Sensitivity analysis for fixed-priority real-time systems   总被引:1,自引:1,他引:0  
At early stages in the design of real-time embedded applications, the timing attributes of the computational activities are often incompletely specified or subject to changes. Later in the development cycle, schedulability analysis can be used to check the feasibility of the task set. However, the knowledge of the worst-case response times of tasks is often not sufficient to precisely determine the actions that would correct a non-schedulable design. In these situations, sensitivity analysis provides useful information for changing the implementation, by giving a measure of those computation times that must be reduced to achieve feasibility, or those that can be increased in case of a product extension, or providing the range of feasible periods for selecting the proper task activation rates. In this work, we exploit the concept of feasibility region to propose a faster and more concise solution to the sensitivity analysis problem with respect to existing techniques based on binary search. Furthermore, we show how the formalization of other problems in the feasibility domain, such as managing overloads through elastic scheduling, can be extended to the exact analysis.  相似文献

From Day 2 to Day 4 of life, chicks were fed daily in a large enclosure with 2 identical food caches, each filled with a different type of seed. On Day 5, binocular and monocular chicks were fed in their home cages 1 type of seed exclusively for 30 min. At test, soon after this devaluation phase, both binocular and right-eyed chicks chose the food caches containing the seeds that had not been devalued; in contrast, left-eyed chicks did not show a clear choice. Experiments revealed that the asymmetry was not due to lack of motivation, worse spatial memory, or inability to remember the consequences of devaluation by left-eyed chicks. Results suggest that young chicks can form declarative-like memories of the content of food caches. However, chicks using their left eye (which provides a supply of mainly to the right hemisphere) failed to integrate memory of the content of food caches with memory of the consequences of devaluation. Trained chicks (Gallus gallus domesticus) to discriminate between two identical boxes containing food on the basis of the positions of the boxes. Once learning was accomplished, the visual characteristics (color or size) of the boxes were changed and chicks were retrained to criterion. Results showed that chicks remembered more about visual characteristics of the boxes than about their position. The same results did not occur, however, if the change was limited only to parts of the boxes rather than to the entire object. Further experiments indicated that it was not the amount of physical change as such that produced these different results but rather the way in which animals select meaningful objects in their perceptual organization of the environment. We argue that chicks define spatial locations in terms of the relative positions of objects and that in so doing they also encode those visual characteristics that make possible perceptual segregation of distinct objects. β-Glucosidase (EC 3.2.1.21) (β-G) from different sources were tested to increase the trans-resveratrol in some Sicilian wines by hydrolysing resveratrol glucoside. β-G from Aspergillus niger mould was tested as a crude and purified enzyme, and compared with the same enzyme from Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast. Specific purification served to eliminate collateral enzyme activities so that β-G could be used simply and economically. Aspergillus niger β-G produced trans-resveratrol increases of up to 75%, with no change in physico-chemical properties and bouquet, and an increase in health and nutritional properties. S. cerevisiae β-G raised free-terpenol levels, but impaired wine colour due to anthocyanase activity.  相似文献

Abstract

The accuracy of bridge system safety evaluations and reliability assessments obtained through refined structural and finite element analyses depends not only on the accuracy of the structural model itself but also on the proper modelling of the maximum traffic loads. While current code-specified live load models were calibrated to properly reflect the safety levels of bridge structures analysed using the simplified methods adopted in bridge design and evaluation manuals, these load models may not lead to accurate results when implemented during refined structural analysis procedures. This paper describes a method to calibrate appropriate live load models that can be used for advanced analyses of bridges. The calibration procedure is demonstrated using actual traffic data collected at a representative weigh-in-motion station in New York State. The proposed calibration methodology is applicable for developing live load models for different bridge service periods, bridge types and design/assessment codes or standards. Live load models obtained using the proposed calibration procedure are readily implementable for deterministic refined analyses of highway bridges to produce similar results to those of complex traffic load simulations. Examples are presented that describe how results of such calibrated live load models would be used in engineering practice.  相似文献

Many models explain the evolution of signalling in repeated stage games on social networks, differently in this study each signalling game evolves a communication strategy to transmit information across the network. Specifically, I formalise signalling chain games as a generalisation of Lewis' signalling games, where a number of players are placed on a chain network and play a signalling game in which they have to propagate information across the network. I show that probe and adjust learning allows the system to develop communication conventions, but it may temporarily perturb the system out of conventions. Through simulations, I evaluate how long the system takes to evolve a signalling convention and the amount of time it stays in it. This discussion presents a mechanism in which simple players can evolve signalling across a social network without necessarily understanding the entire system.  相似文献

The dental practice is associated with a high risk of infections, both for patients and healthcare operators, and the environment may play an important role in the transmission of infectious diseases. A microbiological environmental investigation was carried out in six dental clinics as a pilot study for a larger multicentre study that will be performed by the Italian SItI (Society of Hygiene, Preventive Medicine and Public Health) working group "Hygiene in Dentistry". Microbial contamination of water, air and surfaces was assessed in each clinic during the five working days of the week, before and during treatments. Air and surfaces were also examined at the end of the daily activity. A wide variation was found in microbial environmental contamination, both within the participating clinics and relative to the different sampling times. Microbial water contamination in Dental Unit Water Systems (DUWS) reached values of up to 26 × 104 cfu/mL (colony forming units per millilitre). P. aeruginosa was found in 33% of the sampled DUWS and Legionella spp. in 50%. A significant decrease in the Total Viable Count (TVC) was recorded during the activity. Microbial air contamination showed the highest levels during dental treatments and tended to decrease at the end of the working activity (p < 0.05). Microbial buildup on surfaces increased significantly during the working hours. As these findings point out, research on microbial environmental contamination and the related risk factors in dental clinics should be expanded and should also be based on larger collections of data, in order to provide the essential knowledge aimed at targeted preventive interventions.  相似文献
