The search of compounds emitting in the near-infrared (NIR) has been accelerated owing to their use in biomedical and telecommunications applications. In this regard, nanographenes (NGs) are attractive materials adequate for integration with other technologies, which have recently demonstrated amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) and lasing across the visible spectrum. Here, the optical and ASE properties of four-zigzag edged NGs of the [m,n]peri-acenoacene family are reported, whose size is increased through conjugation extension by varying n (from 3 to 5) while keeping m = 2. Results show that such 1D conjugation extension method is more efficient in terms of shifting the photoluminescence (PL) to the infrared (PL at 710 nm in the larger compound, PP-Ar) than through 2D conjugation extension as in previously reported NGs (PL at 676 nm with the largest compound FZ3, with n = 3 and m = 4). Additionally, PP-Ar shows dual-ASE (at 726 and 787 nm), whose origin is elucidated through Raman and transient absorption spectroscopies. These compounds’ potential for red and NIR lasing is demonstrated through the fabrication of distributed feedback lasers with top-layer resonators. This study paves the way towards the development of stable low-cost all-plastic NIR lasers.  相似文献

The thermal conductivity of Manganin (Cu 86 %, Ni 2 %, Mn 12 %) in the range 10–50 mK was measured by means of a new method that uses a metal–insulator junction (M-I.J) of known characteristics to read temperatures at one end of the sample. The same power P that crosses the sample to measure its thermal resistance flows through the M-I.J. A suitable choice of the M-I.J allows the temperature T of the upper end of the sample to rise above 20 mK. T was measured by a small size Ruthenium thermometer.  相似文献

The complexation between 2‐ureido‐4[1H]‐pyrimidinone (UPy) and 2,7‐diamido‐1,8‐naphthyridine (NaPy) is used to promote the mild chemisorption of a UPy‐functionalized terbium(III) double decker system on a silicon surface. The adopted strategy allows the single‐molecule magnet behavior of the system to be maintained unaltered on the surface.  相似文献

In the last two decades, the three‐beam pump–push–probe (PPP) technique has become a well‐established tool for investigating the multidimensional configurational space of a molecule, as it permits disclosure of precious information about the multiple and often complex deactivation pathways of the excited molecule. From the spectroscopic point of view, such a tool has revealed details about the efficiency of charge pair generation and conformational relaxation in π‐conjugated molecules and macromolecules. In addition, PPP is effectively utilized for modulating the gain signal in conjugated materials by taking advantage of the spectral overlap between stimulated emission and charge absorption in those systems. However, the relatively low stability of conjugated polymers under intense photoexcitation is a crucial limitation for their real employment in plastic optical fibers (POFs) and for signal control applications. Herein, the role of PPP for achieving ultrafast all‐optical switching in π‐conjugated systems is highlighted. Furthermore, new experimental data on optical switching of a newly synthesized nanographene molecule, namely dibenzo[hi,st]ovalene (DBOV), is reported. The superior environmental and photostability of DBOV and, in general, of graphene nanostructures can represent a great advantage for their effective applications in POFs and information and communications technology.  相似文献

The melt polycondensation of mixtures of sebacic acid (S), 4,4′‐diacetoxybiphenyl (B), and 4‐acetoxybenzoic acid (H), carried out for the synthesis of semiflexible liquid–crystalline copolyesters referred to as SBH 1 : 1 : x, has been studied with the aim of clarifying the effect of the reaction conditions on the microstructure and the thermal properties of the products. It has been shown that the segregation of a liquid–crystalline phase within the polymerizing mixture, coupled with the thermodynamic tendency of the two phases to undergo compositional differentiation as polymerization proceeds, is responsible for the formation of blocky, rather than ideally random, copolyesters with poor processibility, when the mole ratio of H to the other two monomers is higher than x ≈ 1.90. The results of this study have shown that this unwanted effect can be considerably limited by carrying out the polycondensation at a relatively high temperature from the very beginning, rather than by the standard technique involving progressive heating of the reaction mixture, thus allowing the production of SBH copolyesters with a higher degree of aromaticity. The results are discussed in terms of the relative rates of the condensation reactions, which are responsible for chain growth, and of the concurrent acidolysis and esterolysis reactions leading to copolyester sequence reorganization. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Extracellular vesicles (EVs) shuttle proteins, RNA, DNA, and lipids crucial for cell-to-cell communication. Recent findings have highlighted that EVs, by virtue of their cargo, may also contribute to breast cancer (BC) growth and metastatic dissemination. Indeed, EVs are gaining great interest as non-invasive cancer biomarkers. However, little is known about the biological and physical properties of EVs from malignant BC lesions, and even less is understood about EVs from non-malignant lesions, such as breast fibroadenoma (FAD), which are clinically managed using conservative approaches. Thus, for this pilot study, we attempted to purify and explore the proteomic profiles of EVs from benign breast lesions, HER2+ BCs, triple–negative BCs (TNBCs), and continuous BC cell lines (i.e., BT-549, MCF–10A, and MDA-MB-231), combining experimental and semi-quantitative approaches. Of note, proteome-wide analyses showed 49 common proteins across EVs harvested from FAD, HER2+ BCs, TNBCs, and model BC lines. This is the first feasibility study evaluating the physicochemical composition and proteome of EVs from benign breast cells and primary and immortalized BC cells. Our preliminary results hold promise for possible implications in precision medicine for BC.  相似文献

Space resolved Stark spectroscopy is introduced as a non invasive optical technique for imaging electric field distribution in organic semiconductors. Stark spectroscopy relies on the electric field induced change in the absorption/reflection. It is shown that local monitoring of Stark shift with confocal spatial resolution provides quantitative information on the strength of the local field as well as charge distribution within the transport channel.  相似文献

We propose a new embedded finite element method to simulate partial differential equations over domains with internal interfaces. Our approach belongs to the family of surrogate/approximate interface methods and relies on the idea of shifting the location and value of jump interface conditions. This choice has the goal of preserving optimal convergence rates while avoiding small cut cells and related problematic issues, typical of traditional embedded methods. The proposed approach is accurate, robust, efficient, and simple to implement. We apply this concept to internal interface computations in the context of the mixed Poisson problem, also known as the Darcy flow problem. An extensive set of numerical tests is provided to demonstrate the performance of the proposed approach.  相似文献
