Document layout analysis or page segmentation is the task of decomposing document images into many different regions such as texts, images, separators, and tables. It is still a challenging problem due to the variety of document layouts. In this paper, we propose a novel hybrid method, which includes three main stages to deal with this problem. In the first stage, the text and non-text elements are classified by using minimum homogeneity algorithm. This method is the combination of connected component analysis and multilevel homogeneity structure. Then, in the second stage, a new homogeneity structure is combined with an adaptive mathematical morphology in the text document to get a set of text regions. Besides, on the non-text document, further classification of non-text elements is applied to get separator regions, table regions, image regions, etc. The final stage, in refinement region and noise detection process, all regions both in the text document and non-text document are refined to eliminate noises and get the geometric layout of each region. The proposed method has been tested with the dataset of ICDAR2009 page segmentation competition and many other databases with different languages. The results of these tests showed that our proposed method achieves a higher accuracy compared to other methods. This proves the effectiveness and superiority of our method. 相似文献

Graphical models have been employed in a wide variety of computer vision tasks. Assignments of latent variables in typical models usually suffer the confused explanation in sampling way. In this paper we present discriminative sequential association Latent Dirichlet Allocation, a novel statistical model for the task of visual recognition, and especially focus on the case of few training examples. By introducing the switching variables and formulating the direct discriminative analysis, the sequential associations are considered as priori to establish a relevance determination mechanism to obtain the reasonable assignments of latent variables and avoid the invalid labeling oscillations. We demonstrate the power of our model on two common-used datasets, and the experiment results show that our model can achieve better performances with efficient convergence and give well interpretations of specific topic assignments at the same time. 相似文献

The train stop control is a typical set‐point control task, where only the final state (i.e., the terminal train stop position) is of concern and specified. For such a control problem, an optimal terminal iterative learning control (TILC) approach is presented in this paper, where the stopping position and initial braking speed are chosen as the terminal system output and the control input, respectively. The controller design only depends on the measured input/output (I/O) data without requiring any modeling information of the train operation system, and the learning gain is updated by the system I/O data iteratively to accommodate the system uncertainties. The monotonic convergence of the terminal tracking error is guaranteed by rigorous mathematical analysis. The optimal viewing distance was proposed as a parameter for designing a parallax barrier 3D display. It can be designed based on simple geometric method and by considering the pitches of image display pixels and parallax barrier, or even including the aperture ratios of the image display pixels and parallax barrier. It can be analyzed by using ray tracing method. By considering the optical refraction index of the cover glass, the angular behavior of the system becomes more realistic; however, the geometric method is difficult to be used. We propose a revised method for estimating the view distance and angular behavior. In this paper, we have demonstrated a designated eye position (DEP) for each view and shown that multiple DEPs make a circular curve around the center of the display. In this paper, we introduce an internet voting protocol which satisfies desired security requirements of electronic voting. In the newly proposed protocol, we allow the adversaries to get more power than in any previous works. They can be coercers or vote buyers outside, and corrupted parties inside our system. These adversaries also have ability to collude with each other to ruin the whole system. Our main contribution is to design an internet voting protocol which is unsusceptible to most of sophisticated attacks. We employ the blind signature technique and the dynamic ballots instead of complex cryptographic techniques to preserve privacy in electronic voting. This paper presents a bio-inspired mechanism design for a quadruped walking robot. The approach is derived from the observation on the behaviors of quadruped locomotion, skeletal structure, and the study on the stability of walking based on morphological analysis. In the first, we define the design parameters such as the dimensions of the body and limbs, the center of mass position, and locomotion mechanisms based on surveys on the literatures from biologists. Then, by using the parameters, we propose an useful framework for determining the design parameters of a quadruped walking robot. For implementations, we manufacture a dog-type self-contained quadruped walking robot, named AiDIN-III (Artificial Digitigrade for Natural Environment version III) and the effectiveness of the proposed idea is validated via experimental works. 相似文献
