Ferrocene, the parent of the metallocene family of organotransition metal compounds, has come to occupy a significant niche in cancer research. Developmental work in the authors' laboratory has been focused on the synthesis of antiproliferative ferrocene conjugates in which the bioactive ferrocene unit is covalently, yet bioreversibly bound (anchored) to water-soluble carrier polymers designed in accordance with requisite biomedical specifications. The anchoring link in most of these conjugates has been an aliphatic spacer containing the biofissionable amide group. In this communication the synthesis of a class of ferrocene conjugates is reported in which the ferrocene group is carrier-anchored through spacers containing an ester link, of interest here because of potentially different drug release behavior. The carriers are polyamides equipped with variously spaced hydroxyl side groups, to which the ferrocenylation agent, 4-ferrocenylbutanoic acid, is connected through esterification. The coupling reactions, mediated by carbodiimide agent and catalyzed by 4-(dimethylamino)pyridine, are carried out in DMF at temperatures not exceeding 65°C, and the water-soluble product polymers are isolated in yields of typically 70–85% by precipitation, aqueous dialysis, and freeze-drying. With the molar feed ratios chosen in these coupling experiments, the incorporation of ferrocene, assessed by 1H NMR spectroscopy, corresponds to iron contents of roughly 2.5–5.5%, by mass. To investigate amino acid changes in green coffee beans in the post-harvest period, amino acid concentrations were determined in green beans and after modelled drying, fermentation and storage. After the drying at alternating temperatures up to maximally 40°C, considerable changes in the concentrations of individual amino acids were identified. At the beginning of the storage period, significant changes in concentration were found to a minor extent. Under the condition of drying, it was mainly the concentration of glutamic acid that changed considerably. There was an increase in all the samples by 500 mg/kg dry matter on average, which corresponds to an increase of about 50% of the original value. In contrast, the concentration of aspartic acid in most of the samples decreased clearly due to drying. For the predominant part of the coffee samples, there was a significant increase in the hydrophobic amino acids Val, Phe, Ile and Leu. Changes of the quantities of other amino acids were non-uniform and only insignificant. Constant drying at 80°C for most of the amino acids brought about only minor concentration changes compared to those values obtained at 40°C. Modelled fermentation had no significant effect on the concentrations of the individual amino acids. After a 4-week storage of dried beans, amino acid concentrations did not change further. It is very possible that different post-harvest treatment parameters may influence the amount of aroma precursor compounds in the coffee beans. 相似文献

In recent years, significant research and development efforts were spent on hydrogen storage technologies with the goal of realizing a breakthrough for fuel cell vehicle applications. This article scrutinizes design targets and material screening criteria for solid state hydrogen storage. Adopting an automotive engineering point of view, four important, but often neglected, issues are discussed: 1) volumetric storage capacity, 2) heat transfer for desorption, 3) recharging at low temperatures and 4) cold start of the vehicle. The effect of inulin addition (0–4%) upon texture and microstructure of set yoghurt with different levels of fat (0.2%–3.5%) was investigated. A two-factor experimental design with four treatments was used for data analysis. Skimmed milk with various inulin and cream concentrations was standardized to 4% protein content, homogenized, heated to 92 °C and fermented at 42 °C until a pH of 4.6 was reached. The chemical composition, pH, consistency and microstructure properties of the yoghurts were analysed after 6 days of storage at 5 °C. The statistical analysis showed that inulin and fat significantly affected the rheological and sensory results. Higher yield stress, “firmness” and “creaminess” values were observed in yoghurt produced with higher inulin additions, whereas the pH value was not affected. A significant correlation was found between yield stress and sensory determined firmness (r = 0.91). The microstructure examined by confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM) was only slightly affected by the concentrations of inulin in the range studied, possibly due to weak protein interactions between the inulin and the milk protein network. 相似文献

Microporous membranes were prepared from chemically modified polysulfone. The substitution of the polysulfone was performed in solution using reactions known from polymer modification such as halomethylation, aminomethylation, and lithiation. Membranes can be prepared directly from halomethylated polysulfones which are consecutively converted heterogeneously in a second step to the final functionalized form. Sometimes, two-step reactions are necessary to yield the polymers from which the membranes were cast. In those cases where the reactions change the charge of the polymer, the success of the reaction can be demonstrated by streaming potential measurements. In recent years efforts have been increased to work with more intelligent membranes which render more than normal filtration properties. Thus, membranes have been prepared using chemically modified polymers or have been furnished with additives in order to increase their selectivity and/or special sorbing capabilities. In this paper, methods are described how commercially available polysulfone membranes can be functionalized by chemical reactions without disintegrating their mechanical properties. For this purpose, Sulfonation, chloromethylation, aminomethylation, and lithiation reactions were applied. A broad spectrum for further conversions modified membranes is opened by these chemical reactions which allow an individual fitting of the membranes with special substitutes. By a new technique for the addition of monomers it is possible to increase the reproducibility of the synthesis of poly(1,4-phenylene-1,3,4-oxadiazoles) by one order of magnitude in relation to the known method, measured by the standard deviation of the relative viscosity of polymer solutions in concentrated sulfuric acid. This method leads to polymers with very high molecular weights under markedly milder reaction conditions and in shorter reaction times than by the classic method. The influence of the most important reaction parameters on the reaction rate and equilibrium of the polycondensation was investigated.
