Prosodic modulation of speech provides information about emotional states of speakers (affective prosodies) or serves as syntactic markers to change linguistic aspects of speech (linguistic prosodies). Previous electrophysiological investigations and studies on patients with right or left hemisphere damage showed nonuniform results with respect to lateralization of prosodic processing. In this study 20 healthy right-handed volunteers were investigated with functional magnetic resonance imaging of the acoustically responsive areas on the supratemporal plane while detecting phonemes as control targets or prosodies in strings of nonsense syllables and adjectives, the latter randomly intonated in a declarative, interrogative, commanding, happy, or sad fashion. In control task A the phoneme /a/ was detected in the syllables. In control task B the phoneme /a/ was detected in the adjectives, and in the experimental task C the sad intonations (affective) and in the experimental task D the interrogative intonations (linguistic) had to be detected in the same material. In task A intensity-weighted volumes of activated voxels were not different in the two hemispheres (laterality index 0). In task B with an irrelevant phoneme detection with respect to prosodic material, the population split into two subgroups with similar right or left hemispheric lateralization of activity leading to an absolute laterality index of 26.8 across all subjects. During detection of affective prosodies (task C), lateralization was maintained yet the absolute laterality index reduced to 14.5, while there was no lateralization during detection of linguistic prosodies. The sum of activations in the two hemispheres was the same across all tasks and subgroups, which suggests that the lateralizations occurring with presentation and detection of prosodic material depend on a redistribution of activity between hemispheres.  相似文献

Objective

Prospective motion correction can effectively fix the imaging volume of interest. For large motion, this can lead to relative motion of coil sensitivities, distortions associated with imaging gradients and B 0 field variations. This work accounts for the B 0 field change due to subject movement, and proposes a method for correcting tissue magnetic susceptibility-related distortion in prospective motion correction.

Materials and methods

The B 0 field shifts at the different head orientations were characterized. A volunteer performed large motion with prospective motion correction enabled. The acquired data were divided into multiple groups according to the object positions. The correction of B 0-related distortion was applied to each group of data individually via augmented sensitivity encoding with additionally integrated gradient nonlinearity correction.

Results

The relative motion of the gradients, B 0 field and coil sensitivities in prospective motion correction results in residual spatial distortion, blurring, and coil artifacts. These errors can be mitigated by the proposed method. Moreover, iterative conjugate gradient optimization with regularization provided superior results with smaller RMSE in comparison to standard conjugate gradient.

Conclusion

The combined correction of B 0-related distortion and gradient nonlinearity leads to a reduction of residual motion artifacts in prospective motion correction data.

A low‐jitter and low‐power dissipation delay‐locked loop (DLL) is presented. A proposed multi‐band voltage control delay unit (MVCDU) is employed to extend the operation frequency of the DLL by controlling the delay cell within the MVCDU. The jitter of DLL is reduced due to MVCDU's low sensitivity. The delay cell in the MVCDU employs a differential configuration to further reduce the noise impact from the fluctuation in the supply and ground voltage. The operating frequency of the proposed DLL ranges from 120 to 420 MHz. The proposed design has been fabricated in a TSMC 0.18µm CMOS process. The measured RMS and peak‐to‐peak jitters are 4.86 and 34.55 ps, respectively, at an operating frequency of 300 MHz. The power dissipation is below 14.85 mW at an operating frequency of 420 MHz. The change of strain in Si0.7Ge0.3 films was investigated with medium energy ion scattering (MEIS). Si was removed in the films by selective oxidation at 800 °C, resulting in the formation of a Ge pile-up layer on the surface. The relaxation and the thickness of the pile-up layer were closely related to the oxidation time. MEIS data demonstrated that relaxation of the Ge layer in the depth direction occurred partially, and that the rates of relaxation decreased with depth. In addition, the rate of relaxation increased with the oxidation time. Lastly, the relaxation of the Ge layer affected the strain of the remaining Si0.7Ge0.3 substrate.  相似文献

Synthetic bone replacement materials are of great interest because they offer certain advantages compared with organic bone grafts. Biodegradability and preoperative manufacturing of patient specific implants are further desirable features in various clinical situations. Both can be realised by 3D powder printing. In this study, we introduce powder-printed magnesium ammonium phosphate (struvite) structures, accompanied by a neutral setting reaction by printing farringtonite (Mg3(PO4)2) powder with ammonium phosphate solution as binder. Suitable powders were obtained after sintering at 1100°C for 5 h following 20–40 min dry grinding in a ball mill. Depending on the post-treatment of the samples, compressive strengths were found to be in the range 2–7 MPa. Cytocompatibility was demonstrated in vitro using the human osteoblastic cell line MG63.  相似文献

Nanometer size biphasic calcium phosphate (BCP) powders with various Ca/P molar ratios satisfied with appropriate phase ratios of HA/β-TCP were prepared by high temperature flame spray pyrolysis process. The BCP powders had spherical shapes and narrow size distributions irrespective of the ratios of Ca/P. The mean size of the BCP powders measured from the TEM image was 38 nm. The composition ratio of Ca/P was controlled from 1.500 to 1.723 in the spray solution, and required phase ratios of HA/TCP are controlled systematically. The calcium dissolution of the pellets obtained from the BCP powders directly prepared by flame spray pyrolysis in buffer solution increased with the decrease of Ca/P ratios except with the Ca/P ratio of 1.713. The pellet surface with Ca/P ratio of 1.500, which consisted of β-TCP, was eroded dramatically for 7 days. On the other hand, the pellet surface with Ca/P ratio of 1.667 was stable and did not disintegrate after immersion in Tris–HCl buffer solution based on the SEM observation.  相似文献

In Xu et al. (Comput Struct 87:1416–1426, 2009) a novel Green-function-based multiscale stochastic finite element method (MSFEM) was proposed to model boundary value problems involving random heterogeneous materials. In this paper, we describe in detail computational aspects of the MSFEM explicitly across macro–meso–micro scales.
