A review of spectroscopic properties of complex molecules is presented and used to show that a simple two-level scheme is inadequate to describe the optical bleaching of dye molecules. Experimental data are reported for the transmission of intense ruby laser radiation by several types of dyes. Rate equation analyses are carried out using steady-state solutions and iterative computer solutions; calculated bleaching curves are compared with our data for cryptocyanine. On these bases, we show that, in general, the optical bleaching process involves the removal of ground-state molecules to other states having smaller absorption cross sections at the exciting frequency, and that recovery of absorption at this frequency is characterized by a complex relaxation mechanism.  相似文献

Sulfur-bridged polyaniline coatings are obtained onto Fe anodes by electrolyzing a basic solution of one aniline and ammonium sulfide. Their sulfur content ranges from 7% to 17%, depending on the substituents on aniline. Variously substituted anilines may be polymerized in this way and coating pollution by azobenzene formed in a side reaction is almost completely avoided. Sulfur probably enters the polymer chains through a free radical mechanism. HS? intermediates being formed by both homogeneous and anodic oxidation of HS? anions. Coatings from N-allylaniline, being thermally curable, show satisfactory physical properties.  相似文献

In this work a Sulzer structured packing, Mellapak 250Y, was studied for applications in the field of absorption. A new model was proposed which makes it possible to estimate the packing surface that actually takes part in the process. In the course of these studies, new experimental data were obtained relating to the absorption of 1,1,1-trichloroethane using Genosorb 300, a mixture of polyethylene glycol dimethyl ethers produced by Hoechst S.p.A., as absorption liquid. The results obtained with the proposed model are in agreement both with the experimental measurements made in the course of the work and with experimental absorption measurements reported by other authors on water systems.  相似文献

Classical single carrier cell planning is extended to multi-carrier systems operating over frequency selective channels. Extension is achieved by expressing the link outage probability in terms of the statistics of the effective SINR. Two approximations for the link outage probability are obtained by considering log-normal and Gaussian assumptions for the derivation of the statistics of the exponential effective SINR. A simplified planning procedure is presented and applied to the calculation of the network parameters for the typical two cells interference scenario. Results having accuracy within one dB are obtained for a number of sub-carriers greater than six and for an outage target of 5%.  相似文献

An alcoholic beverage (35.4% v/v ethanol) was produced by distillation of the fermented broth obtained by continuous whey fermentation with a lactose-fermenting yeast Kluyveromyces marxianus. Forty volatile compounds were identified in this drink by gas chromatography. Higher alcohols were the most abundant group of volatile compounds present, with isoamyl, isobutyl, 1-propanol, and isopentyl alcohols being found in highest quantities (887, 542, 266, and 176 mg/l, respectively). Ethyl acetate had the highest concentration (138 mg/l) among the esters. Besides higher alcohols and esters, other components, including aldehydes, acids and terpenes were also identified in the whey spirit. Considering that the quality of an alcoholic beverage can be evaluated by the relation between isoamyl alcohol/2-methyl-1-propanol and 2-methyl-1-propanol/1-propanol, which have to be higher than unity, it was concluded that a novel spirit of acceptable organoleptic characteristics can be produced by cheese whey continuous fermentation with K. marxianus.  相似文献

An optimal power flow (OPF) methodology is developed to investigate the provision of a demand hydrogen as a means to maximise wind power generation in relation to a constrained electricity network. The use of excess wind energy to generate hydrogen for use as a transport fuel is investigated. Hydrogen demand is included in the objective function of the OPF, and a techno-economic analysis is presented. We conclude that using this method to generate hydrogen increases the utilisation of wind energy and allows for a hydrogen demand to be met at or near to the point of use. The OPF algorithm that has been developed optimises the amount of wind energy utilised, as well as minimising the amount of hydrogen demand not met. The cost at which the hydrogen is produced was found to be dependent on the operating methodology, component capital investment costs, level of hydrogen demand, and storage constraint.  相似文献

Cheese whey (CW) and deproteinised cheese whey (DCW) were investigated for their suitability as novel substrates for the production of kefir-like beverages. Lactose consumption, ethanol production, as well as organic acids and volatile compounds formation, were determined during CW and DCW fermentation by kefir grains and compared with values obtained during the production of traditional milk kefir. The results showed that kefir grains were able to utilise lactose from CW and DCW and produce similar amounts of ethanol (7.8–8.3 g/l), lactic acid (5.0 g/l) and acetic acid (0.7 g/l) to those obtained during milk fermentation. In addition, the concentration of higher alcohols (2-methyl-1-butanol, 3-methyl-1-butanol, 1-hexanol, 2-methyl-1-propanol, and 1-propanol), ester (ethyl acetate) and aldehyde (acetaldehyde) in cheese whey-based kefir and milk kefir beverages were also produced in similar amounts. Cheese whey and deproteinised cheese whey may therefore serve as substrates for the production of kefir-like beverages similar to milk kefir.  相似文献

The structure of a time-dependent methane/enriched-air flame established in an axisymmetric, laminar counterflow configuration is investigated, as the flame interacts with two counterpropagating toroidal vortices. Computationally, the time-dependent equations are written using a modified vorticity–velocity formulation, with detailed chemistry and transport, and are solved implicitly on a nonstaggered, nonuniform grid. Boundary conditions are chosen to create local extinction and reignition in the vicinity of the axis of symmetry. Experimentally, CO planar laser-induced fluorescence (PLIF), OH PLIF, and an observable proportional to the forward reaction rate (RR) of the reaction CO+OH→CO2+H are measured. Particle image velocimetry (PIV) is used to characterize the velocity field of the vortical structures and to provide detailed boundary conditions for the simulations. Excellent agreement is found between model and experiments to the minutest morphological details throughout the interaction. The validated model is then used to probe the dynamics of the two-dimensional extinction process with high temporal resolution. During the initial phase of the interaction, the flame is locally extinguished by the two vortices. The resulting edge flame propagates outward as an extinction front, with a structure that does not depart significantly from that of a diffusion flame. The front recedes from the axis of symmetry with a negative propagation speed that reaches a value as large as six times that of the freely propagating laminar flame with the same reactant concentrations found at the stoichiometric surface. As the front propagates outward, it transitions to an ignition front, and it reaches a positive propagation speed comparable to that of the freely propagating laminar flame. During this transition, it develops a characteristic premixed “hook,” with a lean premixed branch, a stoichiometric segment that evolves into the remnant of the original primary diffusion flame, and a much weaker secondary diffusion flame resulting from a secondary peak in heat release in the original unperturbed diffusion flame. No evidence of a distinct rich premixed flame is found. The edge flame stabilizes at a radial location where the local gaseous speed equals the propagation speed of the front. When the local perturbation has decayed below the flame propagation speed, the flame edge starts reigniting the mixing layer as an ignition wave that propagates with an essentially frozen structure along the stoichiometric surface until the original diffusion flame structure is fully recovered. Implications for flamelet modeling of turbulent flames with local extinction are discussed.  相似文献

In this paper are presented the results of the investigation on optimal process operational conditions of thermophilic dark fermentation and anaerobic digestion of food waste, testing a long-term run, applying an organic loading rate of 16.3 kgTVS/m3d in the first phase and 4.8 kgTVS/m3d in the second phase. The hydraulic retention times (HRTs) were maintained at 3.3 days and 12.6 days, respectively, for the first and second phase. Recirculation of anaerobic digested sludge, after a mild solid separation, was applied to the dark fermentation reactor in order to control the pH in the optimal hydrogen production range of 5–6. It was confirmed the possibility to obtain a stable hydrogen production, without using external chemicals for pH control, in a long-term test, with a specific hydrogen production of 66.7 l per kg of total volatile solid (TVS) fed and a specific biogas production in the second phase of 0.72 m3 per kgTVS fed; the produced biogas presented a typical composition with a stable presence of hydrogen and methane in the biogas mixture around 6 and 58%, respectively, carbon dioxide being the rest.  相似文献
