A versatile methodology for the synthesis of 6/8-halogenated 7-aminocoumarins from the corresponding 7-hydroxy analogs using Pd-catalyzed amination reaction as the key step is presented. Further readily conversion into 7-azidocoumarins was performed and the resulting aryl azides proved higher stability and reactivity than the corresponding non-halogenated parent compound. These new compounds may thus constitute attractive scaffolds for designing novel photoaffinity reagents for various challenging bio-labeling applications. 相似文献

Zinc selenide layers have been grown on glass/conducting glass substrates using a low temperature (65°C) electrochemical technique, and characterized using X-ray diffractions (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), photoluminescence (PL) and photo electrochemical cell (PEC) techniques. XRD shows that the material growth is highly preferential with (1 1 1) orientation. XPS work indicates that this material has a chemical and stoichiometric nature similar to that grown by molecular beam epitaxy. Annealing at 250°C for 15 min improves the crystallinity of the layers. PL studies indicate the presence of a low number of defect levels which causes radiative transitions within the energy region 0.7–1.4 eV below the conduction band, in the case of electrodeposited ZnSe when compared to MBE grown ZnSe. Optical properties of the thin films were characterized using a PEC cell arrangement and both n- and p-doping of the materials has been achieved successfully using Ga and As, respectively. The use of crystalline ZnSe layers in both simple p-n junctions and multi-layer solar cell structures shows encouraging results. 相似文献

A procedure based on liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) is described for determination of amphetamine, methamphetamine, and methylendioxy derivatives in meconium, using 3,4-methylendioxypropylamphetamine as internal standard. The analytes were initially extracted from the matrix by 17 mM methanolic HCl. Subsequently, a solid-phase extraction with Bondelut Certify columns was applied. Chromatography was performed on a C(18) reversed-phase column using a linear gradient of 10 mM ammonium bicarbonate, pH 9.0-methanol as a mobile phase. Analytes were determined in LC-MS single ion monitoring mode with an atmospheric pressure ionization-electrospray interface. The method was validated in the range 0.005-1.00 microg/g using 1 g of meconium per assay. Mean recoveries ranged between 61.1 and 87.2% for different analytes. The quantification limits were 0.005 microg/g meconium for amphetamine, methamphetamine, and 4-hydroxy-3-methoxymethamphetamine and 0.004 microg/g meconium for 3,4-methylenedioxyamphetamine, 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine, 3,4-methylenedioxyethylamphetamine, and N-methyl-1-(3,4-methylenedioxyphenyl)-2-butanamine. Of all landslides, subaerial flowslides are the most dangerous. According to the literature, flowslides in saturated granular deposits are caused by static liquefaction induced by loss of stability. However, the catastrophic flowslides that occurred on steep slopes in Campania (southern Italy) in 1998, 1999, and 2005 were triggered by rainwater infiltration into shallow deposits of pyroclastic soils, which were initially unsaturated. Starting from the experience collected during the investigations of some of these landslides, the writers consider flowslide evolution as a result of a mechanical chain process characterized by saturation increase due to rainwater infiltration, mechanical degradation, volumetric collapse, and static liquefaction, culminating in complete fluidization of the soil. In the paper this chain process is investigated through wetting tests both in suction controlled triaxial apparatuses and in a well-equipped small scale slope model. 相似文献

A porcelain faucet handle failed after years of use in a residential rental property. Determining the cause of failure was hampered by the fact that the failed handle was no longer available. The analysis included mechanical testing of exemplar faucet handles to measure the reasonable forces that could be applied by hand and the forces necessary to cause failure. Interface geometry between the porcelain handle and the interior metal nut was a factor. Finite Element Analysis facilitated the study. Results showed that if the faucet handle had sustained damage during a gasket repair, then the failure could be accounted for. 相似文献

In this article, we present a practical approach to analyzing mobile usage environments. We propose a framework for analyzing the restrictions that characteristics of different environments pose on the user's capabilities. These restrictions along with current user interfaces form the cost of interaction in a certain environment. Our framework aims to illustrate that cost and what causes it. The framework presents a way to map features of the environment to the effects they cause on the resources of the user and in some cases on the mobile device. This information can be used for guiding the design of adaptive and/or multimodal user interfaces or devices optimized for certain usage environments. Thermal stability of metal-supported catalysts for reduction of cold-start emissions in a wood-fired domestic boiler 总被引:5,自引:0,他引:5
The aim of the present work is to develop a catalyst based on a mixture of manganese oxides and platinum supported on a metallic monolith for abatement of emissions from wood combustion, particularly during the cold-start phase. The activity and the thermal stability of the catalysts have been studied in the laboratory, before performing tests in a wood-stove. The effect of the hydrothermal treatment at 900°C on the adherence of the washcoat onto a metallic substrate was studied using scanning electronic microscope. It revealed well-adhering washcoat onto the metallic support due to the growth of the alumina whiskers during the treatment. The influence of the amount of washcoat, as well as the influence of the concentration of manganese oxides in it (Mn: 5 to 20 mol%/Al2O3) on the activity of fresh and hydrothermally-treated catalysts were studied. The activity tests were carried out using a mixture of carbon monoxide, naphthalene and methane in the presence of air, steam and carbon dioxide to resemble the flue gases from wood combustion. On the fresh catalysts, containing the same total amount of manganese, a high concentration of manganese oxides in the washcoat favoured the oxidation of carbon monoxide and naphthalene, whereas a lower concentration of manganese oxides in the washcoat gave higher activity for the oxidation of methane. An increased total amount of manganese oxides in the catalysts, which had the same amount of washcoat, resulted in an increase in activity for the oxidation of the three combustibles. After thermal treatment at 900°C for 270 h in steam, most of the manganese oxide catalysts were activated for the oxidation of carbon monoxide and naphthalene while only being slightly deactivated for the oxidation of methane. The addition of manganese oxides in the washcoat, however, lowers the temperature of the γ- to -alumina phase transformation. Platinum (0.5 mol%) was added to the manganese oxide (10 mol%) catalyst to improve its activity. A platinum catalyst was also tested for comparison. The platinum and the mixed catalysts showed similar activity for the oxidation of carbon monoxide and naphthalene, while the mixed catalysts were more active for the oxidation of methane. A similarly mixed MnOx–Pt (10–0.5 mol%) catalyst supported on Al2O3 stabilised with 3% lanthanum, but at larger scale, was tested in a wood-stove. The possibility of pre-heating the catalyst during the start-up phase was studied. The tests revealed a strong decrease of the carbon monoxide and unburned hydrocarbons emissions during the start-up phase when the catalyst was pre-heated with hot air compared with no pre-heating or no catalyst. 相似文献

The mobility of Spanish biochemists from Europe to the United States over the past 80 years (1927–2006) is approached from
a historical perspective. The academic community on human genetics has awarded this emigrated Spanish community with the Nobel
prize as well as other awards from European foundations. The vertical/horizontal integration methodology offers an opportunity
to understand the extremely satisfactory history of a small European community overseas. To piece the puzzle together, continuous
reference is made to the theory of systems. To test and use this holistic history, the circulation of the knowledge produced
on cancer has been studied as intrinsically related to time by using the algorithmic historiography.
Francisco Duran Reynals and Severo Ochoa have been selected as examples of the vertical integration. The former one because
he was the director of an important collaborator, his own wife; the latter, as the founder of a Spanish specific research
school in America based in his own work. The simultaneous stay of several young Spanish scientists at the Columbia University
(Mariano Barbacid, Manuel Perucho and ángel Pellicer) serves to design the horizontal integration, to create a holon hierarchy
to reflect the criteria of subsidiarity and acceptability, and to focus on the Spanish discoveries and contributions to cancer
research.
The transatlantic flows of knowledge generated by the Spanish elite of biochemists in the USA from 1927 on define a network
of geographical displacements. As a result, the social structure thus visualizes the identity of the international mobility
of scientists who leave for Europe/USA, and their return to Spain. A model of the brain drain of professionals to the USA,
that retain 80% of the Spanish cancer researchers, is developed.

Glucosinolates (GLS), antioxidative compounds, total radical scavenging activities (TRSAs) and proteins of white cabbage samples derived from different regions of Europe, collected in the spring and autumn, were studied. Glucobrassicin and sinigrin were the dominating GLS in all analyzed cabbage samples. Depending on origin, these two GLS accounted for ∼30% to ∼70% of the total. The total GLS content ranged from 3.3 to 7.7 μmol/g dw in lyophilized vegetables. Assays based on electron transfer [total phenols by Folin-Ciocalteu reagent (FCR), 2,2′-azinobis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid)] radical cation (ABTS) and 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH)] were used to compare the TRSAs and the main bioactive compounds in cabbage. Total polyphenols varied from 2.4 to 4.9 GAE/g dw. The TRSAs ranged from 2.7 to 8.2 μmol TE/g dw in ABTS test and from 2.4 to 5.4 μmol TE/g dw in DPPH assay. The maximum amount of polyphenol compounds, antioxidant activity, as well as total GLS content, were recorded in Belgian cabbage harvested in the autumn and the lowest ones were found for Poland 2 cabbage harvested in the spring. In extracted and separated by sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) proteins from cabbage leaves only in samples from England and Belgium some differences in patterns were found in the regions of 60 and 97 kDa. The calculated correlations between antioxidative potency and the abundance of bioactive compounds were highly statistically significant. This suggests that TRSA could serve as a means of standardization of natural mixtures, at least in the case of cabbage, necessary to compare results of biological studies carried out for vegetable derived samples. 相似文献

Streptomyces hygroscopicus is a natural producer of geldanamycin. Mutasynthetic supplementation of an AHBA‐blocked mutant with all possible monofluoro 3‐aminobenzoic acids provided new fluorogeldanamycins. These showed strong antiproliferative activity and inhibitory effects on human heat shock protein Hsp90.
