This work reports the growth and characterization of p-AlInN layers doped with Mg by plasma-assisted molecular beam epitaxy (PAMBE). AlInN was grown with an Al molar fraction of 0.80 by metal-modulated epitaxy (MME) with a thickness of 180 nm on Si(111) substrates using AlN as buffer layers. Low substrate temperatures were used to enhance the incorporation of indium atoms into the alloy without clustering, as confirmed by X-ray diffraction (XRD). Cathodoluminescence measurements revealed ultraviolet (UV) range emissions. Meanwhile, Hall effect measurements indicated a maximum hole mobility of 146 cm2/(V∙s), corresponding to a free hole concentration of 1.23 × 1019 cm−3. The samples were analyzed by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) estimating the alloy composition and extracting the Fermi level by valence band analysis. Mg-doped AlInN layers were studied for use as the electron-blocking layer (EBL) in LED structures. We varied the Al composition in the EBL from 0.84 to 0.96 molar fraction to assess its theoretical effects on electroluminescence, carrier concentration, and electric field, using SILVACO Atlas. The results from this study highlight the importance and capability of producing high-quality Mg-doped p-AlInN layers through PAMBE. Our simulations suggest that an Al content of 0.86 is optimal for achieving desired outcomes in electroluminescence, carrier concentration, and electric field.  相似文献

In this paper we present a methodology for extracting information about lexical translation equivalences from the machine readable versions of conventional dictionaries (MRDs), and describe a series of experiments on semi-automatic construction of a linked multilinguallexical knowledge base for English, Dutch, and Spanish. We discuss the advantages and limitations of using MRDs that this has revealed, and some strategies we have developed to cover gaps where no direct translation can be found.  相似文献

The concentrations of total arsenic in cow’s raw milk and in the livestock drinking water were determined and compared, in order to establish the influence of natural arsenic levels in groundwaters on the final presence of arsenic in milk production of the most important dairy region in Argentina. A dry ashing procedure was used for the mineralisation of the milk samples. The total arsenic concentrations were determined by flow injection hydride generation atomic absorption spectrometry (FI-HGAAS). The mineralised milk samples and well water samples were pre-reduced with concentrated HCl and KI–C6H8O6 solutions. A volume of 500 μl of each solution of pre-treated sample was transported by a HCl 1.2 mol l−1 carrier solution at a flow rate of 11 ml min−1 and merged with a reducing NaBH4 0.2% (m/v) solution which flowed at 5.5 ml min−1. The hydride generated in a reaction coil was transported to the detector with a N2 flow of 100 ml min−1. The recovery values of added concentrations at levels of 2.5 μg l−1 and 5.0 μg l−1 of arsenic in milk were 103 ± 8% and 102 ± 6% for n = 3, respectively. The accuracy of the method for the determination of total arsenic in water was checked by analysis of a certified sample NIST 1643d. Detection limits were 0.7 μg l−1 and 0.6 μg l−1 for milk and well water, respectively. The results showed a low biological transference level of arsenic to the cow milk from the drinking water ingestion.  相似文献

This paper presents a comparative study of H2 absorption and desorption in MgH2 milled with NbF5 or NbH0.9. The addition of NbF5 or NbH0.9 greatly improves hydriding and dehydriding kinetics. After 80 h of milling the mixture of MgH2 with 7 mol.% of NbF5 absorbs 60% of its hydrogen capacity at 250 °C in 30 s, whereas the mixture with 7 mol.% of NbH0.9 takes up 48%, and MgH2 milled without additive only absorbs 2%. At the same temperature, hydrogen desorption in the mixture with NbF5 finishes in 10 min, whereas the mixture with NbH0.9 only desorbs 50% of its hydrogen content, and MgH2 without additive practically does not releases hydrogen. The kinetic improvement is attributed to NbH0.9, a phase observed in the hydrogen cycled MgH2 + NbF5 and MgH2 + NbH0.9 materials, either hydrided or dehydrided. The better kinetic performance of the NbF5-added material is attributed to the combination of smaller size and enhanced distribution of NbH0.9 with more favorable microstructural characteristics. The addition of NbF5 also produces the formation of Mg(HxF1-x)2 solid solutions that limit the practically achievable hydrogen storage capacity of the material. Psychrotrophic bacteria behaviour, when gamma irradiation is applied with shelf-life extension purposes to a fresh squid product, was modelled. In this regard, the effect of gamma irradiation at 0, 1.8, 3.3 and 5.8 kGy on psychrotrophic microorganisms in vacuum-packed squid (Illex argentinus) rings was analysed during storage at 4–5 °C. First-order kinetics satisfactorily described the radio-induced inactivation of the initial psychrotrophs population. The growth of surviving bacteria during storage was fitted to two empirical models: modified Gompertz model and a polynomial expression dependent on irradiation dose and storage time. In turn, the influence of irradiation dose on kinetic parameters of Gompertz model was described by second order polynomials. Both proposed models satisfactorily described the behaviour of psychrotrophs as affected by gamma irradiation, allowing accurate shelf-life predictions for doses up to 5.3 kGy. Considering the predictions accuracy, complete Gompertz model was preferred and model validation was done for irradiation at 4.8 kGy.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: The present work was carried out because there is only a small amount of literature on how the volatile composition of tomatoes can be modified by the effect of exogenous substances in contact with tomato plants. This work studies how eugenol and guaiacol, either by foliar application and/or in the surrounding atmosphere, can affect the volatile composition of this fruit. An important work of this study was also conduced to validate the analytical method [headspace stir bar sorptive extraction–gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (HS‐SBSE‐GC‐MS)] to determine the composition of the volatiles in tomato. RESULTS: Analytical method validation parameters such as linearity, limit of detection, limit of quantification, and recovery proved that this method is suitable for the analysis of tomato volatiles. Their eugenol and guaiacol content changed, with an increase of 200 and 35 times, respectively, when foliar treatment was used, and an increase of 10, in both cases, when plants were in contact with the contaminated atmosphere. As consequence of the treatments other volatile compounds changed considerably. CONCLUSION: For first time, a HS‐SBSE‐GC‐MS method was successfully validated for the study of volatiles in tomatos. Results suggests that exogenous compounds in contact with the plants, such as eugenol and guaiacol, can be absorbed changing the global volatile composition of fruits, which could produce a negative or positive effect in their aroma. © 2012 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

The non-digestible fraction (NDF) of common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) cultivar Bayo Madero was evaluated for its chemopreventive effect on azoxymethane (AOM) induced aberrant crypt foci (ACF) in rats. Diets containing cooked beans (CB) or its non-digestible fraction (NDF) were fed to 72 male rats after 2 azoxymethane injections (15 mg kg(-1) of body weight once a week for 2 weeks). ACF number, short chain fatty acids (SCFA) and β-glucuronidase activity were measured in colon sections from rats sacrificed 7 weeks after the last AOM injection. Food intake and weight gain of rats were unaffected by CB and NDF. CB and NDF suppressed the AOM-induced formation of ACF (0.8 and 1.5 ACF/distal zone, respectively vs. 6.6 ACF/distal zone based on methylene blue stain) and lowered β-glucuronidase activity in cecal, colonic and fecal content compared to AOM group. SCFA production was not significantly different among fecal, cecal and colonic content. These results indicate that CB and NDF from Bayo Madero provide direct chemoprotection against early stage of azoxymethane (AOM)-induced colon cancer in rats.  相似文献

Mechanical metamaterials inspired by the Japanese art of paper folding have gained considerable attention because of their potential to yield deployable and highly tunable assemblies. The inherent foldability of origami structures enlarges the material design space with remarkable properties such as auxeticity and high deformation recoverability and deployability, the latter being key in applications where spatial constraints are pivotal. This work integrates the results of the design, 3D direct laser writing fabrication, and in situ scanning electron microscopic mechanical characterization of microscale origami metamaterials, based on the multimodal assembly of Miura‐Ori tubes. The origami‐architected metamaterials, achieved by means of microfabrication, display remarkable mechanical properties: stiffness and Poisson’s ratio tunable anisotropy, large degree of shape recoverability, multistability, and even reversible auxeticity whereby the metamaterial switches Poisson’s ratio sign during deformation. The findings here reported underscore the scalable and multifunctional nature of origami designs, and pave the way toward harnessing the power of origami engineering at small scales.  相似文献

Annihilation of vacancy clusters in monolayer molybdenum diselenide (MoSe2) under electron beam irradiation is reported. In situ high-resolution transmission electron microscopy observation reveals that the annihilation is achieved by diffusion of vacancies to the free edge near the vacancy clusters. Monte Carlo simulations confirm that it is energetically favorable for the vacancies to locate at the free edge. By computing the minimum energy path for the annihilation of one vacancy cluster as a case study, it is further shown that electron beam irradiation and pre-stress in the suspended MoSe2 monolayer are necessary for the vacancies to overcome the energy barriers for diffusion. The findings suggest a new mechanism of vacancy healing in 2D materials and broaden the capability of electron beam for defect engineering of 2D materials, a promising way of tuning their properties for engineering applications.  相似文献
