Comprehensive Performance Analysis of ZigBee Technology Based on Real Measurements

Although the ZigBee technology is massively deployed the performance question still remains unanswered. There is a lack of serious performance evaluations and thus this paper provides a comprehensive and unbiased study of the ZigBee PRO technology. An extensive real measurement was conducted to accomplish this task. We found out a big performance gap among ZigBee implementations even though they are compliant with the ZigBee standard. The presented results and analysis could be beneficial for many wireless sensor network developers.     

Chain flexibility versus molecular entanglement response to rubbing deformation in designing poly(oxadiazole-naphthylimide)s as liquid crystal orientation layers

Four poly(oxadiazole-imide)s containing naphthalene rings, with different flexibility and molecular weight, are investigated with respect to their rheological properties to establish the optimal processing conditions from solution phase to film state for liquid crystal orientation purposes. The film uniformity and strength are determined by monitoring the flow behavior and chain entanglements. The solution rheological data are in agreement with film tensile testing, revealing that higher molecular weight favors chain entanglements and implicitly the film mechanical resistance. In order to analyze the suitability of these films as alignment layers their surface is patterned by rubbing with two types of velvet. Liquid crystal alignment of 4′-pentyl-4-biphenylcarbonitrile nematic is tested by polarized light microscopy. The resulting behavior is correlated with the polyimide malleability and characteristics of the textile fibers, namely their polarity, size, and mechanical features. The competitive effects between chain flexibility and entanglements, together with the interactions occurring between the polymer and velvet are analyzed in order to explain the surface regularity, which influences the uniformity of the liquid crystal alignment. The contrast between dark and bright states recorded on the liquid crystal cell indicates that some of these polynaphthalimides are promising candidates for liquid crystal display devices.

3种脂溶性酚类对紫苏籽油的抗氧化作用研究

采用Schaal烘箱法,以过氧化值和α-亚麻酸含量为指标,比较了3种脂溶性酚类及人工合成抗氧化剂对紫苏籽油的抗氧化效果。结果表明,当抗氧化剂添加量为100 mg/kg时,基于过氧化值的抗氧化效果为香芹酚百里香酚、丁香酚BHT、BHA。低添加量抗氧化剂(1~100 mg/kg)紫苏籽油中α-亚麻酸含量均高于不添加抗氧化剂的处理组。香芹酚的最适添加量为5 mg/kg,α-亚麻酸含量为6.399 mg/g,与4℃保存的紫苏籽油含量相近;BHT的最适添加量为50 mg/kg,α-亚麻酸含量为6.987 mg/g,高于4℃保存的紫苏籽油;分别添加100 mg/kg的香芹酚与100 mg/kg的BHT的紫苏籽油中α-亚麻酸含量相近,说明二者抗氧化能力相当。研究结果证实了香芹酚、百里香酚、丁香酚对紫苏籽油具有较好的抗氧化作用,为安全高效的天然酚类抗氧化剂的筛选及其在油脂食品中的应用提供理论参考。

Superior self-paced memorization of digits in spite of a normal digit span: The structure of a memorist’s skill.

Over the last century many individuals with exceptional memory have been studied and tested in the laboratory. This article studies Chao Lu, who set a Guinness World Record by memorizing 67,890 decimals of pi. Chao Lu’s superior self-paced memorization of digits is shown through analyses of study times and verbal reports to be mediated by mnemonic encoding and retrieval processes. Furthermore, Chao Lu’s development of his superior memory for decimals of pi is consistent with his engagement in thousands of hours of memorization. In contrast to most other studied memorists, who have digit spans over 15 digits, Chao Lu exhibited a digit span in only the normal range. 一种宽调节范围的CMOS二级压控振荡器设计

采用数模混合控制负载,引入源极负反馈电阻和交叉耦合结构,设计了一种可以应用于连续频带时钟数据恢复电路的二级环形振荡器(two-stage VCO),设计具有宽工作频率范围、高工作频率、低相位噪声的性能特点.采用TSMC 0.25μm N-阱CMOS工艺参数对所设计的VCO进行了仿真,仿真结果显示在VCO增益(Kvco)保持在300MHz/V左右的情况下,得到了200MHz～1.85GHz的调节范围.     

流变铸造AZ91-Sn合金的组织演化、拉伸行为及磨损性能

研究了不同Sn含量流变铸造AZ91合金的组织演化、拉伸行为及磨损性能。结果表明：Sn的合金化改变了Al在镁基体中的固溶度,并且显著细化了微观组织。加入0.8%（质量分数,下同）的Sn后,合金平均晶粒尺寸从105.0 μm降至42.1 μm。高熔点的金属间化合物为析出相提供了异质形核点,这些弥散析出的第二相在流变凝固过程中有效地细化了镁基体。弥散分布的第二相抑制了枝晶组织生长,从而进一步提升了合金的力学性能。随着Sn含量的增加,合金磨损率显著降低,磨粒磨损逐渐消失。3.0%Sn合金化的流变铸造AZ91合金具有最高的抗拉伸强度以及最好的耐磨损性能。
