Hydration of partially amorphized α‐TCP powders with Sr2+ concentrations ranging from 0 to 10 mol% substitution for Ca2+ was analyzed by isothermal calorimetry and quantitative in‐situ XRD. Hydration of both crystalline α‐TCP and amorphous TCP (ATCP) forming CDHA was retarded to an increasing extent with increasing Sr2+ content. Sr2+ slightly reduced the crystallite size (XRD coherent scattering domains) of the CDHA formed during hydration, while the size of crystals visible under SEM was not noticeably affected. Reaction enthalpies of ΔHR(Sr‐α‐TCP→Sr‐CDHA) = 122 ± 8 J/gTCP and ΔHR(Sr‐ATCP→Sr‐CDHA) = 257 ± 8 J/gTCP were determined for the hydration of crystalline α‐TCP and ATCP containing 5 mol% Sr2+ substitution for Ca2+. This is comparable with the corresponding reaction enthalpies previously obtained for undoped samples, which are 106 ± 7 J/gTCP for α‐TCP and 250 ± 7 J/gTCP for ATCP.  相似文献

Binary anode electrocatalyst formulations were prepared by adsorption of phthalocyanine and tetraphenylporphyrin complexes of different transition metals on a commercial carbon supported platinum catalyst. Only after pyrolyzing the complexes at 700 °C under nitrogen were catalysts of some activity obtained. A binary Pt/Ni electrocatalyst prepared by this procedure exhibits considerable anodic catalytic activity in the acidic environment of the Nafion® electrolyte for reformate and direct methanol oxidation for more than 400 h without deterioration. Ternary electrocatalyst formulations Pt/Ru/W = 1/1/y were produced according to the Bönnemann method. The Pt/Ru/W catalyst of 1/1/1.5 (mol/mol/mol) composition is optimal. Compared to the Pt/Ru catalyst, it enhances the performance of reformate (H2 + 150 ppm CO) fuel cells by 50% and of direct methanol fuel cells (steam/methanol vapour = 50:1 mol/mol) by 80%. Attached to a GC electrode by a thin Nafion® film, the catalysts were also tested for methanol oxidation in aqueous methanol solutions in half cells by slow potential stepping. A comparative evolutionary psychological perspective predicts that species that recurrently faced similar adaptive problems may have evolved similar psychological mechanisms to solve these problems. Sperm competition provides an arena in which to assess the heuristic value of such a comparative evolutionary perspective. The sperm competition that results from female infidelity and polyandry presents a similar class of adaptive problems for individuals across many species. The authors first describe mechanisms of sperm competition in insects and in birds. They suggest that the adaptive problems and evolved solutions in these species provide insight into human anatomy, physiology, psychology, and behavior. The authors then review recent theoretical and empirical arguments for the existence of sperm competition in humans and discuss proposed adaptations in humans that have analogs in insects or birds. High-performance 20-μm unit-cell two-color detectors using an n-p+-n HgCdTe triple-layer heterojunction (TLHJ) device architecture grown by molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) on (211)-oriented CdZnTe substrates with midwavelength (MW) infrared and long wavelength (LW) infrared spectral bands have been demonstrated. Detectors with nominal MW and LW cut-off wavelengths of 5.5 μm and 10.5 μm, respectively, exhibit 78 K LW performance with >70 % quantum efficiency, reverse bias dark currents below 300 pA, and RA products (zero field of view, 150-mV bias) in excess of 1×103 Ωcm2. Temperature-dependent current-voltage (I–V) detector measurements show diffusion-limited LW dark current performance extending to temperatures below 70 K with good operating bias stability (150 mV ± 50 mV). These results reflect the successful implementation of MBE-grown TLHJ detector designs and the introduction of advanced photolithography techniques with inductively coupled plasma (ICP) etching to achieve high aspect ratio mesa delineation of individual detector elements with benefits to detector performance. These detector improvements complement the development of high operability large format 640×480 and 1280×720 two-color HgCdTe infrared focal plane arrays (FPAs) to support third generation forward looking infrared (FLIR) systems.  相似文献

PURPOSE: The present study was conducted to evaluate the role of the duration of exercise and the impact of the exercise type for exercise-induced activation of coagulation. METHODS: Eleven male triathletes were subjected to stepwise maximal (17 min) and 1-h maximal exercise in swimming, cycling, and running. Changes of hemostatic variable sand of plasma thrombomodulin, a marker of endothelial cell activation, were monitored. RESULTS: Irrespective of the type of exercise, alterations in markers of thrombin (prothrombin fragment 1 + 2, thrombin-antithrombin III complexes) and fibrin formation (fibrinopeptide A) were more pronounced after 1-h exercise than after stepwise maximal exercise. Hemostatic parameters rose to the highest levels after running resulting in substantial fibrin formation as indicated by fibrinopeptide A increasing from 1.33 ng.mL-1 to 2.25 ng.mL (P < 0.05) after 1-h exercise testing. Significant changes of plasma thrombomodulin were detected exclusively after running with increases from 38.2 ng.mL-1 to 44.2 ng.mL-1 (1 h, P < 0.01). CONCLUSIONS: The data demonstrated that prolonged exercise is necessary for exercise-induced activation of coagulation resulting in thrombin and fibrin formation and suggested that endothelial cell activation possibly due to mechanical factors associated with running might play a role.  相似文献

Thirty children seen between 1954 and 1970 with the diagnosis of anorexia nervosa were contacted between five and twenty years after initial treatment. Patients outcomes in terms of education, weight in adulthood, medical problems, marriage, psychiatric treatment, and recurrence of anorexia were surveyed. Metal-organic coordination networks (MOCNs) have attracted wide interest because they provide a novel route towards porous materials that may find applications in molecular recognition, catalysis, gas storage and separation. The so-called rational design principle-synthesis of materials with predictable structures and properties-has been explored using appropriate organic molecular linkers connecting to metal nodes to control pore size and functionality of open coordination networks. Here we demonstrate the fabrication of surface-supported MOCNs comprising tailored pore sizes and chemical functionality by the modular assembly of polytopic organic carboxylate linker molecules and iron atoms on a Cu(100) surface under ultra-high-vacuum conditions. These arrays provide versatile templates for the handling and organization of functional species at the nanoscale, as is demonstrated by their use to accommodate C(60) guest molecules. Temperature-controlled studies reveal, at the single-molecule level, how pore size and chemical functionality determine the host-guest interactions.  相似文献
