these cells met our extracellular criteria for identification as a SIN, each had a spike of short duration (0.4-0.5 ms), and each responded to a depolarizing current pulse with a nonadapting train of action potentials. These results support the proposed network linking VB barreloid neurons with SINstc within the topographically aligned BC. We suggest that sharp synchrony among SINstc results in highly synchronous inhibitory postsynpatic potentials (IPSPs)in the target neurons of these cells and that these summated IPSPs may be especially effective when excitatory drive to target cells is weak and asynchronous.  相似文献

Following injection of bacteria into the hemocoel of the fall webworm, Hyphantria cunea, several inducible genes were identified and characterized using PCR-based differential display (DD-PCR) and subtractive cloning. Ten immune-related cDNA clones (Hdd1, Hdd2, Hdd3, Hdd11, Hdd13, Hdd15, Hdd17, Hdd23, Hs106, Hs302) were isolated and characterized. The deduced amino acid sequence of Hdd2 was shown to be a member of the copper, zinc superoxide dismutase (Cu-Zn SOD) family. The H. cunea Cu-Zn SOD is novel in that it is up-regulated following a bacterial challenge and has a putative signal peptide suggesting its secretion and involvement in the insect immune response. Hdd3 was found to encode a new member of the serpin (serine protease inhibitor) family. The putative lectin corresponding to Hdd15 is of a different kind in that it has two lectin C domains in a single molecule. These two lectin C domains show significant homology to the lectin C domain of Periplaneta lipopolysaccharide binding protein (LPS-BP). Three cloned genes, Hdd17, Hs106 and Hs302, encode a homologue to Bombyx mori Gram negative binding protein, a hemolin-like protein and a attacin-like protein, respectively. The deduced amino acid sequences from Hdd11 showed weak homology with a Locusta migratoria hemolymph protein. On the contrary, Hdd1, Hdd13 and Hdd23 did not reveal any significant homology with known proteins. All of the 10 genes were clearly inducible by E. coli and M. luteus injection. Injection of distilled water only slightly induced mRNA levels. Comparison of temporal mRNA expression following E. coli injection showed three types of expression patterns.  相似文献

Previous cross-sectional studies in patients with subcortical vascular encephalopathy (SVE) have shown little or no correlation between brain lesion load and clinical disability, which could be due to the low specificity of T2-weighted MRI. Recent studies have indicated that T1-weighted MRI may be more specific than T2-weighted MRI for severe tissue destruction. We studied 37 patients with a diagnosis of SVE and 11 normal controls with standardised T1- and T2-weighted MRI. All patients underwent detailed clinical assessment including a neuropsychological test battery and computerised gait analysis. Both the T2- and T1-weighted total MRI lesion loads different between patients and controls different, particularly T1. The ratio of T2-/T1-weighted lesion load was lower in controls than in patients. There was no overall correlation of T1- or T2-weighted lesion load with clinical disability, but group comparison of patients with severe and mild clinical deficits showed different lesion loads. We suggest that T1- and T2-weighted MRI lesion loads demonstrate relevant structural abnormality in patients with SVE.  相似文献

Insufficient hard and soft tissue height and width can be a repercussion of tooth loss or a result of postoperative healing following implant surgery. Insufficient bone can preclude proper implant positioning, while inadequately treated soft tissue will not exhibit a gingival appearance similar to that of the adjacent teeth. If hard and soft tissue discrepancies are not corrected by regenerative techniques, the replaced tooth appears long or overbulked gingivally. In order to create hard and soft tissue harmony, an understanding of the biological variables and periodontal implications is necessary.  相似文献

Long-term potentiation (LTP) of synaptic transmission in the CA1 region of the hippocampus is thought to result from either increased transmitter release, heightened postsynaptic sensitivity, or a combination of the two. We have measured evoked glutamate release from Schaffer collateral/commissural fiber terminals in CA1 by recording synaptically activated glutamate transporter currents in hippocampal astrocytes located in stratum radiatum. Although several manipulations of release probability caused parallel changes in extracellular field potentials and synaptically activated transporter current amplitudes, induction of LTP failed to alter transporter-mediated responses, suggesting that LTP does not alter the amount of glutamate released upon synaptic stimulation.  相似文献

Proximal first metatarsal osteotomies have been criticized for their instability leading to the dorsal displacement of the first metatarsal head. The purpose of this study was to compare inherent stability of fixated proximal oblique wedge and crescentic first metatarsal osteotomies against simulated vertical ground reactive forces. The authors evaluated four groups of 10 models each with various proximal osteotomy and fixation configurations. Group I was a control group of bone models without osteotomies; group II had oblique closing wedge osteotomies with one 2.7-mm, fully threaded, cortical screw fixation; group III had oblique closing wedge osteotomies with two 2.7-mm, fully threaded, cortical screw fixation; and group IV had proximal crescentic osteotomies with one 4.0-mm, partially threaded, cancellous screw fixation. All 40 bone models were stressed with simulated vertical ground reactive forces. Maximum load to achieve catastrophic failure was higher in the crescentic group (67.7 N, SD 15.1 N, p < or = .005), but the energy required to displace the osteotomy during the stressing sequence was higher in the two-screw oblique closing wedge osteotomy (390.6 N.mm, SD 153.4 N.mm, p < or = .01). The single-screw oblique closing wedge osteotomies showed the least ability to resist simulated vertical ground reactive forces (39.6 N, SD 19.1 N, p < or = .005).  相似文献
