We have evaluated the use of proteinase K (PK)-treated cells isolated from Helicobacter pylori as lipopolysaccharide (LPS) antigens in an immunoblot assay and an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) for the serodiagnosis of H. pylori infection. The sera from patients with chronic gastritis, gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer or gastric cancer, and from healthy adults with or without H. pylori infection were assayed with three commercial serodiagnostic kits (HM-CAP, Helico-G, and G.A.P. II) and novel methods relying on the use of PK-treated cells. The PK-treated cells used in these assays were selected on the basis of their possibility to possess a common epitope in the O-polysaccharides of H. pylori, which is known to be highly immunogenic in humans. Of the sera from these patients, 71-94% were positive with the commercial kits, 97% with immunoblot assay, and 90% with ELISA. On the other hand, of the healthy adults infected with H. pylori, 72-97% were positive with the commercial kits, 86% with immunoblot assay, and 72% with ELISA. PK-treated cells that did not contain the common epitope were unsuitable as an antigen for immunoblot assay or ELISA. Furthermore, the reactivity of these sera reacted specifically with H. pylori PK-treated cells but not with LPSs from other gram-negative bacteria, such as Campylobacter, Proteus, Bordetella, and Salmonella. These results demonstrate that the serological assays relying on the use of H. pylori PK-treated cells possessing a highly antigenic epitope are potentially useful as a serodiagnostic test for H. pylori infection.  相似文献

A high frequency dielectric measurement method was proposed using a non-contact probe. The microwave reflection intensity was measured for Al2O3 and SrTiO3 substrates at room temperature as a function of distance between sample and probe. The difference of reflection intensity for Al2O3 and SrTiO3 substrates was observed in the region where the distance of 0.2 mm between sample and probe, and it was caused from dielectric permittivities of samples. The reflection coefficient of sample was estimated in comparison with results of electromagnetic simulation. The reflection intensity for Al2O3 and SrTiO3 substrates was transformed to dielectric permittivity at reflection intensity minimum point.  相似文献

We describe a compact free-space photonic-switching module that uses micro-beam optical interconnections based on stacked planar optics and exciton absorption reflection switch (EARS) arrays. The switching module has two-dimensional fiber array pigtails and a two-stage, 16-input, 16-output structure (four sets of 4/spl times/4 switches). The microbeam optical interconnections can provide a compact switching module (approximately 30/spl times/90/spl times/22 mm [60 cc]). A relay lens array inserted between stages eliminates beam spreading in the switch and decreases the coupling loss and crosstalk of interconnections. Two-stage switching at a data transmission rate of 4 Mbit/s is demonstrated.  相似文献

 Lithography as deep as 400 μm has been carried out to fabricate X-rays refractive lenses using a low energy synchrotron source (AURORA-2 S, 0.7 GeV). The lens made of PMMA has two parabolic curvatures with radii R=4 μm and apertures A=2(2Rz)1/2=179 μm, thus the aspect ratio z/R=250 for its curvatures, which is too great for traditional techniques to achieve. Upon fabrication of the lenses, precision of the curvatures has been evaluated by digital imaging analysis. The lens can singly focus a beam of hard X-rays into several microns at a reasonable focal length F=1.5 m. Advantages of using a low energy source for the LIGA process will be discussed regarding problems such as thick absorbers demanded by the LIGA mask and heat-load occurring in thick resist layers. This paper concerns the treatment, in the context of machine translation, of English complex nominal groups which can be considered as nominalizations of verb phrases. We discuss the fact that many styles of English prose which are suitable for translation by machine typically favor the use of nominal rather than verbal syntagms. But such constructions when translated literally are often considered unnatural. The general problem is described in detail, with examples. The more specific problem of recognizing nominalizations and analyzing their structure is considered. Reduction of flash during injection molding is of great concern for manufacturers of electrical parts. In a previous report, we proposed a theoretical model for flash generation. The present study investigates the effect of processing conditions on flash generation and then attempts to analyze the flash data in terms of the flash model. Specifically, we carry out flow analyses to predict the temperature and pressure of materials when the flash generates. With the thus‐computed parameters, and material properties such as melt viscosity and crystallization temperature, a flash parameter defined in the model is calculated. In the end, it is shown that the flash parameter is correlated with the length of flash generated under various processing conditions. POLYM. ENG.
