Finite depth-of-field poses a problem in light optical imaging systems since the objects present outside the range of depth-of-field appear blurry in the recorded image. Effective depth-of-field of a sensor can be enhanced considerably without compromising the quality of the image by combining multi-focus images of a scene. This paper presents a block-based algorithm for multi-focus image fusion. In general, finding a suitable block-size is a problem in block-based methods. A large block is more likely to contain portions from both focused and defocused regions. This may lead to selection of considerable amount of defocused regions. On the other hand, small blocks do not vary much in relative contrast and hence difficult to choose from. Moreover, small blocks are more affected by mis-registration problems. In this work, we present a block-based algorithm which do not use a fixed block-size and rather makes use of a quad-tree structure to obtain an optimal subdivision of blocks. Though the algorithm starts with blocks, it ultimately identifies sharply focused regions in input images. The algorithm is simple, computationally efficient and gives good results. A new focus-measure called energy of morphologic gradients is introduced and is used in the algorithm. It is comparable with other focus measures viz.energy of gradients, variance, Tenengrad, energy of Laplacian and sum modified Laplacian. The algorithm is robust since it works with any of the above focus measures. It is also robust against pixel mis-registration. Performance of the algorithm has been evaluated by using two different quantitative measures.  相似文献

In this paper, we present general formulae for the mask of (2b + 4)-point n-ary approximating as well as interpolating subdivision schemes for any integers ${b\,\geqslant\,0}$ and ${n\,\geqslant\,2}$ . These formulae corresponding to the mask not only generalize and unify several well-known schemes but also provide the mask of higher arity schemes. Moreover, the 4-point and 6-point a-ary schemes introduced by Lian [Appl Appl Math Int J 3(1):18–29, 2008] are special cases of our general formulae.  相似文献

Abstract. Eliciting information about organizational culture is an important part of system analysis and design. However, eliciting knowledge of this sort is difficult. Laddering is an established technique that is particularly suitable for eliciting information about goals and for eliciting explanations, which are important issues when investigating organizational culture. This paper describes the method, its strengths and limitations, its use in several case studies and its relation to other elicitation techniques. Recommendations for further work are given.  相似文献

For a class of multi‐input and multi‐output nonlinear uncertainty systems, a novel approach to design a nonlinear controller using minimax linear quadratic regulator (LQR) control is proposed. The proposed method combines a feedback linearization method with the robust minimax LQR approach in the presence of time‐varying uncertain parameters. The uncertainties, which are assumed to satisfy a certain integral quadratic constraint condition, do not necessarily satisfy a generalized matching condition. The procedure consists of feedback linearization of the nominal model and linearization of the remaining nonlinear uncertain terms with respect to each individual uncertainty at a local operating point. This two‐stage linearization process, followed by a robust minimax LQR control design, provides a robustly stable closed loop system. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach, an application study is provided for a flight control problem of an air‐breathing hypersonic flight vehicle (AHFV), where the outputs to be controlled are the longitudinal velocity and altitude, and the control variables are the throttle setting and elevator deflection. The proposed method is used to derive a linearized uncertainty model for the longitudinal motion dynamics of the AHFV first, and then a robust minimax LQR controller is designed, which is based on this uncertainty model. The controller is synthesized considering seven uncertain aerodynamic and inertial parameters. The stability and performance of the synthesized controller is evaluated numerically via single scenario simulations for particular cruise conditions as well as a Monte‐Carlo type simulation based on numerous cases. It is observed that the control scheme proposed in this paper performs better, especially from the aspect of robustness to large ranges of uncertainties, than some controller design schemes previously published in the literature. To improve the resource limitation of mobile devices, mobile users may utilize cloud-computational and storage services. Although the utilization of the cloud services improves the processing and storage capacity of mobile devices, the migration of confidential information on untrusted cloud raises security and privacy issues. Considering the security of mobile-cloud-computing subscribers’ information, a mechanism to authenticate legitimate mobile users in the cloud environment is sought. Usually, the mobile users are authenticated in the cloud environment through digital credential methods, such as password. Once the users’ credential information theft occurs, the adversary can use the hacked information for impersonating the mobile user later on. The alarming situation is that the mobile user is unaware about adversary’s malicious activities. In this paper, a light-weight security scheme is proposed for mobile user in cloud environment to protect the mobile user’s identity with dynamic credentials. The proposed scheme offloads the frequently occurring dynamic credential generation operations on a trusted entity to keep minimum processing burden on the mobile device. To enhance the security and reliability of the scheme, the credential information is updated frequently on the basis of mobile-cloud packets exchange. Furthermore, the proposed scheme is compared with the existing scheme on the basis of performance metrics i.e. turnaround time and energy consumption. The experimental results for the proposed scheme showed significant improvement in turnaround time and energy consumption as compared to the existing scheme.  相似文献

A flexible chemistry for solid phase attachment of oligonucleotides is described. Oligonucleotides bearing 5'-terminal acrylamide modifications efficiently co-polymerize with acrylamide monomers to form thermally stable DNA-containing polyacrylamide co-polymers. Co-polymerization attachment is specific for the terminal acrylamide group. Stable probe-containing layers are easily fabricated on supports bearing exposed acrylic groups, including plastic microtiter plates and silanized glass. Attachment can be accomplished using standard polyacrylamide gel recipes and polymerization techniques. Supports having a high surface density of hybridizable oligonucleotide (approximately 200 fmol/mm2) can be produced.  相似文献

One of the techniques of work study is work measurement employed to ensure the best possible use of human in carrying out a specific activity. Using appropriate measurement procedures, a work standard can be set which will reflect the gross time required by a normal operator working under normal conditions and with normal pace to complete a unit of work satisfactorily. One of the approaches in setting the work standard is based on the statistical analysis of time data.
