In this work, we described the preparation of hydrosolubles thermosensitive copolymers obtained via free radical polymerization in aqueous media. The reactions were carried out under different molar ratio of acrylamide and N-isopropylacrylamide (NIPAM) and are considered [80]/[20], [60]/[40], [50]/[50], [40]/[60] and [20]/[80], respectively. The initial concentration of monomer mixture was kept at 3% (weight) based on the water volume. The polymerizations were performed at 70 °C under mechanical agitation during 7 h and the molar ratio between monomer and initiator (4,4′-azobis cyano pentanoic acid) was kept at 0.07%. The copolymers were characterized and results demonstrated that the monomer concentrations were closed to previously feed to the reaction. The turbidity point rises according to the quantity of poly(acrylamide), PAM, incorporated into the copolymers (composition value). Also, it was observed that the molecular weight of each copolymer decreases when the amount of NIPAM increases. On the other hand, the viscosity of all copolymers growth compared to the increase in the temperature from 25 to 70 °C is observed. Notwithstanding, in the case of copolymer with highest NIPAM concentration (CP5), the viscosity decreases in the temperature range from 60 to 70 °C.  相似文献

Because of the computational power of today??s GPUs, they are starting to be harnessed more and more to help out CPUs on high-performance computing. In addition, an increasing number of today??s state-of-the-art supercomputers include commodity GPUs to bring us unprecedented levels of performance in terms of raw GFLOPS and GFLOPS/cost. In this work, we present a GPU implementation of an image processing application of growing popularity: The 2D fast wavelet transform (2D-FWT). Based on a pair of Quadrature Mirror Filters, a complete set of application-specific optimizations are developed from a CUDA perspective to achieve outstanding factor gains over a highly optimized version of 2D-FWT run in the CPU. An alternative approach based on the Lifting Scheme is also described in Franco et al. (Acceleration of the 2D wavelet transform for CUDA-enabled Devices, 2010). Then, we investigate hardware improvements like multicores on the CPU side, and exploit them at thread-level parallelism using the OpenMP API and pthreads . Overall, the GPU exhibits better scalability and parallel performance on large-scale images to become a solid alternative for computing the 2D-FWT versus those thread-level methods run on emerging multicore architectures.  相似文献

Cloud computing is revealing a new scenario where different cloud customers need to collaborate to meet client demands. The cloud stack must be able to support this situation by enabling collaborative agreements between cloud customers. However, these collaborations entail new security risks since participating entities should trust each other to share a set of resources. The management of trust relationships in the cloud is gaining importance as a key element to establish a secure environment where entities are given full control in the definition of which particular services or resources they are willing to share. Entities can cooperate at different levels of trust, according to their willingness of sharing information. This paper analyses these collaboration agreements defining a taxonomy of different levels of trust relationships among customers for the cloud. Privacy concerns, assumed risk, as well as easiness in the definition of the trust relationships have been taken into account. A set of different trust relationships have been identified and modeled, enabling entities to control the information they share with others in the cloud. The proposed model has been validated with a prototypical implementation. Likewise, some examples to illustrate the application of these trust models to common cloud collaboration scenarios are provided.  相似文献

The production of polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) from organic acids by mixed bacterial cultures using a process based on aerobic enrichment of activated sludge, that selects for mixed microbial cultures able to store PHAs at high rates and yields, is described. Enrichment resulted from the selective pressure established by periodic feeding the carbon source in a sequencing batch reactor (SBR); a mixture of acetic, lactic and propionic acids was fed at high frequency (2 hourly), high dilution rate (1 d−1), and at high organic load rate (12.75 g chemical oxygen demand (COD) L−1 d−1). The performance of the SBR was assessed by microbial biomass and PHA production as well as the composition and polymer content of the biomass. A final batch stage was used to increase the polymer concentration of the excess sludge produced in the SBR and in which the behaviour of the biomass was investigated by determining PHA production rates and yields. The microbial biomass selected in the SBR produced PHAs at high rate [278 mg PHAs (as COD) g biomass (as COD)−1 h−1, with a yield of 0.39 mg PHAs (as COD) mg removed substrates (as COD)−1], reaching a polymer content higher than 50% (on a COD basis). The stored polymer was the copolymer poly(3‐hydroxybutyrate/3‐hydroxyvalerate) [P(HB/HV)], with an HV fraction of 18% mol mol−1. The microbial community selected in the SBR was analysed by DGGE (denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis). The operating conditions of the SBR were shown to select for a restricted microbial population which appeared quite different in terms of composition with respect to the initial microbial cenosis in the activated sludge used as inoculum. On the basis of the sequencing of the major bands in the DGGE profiles, four main genera were identified: a Methylobacteriaceae bacterium, Flavobacterium sp, Candidatus Meganema perideroedes, and Thauera sp. The effects of nitrogen depletion (ie absence of growth) and pH variation were also investigated in the batch stage and compared with the SBR operative mode. Absence of growth did not stimulate higher PHA production, so indicating that the periodic feed regime fully exploited the storage potential of the enriched culture. Polymer production rates remained high between pH 6.5 and 9.5, whereas the HV content in the stored polymer strongly increased as the pH value increased. This study shows that polymer composition in the final batch stage can readily be controlled independently from the feed composition in the SBR. Copyright © 2005 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

The influence of the metabolic phenotypes NAT2 and CYP1A2 on urinary mutagenicity of 118 smokers was studied. Mutagenicity of urine samples was determined by Ames test (preincubation plate incorporation assay on YG1024 Salmonella typhimurium strain with S9 mix). Urinary nicotine plus its metabolites were determined to check cigarette smoke intake. The N -acetyltransferase (NAT2) and cytochrome P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) phenotypes were measured by the molar ratio of urinary caffeine metabolites, determined by HPLC analysis. Urinary mutagenicity was significantly higher in smokers CYP1A2 extensive (EM) than in CYP1A2 poor metabolizers (PM) (Mann-Whitney U test, p = 0.020). Linear multiple regression analysis shows that an increase in urinary mutagenicity levels was significantly related to cigarette smoke intake and to CYP1A2 N -hydroxylation activity ( t = 5.06, p < 0.001, and t = 2.33, p = 0.021), but not to NAT2 acetylation phenotype. In conclusion, phenotypic differences in metabolic activation of tobacco smoke mutagens are able to modulate the presence of mutagens in urine of cigarette smokers and, consequently, the potential genotoxic risk.  相似文献

Parallel accelerators are playing an increasingly important role in scientific computing. However, it is perceived that their weakness nowadays is their reduced “programmability” in comparison with traditional general-purpose CPUs. For the domain of dense linear algebra, we demonstrate that this is not necessarily the case. We show how the libflame library carefully layers routines and abstracts details related to storage and computation, so that extending it to take advantage of multiple accelerators is achievable without introducing platform specific complexity into the library code base. We focus on the experience of the library developer as he develops a library routine for a new operation, reduction of a generalized Hermitian positive definite eigenvalue problem to a standard Hermitian form, and configures the library to target a multi-GPU platform. It becomes obvious that the library developer does not need to know about the parallelization or the details of the multi-accelerator platform. Excellent performance on a system with four NVIDIA Tesla C2050 GPUs is reported. This makes libflame the first library to be released that incorporates multi-GPU functionality for dense matrix computations, setting a new standard for performance.  相似文献

We define (bi)simulations up-to a preorder and show how we can use them to provide a coinductive, (bi)simulation-like, characterisation of semantic (equivalences) preorders for processes. In particular, we can apply our results to all the semantics in the linear time-branching time spectrum that are defined by preorders coarser than the ready simulation preorder.The relation between bisimulations up-to and simulations up-to allows us to find some new relations between the equivalences that define the semantics and the corresponding preorders. In particular, we have shown that the simulation up-to an equivalence relation is a canonical preorder whose kernel is the given equivalence relation. Since all of these canonical preorders are defined in an homogeneous way, we can prove properties for them in a generic way. As an illustrative example of this technique, we generate an axiomatic characterisation of each of these canonical preorders, that is obtained simply by adding a single axiom to the axiomatization of the original equivalence relation. Thus we provide an alternative axiomatization for any axiomatizable preorder in the linear time-branching time spectrum, whose correctness and completeness can be proved once and for all.Although we first prove, by induction, our results for finite processes, then we see, by using continuity arguments, that they are also valid for infinite (finitary) processes.  相似文献

This paper presents a modified combined cycle – low temperature cogeneration power plant which is currently in operation. For this plant, a parametric analysis is done for the most important operating conditions in order to identify alternative cogeneration applications which are different from the current plant. Thus, after a preliminary study of various layouts to use as efficiently as possible the waste heat from the steam turbine condensate, desalinization plants prove to be the best solution.For the selected plant, the performance of the whole cogeneration plant – combined cycle and desalinization – has been analyzed with a stationary lumped volume model. Results from this model are shown throughout this work, and qualitative and numerical conclusions are presented in order to supply design and optimization guidelines for this kind of combined heat and power plants.  相似文献
