This paper considers ‘two-stage’ call centers where some incoming calls are completed by first service while others require an additional second service. Although this type of call center is not uncommon, it has not been dealt with, if any, in the call center literature. In this paper, we introduce the concept of the ‘two-stage’ call center and discuss its features. Furthermore, we develop an effective outsourcing strategy in ‘two-stage’ call centers. To this end, we model ‘two-stage’ service system and propose several call routing structures. Developing future weapons systems has become increasingly complicated and costly. The armed forces of major nations use modeling and simulation techniques for new weapons systems from the conceptual stage to design, production, deployment and training stages to shorten the development cycle and guarantee their effectiveness. Failure in the development cycle carries too much loss in time and money. Therefore, computer-based modeling and simulation techniques are applied from the conceptual stage to gauge the efficacy of new weapons systems. The objective of this study is to develop a modeling and simulation methodology for small scale engagement using the DEVS formalism. The entities required for modeling and simulation are divided into three categories: combat, logical, and environmental entities. Combat entities represent the military hardware or combatants; logical entities represent the judgment and decision entities for the interaction between various entities; and environmental entities emulate the constituents of real combat environment. The combat entities are further modeled into Shell and Core Parts to maximize their reusability under various combat scenarios. Abstract— The stability of oxide TFTs has been the main focus of this research and is probably the most crucial requirement for the successful application to flat‐panel displays. Although the high Fermi level of oxide semiconductors makes TFTs basically stable under electrical stress, the device reliability under diverse variations of electrical stress is affected by materials such as active semiconductors and gate insulators, processes for the formation of back/front channels and passivation layers, and device configurations among other things. How these factors affect the device reliability have been investigated and a review of the stability is presented. In financial service industry, service improvement should be considered from process viewpoint and customer viewpoint because the value creation is ultimately linked with internal business processes on the back office and customers are involved as a co-producer of value. In this perspective, customer complaints through call centers are adequate to support the analysis for service improvement in financial service industry. In this study, we propose a web-based decision support system for business process management employing customer complaints, namely Voice of the Customer (VOC), and its handling data for service improvement. A superhydrophobic micromesh covered with nanoprotrusions has been introduced and its applicability to a waterproof mobile phone speaker has been evaluated. The nanotextured superhydrophobic micromesh showed excellent water repellency, self-cleaning and waterproofing performances. In a waterproof speaker test using the fabricated nanotextured micromesh, the micromesh did not lose its waterproof function at 2 m water depth and did not form a remnant water film after being removed from the water. The packaged speaker showed almost the same sound quality before and after dipping at a 2 m water depth. These results demonstrate that the superhydrophobic nanotextured micromesh could be directly applicable for various products that need to resist water penetration, yet allow the transmission of gases and sound/light waves. 相似文献

sonar sensors. The topological model is extracted from a grid map using cell decomposition and normalized graph cut. The autonomous
topological modeling involves the incremental extraction of a subregion without predefining the number of subregions. A method
of topological localization based on this topological model is proposed wherein a current local grid map is compared with
the original grid map. The localization is accomplished by obtaining a node probability from a relative motion model and rotational
invariant grid-map matching. The proposed method extracts a well-structured topological model of the environment, and the
localization provides reliable node probability even when presented with sparse and uncertain sonar data. Experimental results

Here we present a method for selectively and efficiently immobilizing antibodies to enhance the detection performance of surface plasmon resonance immune-sensors (SPRIs) for diagnostic applications. To improve the performance of antibody arrays, protein G was used as antibody-selective linkage layer with aldehyde functionalized poly-(para-xylylene) film. To estimate the efficiency of antibody immobilization, immunoglobulin G (IgG) was measured using the anti-IgG immobilized SPRIs. To demonstrate the proof-of-concept validation, the signal detected from the IgG using parylene-H film was compared with that of a combination of parylene-H and protein G in SPRIs. The results showed that the detection of IgG on the immobilized anti-IgG layer using the combination of parylene-H and protein G has a larger change of signal than that of using parylene-H layer. These results also imply that the anti-IgG was densely and efficiently immobilized on the modified surface with the linkage layer in a combination with parylene-H and protein G. Therefore, we believe that this combinatorial approach could selectively immobilize the antibodies, and also be applied for detection and diagnosis of immune diseases in the field of many SPRIs applications. 相似文献

This article presents a simulation method for the design of a digitally controlled oscillator (DCO). Electromagnetic (EM) simulations are essential and inevitable for modern LC oscillator design. Although EM‐simulators provide high accuracy, the EM‐simulation time is very long when metal‐oxide‐metal (MoM) capacitors are present. The proposed frame‐based EM‐simulation can significantly reduce the EM‐simulation time even in the presence of MoM capacitors without influencing the accuracy. To verify the proposed method, a DCO was fabricated using a 55‐nm CMOS process. Measurements of the DCO are in good agreement with the frame‐based post‐layout simulation results.
