BMP is one of important factors in the pathophysiology of bone regeneration. Fifteen New Zealand rabbits were used in this experiment. We studied the distribution and effectiveness of endogenic BMP on a 10 mm bone defect of radius, by utilizing immunohistochemistry of BMP and quantitative computer imaging system. On the 3rd day, death of osteocytes and BMP positive blood clot were observed. The mesenchymal cells from periosteum and endoosteum, and osteoblast were also BMP positive. By quantitative study, we found there was a gradient distribution of BMP in bone defect, i.e, the value of BMP decreased gradually along the distance from the fracture ends. The maximal value of BMP was noted at the 1st week postoperation. In conclusion, two sources of endogenic BMP were found, one was from the absorption of necrotic tissue of fracture ends, the other was from the secretion of osteogenic mesenchymal cells during the process of bone regeneration. Nonunion of bone defect was caused in part by the gradient distribution of BMP. Accordingly, the concept of effective quantity of endogenic BMP was drawn rosen. It might be a new method in the treatment of bone defect by increasing the concentration of endogenic BMP and improving its distribution.  相似文献

Antisense oligodeoxynucleotides were used to determine whether alterations in the expression of N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor subunit mRNA are responsible for developmental changes in the sensitivity of receptors to agonists and antagonists. Xenopus laevis oocytes were injected with mRNA prepared from neonatal and adult rat cerebral cortex, and the effects of agonists and antagonists were determined under voltage-clamp conditions. Glycine-site antagonists like 7-chlorokynurenate and glutamate-site antagonists like CGP-39653 were more potent at NMDA receptors expressed from mRNA from adult rat cerebral cortex than those expressed from mRNA from 1-day-old rat. NMDA receptors from 1-day-old rat cerebral cortex were more sensitive to activation by glycine than were receptors from adult rat cerebral cortex. 7-Chlorokynurenate and CGP-39653 were more potent inhibitors of responses seen with heteromeric NR1/NR2A receptors than with NR1/ NR2B receptors. Conversely, heteromeric NR1/NR2B receptors were more sensitive to activation by glycine than were NR1/NR2A receptors. We previously described a delay in the expression of the NR2A subunit in developing rat brain. Anti-sense oligodeoxynucleotides were used to determine whether the delayed expression of the NR2A subunit underlies changes in pharmacological properties observed during development. The properties of receptors seen when adult brain mRNA was coinjected with antisense oligodeoxynucleotides against the NR2A subunit were similar to those found in receptors from 1-day-old rat brain. These data suggest that changes in the sensitivity of NMDA receptors to antagonists and to glycine seen during development are a result of alterations in the expression of different species of NR2 subunit mRNA.  相似文献

We report an 11-year-old boy with active Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection who developed acute aphonia and had signs and symptoms of recurrent laryngeal nerve palsy. The association of isolated recurrent laryngeal nerve palsy and EBV infection has not previously been reported. This case report expands the spectrum of neurologic complications of EBV infection, and suggests that infectious mononucleosis should be considered in the differential diagnosis of acute aphonia in children.  相似文献

Two cases of congenital trabecular hypoplasia of the right ventricle are reported. In the first, the neonatal diagnosis was missed and the child did well until the 13th month of life when a modified Blalock-Taussig shunt was done because of increasing cyanosis. Outcome was good until the 4th year of life when symptomatic atrioventricular block was detected in an emergency situation. A bidirectional Glenn anastomosis and pacemaker implantation were successfully carried out after clinical establization and the child is doing well up to now. The second case presents the disease with its worst features: severe cyanosis and acidosis in the first day of life. A modified Blalock-Taussig shunt was performed and death occurred soon after the operation.  相似文献

This paper develops a theoretical basis for the minimization of chip area required for fixed taper buffer design. It modifies the well-known procedure for minimizing delay time in such circuits to derive a minimum number of required stages. Rather than minimize delay time, the procedure realizes a specified buffer delay time using a stage-area scale factor that minimizes the total area of the buffer. Since an integer number of tapered stages must be used while the calculations lead to noninteger results, the effects of roundoff errors are included  相似文献

For decades, research for developing a totally implantable artificial ventricle has been carried on. For 4 to 5 years, two devices have been investigated clinically. For many years, we have studied a rotary (but not centrifugal) pump that furnishes pulsatile flow without a valve and does not need external venting or a compliance chamber. It is a hypocycloidal pump based on the principle of the Maillard-Wankel rotary compressor. Currently made of titanium, it is activated by an electrical brushless direct-current motor. The motor-pump unit is totally sealed and implantable, without noise or vibration. This pump was implanted as a left ventricular assist device in calves. The midterm experiments showed good hemodynamic function. The hemolysis was low, but serious problems were encountered: blood components collecting on the gear mechanism inside the rotor jammed the pump. We therefore redesigned the pump to seal the gear mechanism. We used a double system to seal the open end of the rotor cavity with components polished to superfine optical quality. In addition, we developed a control system based on the study of the predicted shape of the motor current. The new design is now underway. We hope to start chronic experiments again in a few months. If the problem of sealing the bearing could be solved, the Cora ventricle could be used as permanent totally implantable left ventricular assist device.  相似文献

The plug loading effect occurring during the etchback of tungsten was investigated in a magnetically enhanced reactive ion etcher using SF 6/Ar mixtures. It was found that while the plug loading effect is independent of varying SF6/Ar flow rate ratio and magnetic field intensity, it is reduced under the condition of high selectivity of tungsten relative to TiN which was achieved at high chamber pressure and low RF power. It is proposed that when TiN is used as a glue layer, the W etch rate enhancement in the plug is mainly controlled by a local loading effect. Under the optimized etchback conditions the plug loss was successfully controlled without the tungsten residue left on severe topology  相似文献

The GILDES computer model, incorporating Stumm's concept of proton- and ligand-promoted dissolution, has been used to simulate the exposure of copper at room temperature to 210 ppb sulfur dioxide and 80% relative humidity. The agreement is good between the calculations and laboratory exposures performed under these exposure conditions. Surface reactions are relatively more important at lower relative humidities and the dominant corrosion products formed are solid state Cu2SO3, CuSO3 and Cu2U. Free-radical redox processes are important participants and control the relative distribution of Cu(I)- and Cu(H)-containing corrosion products.  相似文献
