We are developing kilopixel arrays of TES microcalorimeters to enable high-resolution x-ray imaging spectrometers for future x-ray observatories and laboratory astrophysics experiments. Our current array design was targeted as a prototype for the X-ray Microcalorimeter Spectrometer proposed for the International X-ray Observatory, which calls for a 40×40-pixel core array of 300?μm devices with 2.5?eV energy resolution (at 6?keV). Here we present device characterization of our 32×32 arrays, including x-ray spectral performance of individual pixels within the array. We present our results in light of the understanding that our Mo/Au TESs act as weak superconducting links, causing the TES critical current (I c ) and transition shape to oscillate with applied magnetic field (B). We show I c (B) measurements and discuss the uniformity of these measurements across the array, as well as implications regarding the uniformity of device noise and response. In addition, we are working to reduce pixel-to-pixel electrical and thermal crosstalk; we present recent test results from an array that has microstrip wiring and an angle-evaporated copper backside heatsinking layer, which provides copper coverage on the four sidewalls of the silicon wells beneath each pixel. 相似文献

For die forgings, fabricated from steels Ck 45, 42 CrMo 4 and 38 MnSiV S 6 3, TTT and CCT diagrams were determined, and after different heat treatments, measurements of mechanical properties, fatigue strength and residual stresses were carried out. The diameter of the specimens after the forging process was 32 and 45mm. The residual stresses after quenching between ?450 and +160N/mm2 could be reduced to about 60N/mm2 by tempering up to 620°C. The fatigue strength in the range of 300N/mm2 depends more on the strength than on the residual stresses. Calculations with the program Antras-Thepla correlate well with the measured microstructures and residual stresses. This shows that the materials and processing data used for the calculation are conform to real processes. 相似文献

The realisation of a scanning positron microscope will be presented and discussed. A positron beam with a variable energy from 0.5 to 30 keV, with a spot diameter of 1 μm or below, can be scanned over an area of 0.6 × 0.6 mm2. This beam is formed after a double stage stochastic cooling (moderation) of positrons emitted from a radioactive isotope. In addition the positron beam will be pulsed in order to have a well-defined time base for positron lifetime measurements. In the system included is a conventional scanning electron microprobe for surface analysis. The design of the scanning positron microscope is dominated by the special demands of positron physics. 相似文献
