Multiple‐input floating‐gate transistor (FGMOS) circuit designers face a serious problem along the design process: the lack of a realistic simulation model. For this reason, a solution that properly predicts the initial voltage at the floating gates is presented in this paper. In order to assess the performance of the proposal, a comparison is made against a test circuit fabricated in a 0.5‐µm On‐Semiconductor CMOS process. Based on this comparison, the proposed model is shown to be a fundamental tool in the design of FGMOS circuits. © 2014 Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan. The development of thermoplastic fibers containing a liquid core is described. Internal morphology analysis confirms that the liquid-containing core is composed of a continuous cylindrical microchannel of constant diameter. Microfluidic experiments on both liquid core and reference hollow fibers were conducted by pumping distilled water through several filaments simultaneously. The observed fluid motions are satisfactorily described by the Hagen-Poiseuille law, indicating that the hollow and liquid core fibers have internal diameters of 31.6 and 14.8 µm, respectively. Flushing the liquid core fibers with a surfactant solution efficiently removes the saturated ester initially used during the melt spinning of the fiber. 相似文献

In this study, formulations of cassava starch and poly(butylene adipate-co-terephthalate) flexible films were developed, with glycerol, coconut nanocellulose, annatto, and citric acid in different concentrations, as well as the effectiveness of the selected materials in fresh-cut mangoes storage was evaluated. The tensile strength of the different formulations varied from 1.90 (E4) to 6.65 MPa (E3c), and the strain varied from 206.31 (E1c) to 278.41% (E8); this variation was dependent on the percentage of the polymer matrix incorporated. The aw values of the formulations ranged from 0.396 (E2) to 0.569 (E3c). The Formulations E4 and E7 (with additives) presented good properties and were selected to condition mangoes. The micrographs of these films showed regions of micropores that can facilitate the diffusion of water from the packaged product to the surface, allowing decreases in moisture and aw, which is associated with higher color maintenance during fruit storage. E7 presented better barrier properties than E4 (lower values of WVP and water solubility) which may have influenced in a positive way to maintain the stability of the package in the studied period. The advances in display technologies and the growing popularity of 3D video systems have attracted more consumers for 3D viewing experiences, and, consequently, the demand for storage and transmission of 3D video content is increasing. To cope with this demand, a 3D video extension of high-efficiency video coding (HEVC) standard is being developed and near the final standardization stage. The upcoming 3D-HEVC standard is expected to provide higher encoding efficiency than its predecessors, supporting multiple views with high resolution, at a cost of considerable increase in computational complexity, which can be an obstacle to its use in real-time applications. This article proposes a novel complexity reduction algorithm developed to optimize the 3D-HEVC intra mode decision targeting real-time video processing for consumer devices with limited computational power, such as 3D camcorders and smartphones equipped with multiple cameras and depth acquisition capabilities. The proposed algorithm analyzes the texture frames and depth maps to estimate the orientation of edges present in the prediction unit data, speeding up the intra prediction process and reducing the 3D-HEVC encoding processing time. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm can save 26 % in computational complexity on average with negligible loss of encoding efficiency. This solution contributes to make more feasible the compression of 3D videos targeting real-time applications in power-constrained devices. 相似文献

The economic performance of an industrial scale semi-batch reactor for biodiesel production via transesterification of used vegetable oils is investigated by simulation using nonlinear model predictive control (NMPC) technology. The objective is to produce biodiesel compliant to the biodiesel standards at the minimum costs. A first-principle model is formulated to describe the dynamics of the reactor mixture temperature and composition. The feed oil and mixture composition are characterized using a pseudo-component approach, and the thermodynamic properties are estimated from group contribution methods. The dynamic model is used by the NMPC framework to predict the optimal control profiles, where a multiple shooting based dynamic optimization problem is solved at every sampling time. Simulation results with the economic performance of an industrial scale semi-batch reactor are presented for control configurations manipulating the methanol feed flow rate and the heat duty. 相似文献

The use of a multibody methodology to describe the large motion of complex systems that experience structural deformations enables to represent the complete system motion, the relative kinematics between the components involved, the deformation of the structural members and the inertia coupling between the large rigid body motion and the system elastodynamics. In this work, the flexible multibody dynamics formulations of complex models are extended to include elastic components made of composite materials, which may be laminated and anisotropic. The deformation of any structural member must be elastic and linear, when described in a coordinate frame fixed to one or more material points of its domain, regardless of the complexity of its geometry. To achieve the proposed flexible multibody formulation, a finite element model for each flexible body is used. For the beam composite material elements, the sections properties are found using an asymptotic procedure that involves a two-dimensional finite element analysis of their cross-section. The equations of motion of the flexible multibody system are solved using an augmented Lagrangian formulation and the accelerations and velocities are integrated in time using a multi-step multi-order integration algorithm based on the Gear method. 相似文献

Health experts are worried about the increase in the number of overweight children and the decrease in activity levels among this age group. This project explores the possibilities of using interactive toys and social interaction in encouraging children to become more physically active. To arrive at the final concept, research was conducted into the factors that encourage and discourage physically active play in children. Based on that knowledge, four key elements were used to develop the product: fantasy, social interaction, surmounting physical and cultural barriers and inspirational factors. The project resulted in a cuddly toy that stimulates young children aged 4–8 to care for it through their own physical actions. First limited tests indicated that children appreciated and understood the toys’ key elements, and suggest that it could be possible to use interactive toys and social interaction to change behaviour with regard to physical activity. 相似文献
