Exposure to cosmic radiation in operation of a jet aircraft is considered to be a part of the occupational exposure. Cosmic radiation doses received in aviation are generally evaluated by numerical model simulations. The precision of the model calculation should be verified by measurements. From the viewpoint of radiological protection, neutrons are the most contributing radiation component and have to be precisely measured. Neutron measurements were thus performed in a long-haul flight using a relatively new transportable neutron monitor (WENDI-II) which responds fairly well to the cosmic-ray neutrons. The in-flight measurement was carried out on 5-6 November 2009 on a polar route flight from New York/John F. Kennedy airport to Seoul/Incheon airport. The flying time was ~14 h. The observations obtained as 1 cm ambient dose equivalent were compared with model calculations using a computer program developed by the authors for the calculation of aviation route doses 'JISCARD EX'. Good agreements between the measured and calculated values were observed over the polar route where the geomagnetic cut-off rigidity is the lowest.  相似文献

We have developed a method to use a half-size data page between two full-size data pages to increase the recording density in angular multiplexing holographic memory up to 1.5× as much as the conventional angular multiplexing sequence. In our recording sequence, the full- and half-size data pages are alternately multiplexed. This is because each plane wave from various points in a data page has different angular selectivity. A half-size data page has higher angular selectivity than a full-size data page. The required angular intervals were estimated by numerical simulation taking holographic medium tilt into account. Also, an angular multiplexing experiment using the half-data-page insertion method resulted in a low bit error rate of the order of 10(-3), which is sufficient for practical use.  相似文献

Epitaxial Pb(Zr0.35Ti0.65)O3 (PZT) thin films with tetragonal symmetry and thicknesses ranging from 45 to 230 nm were grown at 540 °C on SrRuO3-coated (001)SrTiO3 substrates by pulse-injected metalorganic chemical vapor deposition. The effect of the film thickness on the ferroelectric domain structure and the dielectric and ferroelectric properties were systematically investigated. Domain structure analysis of epitaxial PZT films was accomplished with high-resolution X-ray diffraction reciprocal space mapping and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy. Fully polar-axis (c-axis)-oriented epitaxial PZT thin films with high ferroelectric polarization values [e.g., remanent polarization (P r) ~ 90 μC/cm2] were observed for film thicknesses below 70 nm. Films thicker than 70 nm had a c/a/c/a polydomain structure and the relative volume fraction of c-domains monotonously decreased to about 72% on increasing the film thickness up to 230 nm , and finally P r diminished to about 64 μC/cm2 for the 230-nm-thick epitaxial film. These polarization values were in good agreement with the estimated values taking into account the volume fraction of the c-axis-oriented domains while assuming a negligible contribution of 90° domain reorientation caused by an externally applied electric field.  相似文献

The superconducting transition of the organic compoundsκ-(BEDT-TTF)2 X is studied by resistive measurement in a magnetic field up to 10 T applied normal to the conducting plane. For the salts withX=Cu[N(CN)2]Br andX=CuCN[N(CN)2] the transition shows fanshaped broadening caused by superconductivity fluctuation. For theX=Cu(NCS)2 salt the resistivity shows a peak in the transition region in a magnetic field below 4 T.This phenomenon is suppressed in defect-reduced samples for intralayer conduction. We discuss this peak in relation to the thermal fluctuation on the Josephson junction structures in this salt.  相似文献

Bonding a fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) sheet to the tension-side surface of reinforced concrete (RC) structures is often performed to upgrade the flexural capacity and stiffness. Except for upper concrete crushing, FRP sheet reinforcing RC structure may fail in sheet rupture, sheet peeloff failure due to opening of a critical diagonal crack, or concrete cover delamination failure from the sheet end. Accompanying the occurrence of these failure modes, reinforcing effects of the FRP sheet will be lost and load-carrying capacity of the RC structures will be decreased suddenly. This study is devoted to developing a numerical analysis method by using a three-dimensional elasto-plastic finite element method to simulate the load-carrying capacity of RC beams failed in the FRP sheet peeloff mode. Here, the discrete crack approach was employed to consider geometrical discontinuities such as opening of cracks, slipping of rebar, and debonding of the FRP sheet. Comparisons between analytical and experimental results confirm that the proposed numerical analysis method is appropriate for estimating the load-carrying capacity and failure behavior of RC beams flexurally reinforced with a FRP sheet.  相似文献

The activities of FexO in CaO + CaF2 + SiO2 + FexO quaternary slags were measured by means of solid-oxide galvanic cell. The FexO activities in the slags are influenced by CaF2 as well as SiO2. At constant FexO mole fractions, e.g., , at low SiO2 mole fractions i.e., , the substitution of CaF2 for CaO has an effect of raising the FexO activity. At higher SiO2 mole fractions, e.g., , however, such an effect becomes insignificant.  相似文献

The tensile properties of directionally solidified Al-4 wt pct Cu-0.15-0.2 wt pct Ti alloys with equiaxed grains were determined and compared with the properties of directionally solidified Al-4 wt pct Cu columnar structures. The tensile properties of the equiaxed structure were isotropic, but varied with the distance from the chill face. The mechanical properties of the equiaxed structure were generally between those of the longitudinal and transverse columnar structures. The 0.2 pct offset yield stress y, MPa) is represented as a function of the grain size,d (mm), the average concentration, Co (wt pct), and the local concentration, C (wt pct), by σy = [(15.7 + 22.6 Co) + (1.24 + 1.04 Co)d -1/2] + [15.7 △C], where △C = C - Co. The equiaxed structure exhibits inverse segregation similar to that in the columnar structure.  相似文献

In order to examine the applicability of the electrolytic reduction process of U(VI) (originally developed for the chloride system by PNC) to the sulfate solution system, a fundamental study was made. In this study, the concentrations of various chemical species in the catholytes were calculated at 298 K at various percentages of uranium reduction, taking the chloro-complex and sulfato-complex formation reactions of uranium into consideration. The polarization characteristics of the electrolytic reduction of uranyl chloride and uranyl sulfate were determined, using titanium and platinum cathodes, respectively, at 303 ± 1 K. In conjunction with this process, the electrical conductivity of the catholyte, the electrical resistivity of the cation exchange membrane, and the diffusion coefficient of uranyl sulfate were also determined.  相似文献

Various characteristics of γ′/γ phase equilibrium in ternary Ni−Al-X alloys are analyzed by the cluster variation method (CVM) with the phenomenological Lennard-Jones pair potential. Among the eleven alloy elements studied, three types of substitution behavior in γ′,i.e., the preferential substitution for Ni sites (Co and Cu), the almost entire substitution for Al sites (Ti, Nb, Mo, Hf, Ta, and W), and the substitution for both (Cr, Mn, and Fe), are recognized depending upon the relative magnitude of the Ni−X and Al−X interactions. In the last type, the substitution site appears to depend remarkably upon the Al and/or X concentrations in γ′: while X atoms enter preferentially, the Al sublattice in the case that the sum of the two concentations is less than the stoichiometry composition (0.25), they begin to enter the Ni sublattice as the sum exceeds it. The predicted substitution behavior is in good agreement with direct and indirect experimental evidences thus far reported. The direction of γ′/γ equilibrium phase boundaries, the equilibrium partition coefficient of X, and the effects of alloying upon the order-disorder transformation temperature from metastable γ′ to γ all appear to be closely related to substitution behavior. Also, the variation of lattice constants of γ′ and γ with the alloy element concentration may be better understood by collation with the substitution sites or the short range order in each phase.  相似文献
