Multicell converters: basic concepts and industry applications   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Multicell power converters were introduced ten years ago. This paper summarizes the main results obtained through the research done on these converters over this period: topology and derivation of multicell choppers and voltage-source inverters; harmonics cancellation; open-loop modulation techniques; self-balancing understanding; and optimization. During this same period, industrial products using this technique have been developed and the corresponding know-how has contributed to the field in various ways, such as modular design, low inductance busbars, specific drivers, etc.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: Enlargement of the epicardial coronary arteries occurs in left ventricular (LV) hypertrophy as an adaptation to the increased coronary blood flow. METHODS AND RESULTS: Vasodilator capacity of the epicardial coronary arteries was determined in 44 patients. The dose-response relation of intracoronary nitroglycerin was assessed in 14 patients (7 control subjects and 7 patients with aortic stenosis [study A]) using quantitative coronary angiography. In a second study (B), vasodilator capacity of the epicardial coronary arteries was determined in 15 control subjects and 15 patients with valvular heart disease. In study A, a curvilinear dose-response relation with maximal vasodilation after 90 micrograms intracoronary nitroglycerin was found in both control subjects and patients with aortic stenosis. Vasodilator capacity was reduced in those with aortic stenosis, although sensitivity to nitroglycerin was similar in both groups. In study B, coronary circumferential length at baseline was larger in those with LV hypertrophy (12.2 +/- 2.2 mm) than in control subjects (8.6 +/- 1.5 mm; P < .001); after 100 micrograms intracoronary nitroglycerin, it increased to 12.9 +/- 2.2 mm (6 +/- 5%) in those with LV hypertrophy and to 10.3 +/- 1.5 mm (21 +/- 8%; P < .001) in control subjects. An inverse relation between baseline circumferential length and its percent increase after nitroglycerin was found (r = -.71, P < .001). CONCLUSIONS: Vasodilator capacity of the epicardial coronary arteries is reduced in patients with LV hypertrophy, although sensitivity to nitroglycerin is normal. This may be due to a flow-mediated decrease in coronary vasomotor tone and/or the occurrence of vascular remodeling with an enlargement of the coronary arteries.  相似文献

Long COVID (LC) describes the clinical phenotype of symptoms after infection with the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). Diagnostic and therapeutic options are limited, as the pathomechanism of LC is elusive. As the number of acute SARS-CoV-2 infections was and is large, LC will be a challenge for the healthcare system. Previous studies revealed an impaired blood flow, the formation of microclots, and autoimmune mechanisms as potential factors in this complex interplay. Since functionally active autoantibodies against G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCR-AAbs) were observed in patients after SARS-CoV-2 infection, this study aimed to correlate the appearance of GPCR-AAbs with capillary microcirculation. The seropositivity of GPCR-AAbs was measured by an established cardiomyocyte bioassay in 42 patients with LC and 6 controls. Retinal microcirculation was measured by OCT–angiography and quantified as macula and peripapillary vessel density (VD) by the Erlangen-Angio Tool. A statistical analysis yielded impaired VD in patients with LC compared to the controls, which was accentuated in female persons. A significant decrease in macula and peripapillary VD for AAbs targeting adrenergic β2-receptor, MAS-receptor angiotensin-II-type-1 receptor, and adrenergic α1-receptor were observed. The present study might suggest that a seropositivity of GPCR-AAbs can be linked to an impaired retinal capillary microcirculation, potentially mirroring the systemic microcirculation with consecutive clinical symptoms.  相似文献

The mouse has become an important animal model for human cardiac disease, and the development of techniques for non-invasive imaging of the mouse heart in vivo is, therefore, of great potential interest. Previous magnetic resonance imaging studies have concentrated on pathologically induced changes in cardiac structure and dynamics by acquiring proton images. Further information can be gained by studying cardiac function and physiology using other nuclei, for example, sodium. Sodium imaging of such a small structure presents considerable technical challenges. In this work we show the first sodium images of the mouse heart, with an isotropic spatial resolution of 1 × 1 × 1 mm, acquired in a time of 1.5 h. The ventricles, septum and myocardium are readily distinguishable in these images, which were acquired through the combination of 3D density-weighted chemical shift imaging, optimized instrumentation, and a high magnetic field strength (17.6 T). Measurements of the myocardial:blood sodium concentration in the left and right ventricles agree well with theoretical values.  相似文献

Path tracing is now the standard method used to generate realistic imagery in many domains, e.g., film, special effects, architecture etc. Path guiding has recently emerged as a powerful strategy to counter the notoriously long computation times required to render such images. We present a practical path guiding algorithm that performs product sampling, i.e., samples proportional to the product of the bidirectional scattering distribution function (BSDF) and incoming radiance. We use a spatial-directional subdivision to represent incoming radiance, and introduce the use of Linearly Transformed Cosines (LTCs) to represent the BSDF during path guiding, thus enabling efficient product sampling. Despite the computational efficiency of LTCs, several optimizations are needed to make our method cost effective. In particular, we show how we can use vectorization, precomputation, as well as strategies to optimize multiple importance sampling and Russian roulette to improve performance. We evaluate our method on several scenes, demonstrating consistent improvement in efficiency compared to previous work, especially in scenes with significant glossy inter-reflection.  相似文献

“Communicating particles” are reported that combine an identification (ID) taggant and a temperature recorder in one single entity—a micron-scaled supraparticle. The optical information carriers within the hybrid inorganic-organic supraparticles are three different types of luminescent nanoparticles, which can be read-out using single-wavelength excitation. These three nanoparticle types are assembled into a core-satellite structure via a two-step droplet evaporation technique. The core is built-up from Tb3+ and Eu3+-doped nanophosphors, providing an environmentally stable ID that is easily tunable through ratiometric spectral coding. This core is surrounded by organic, dye-doped polymer nanoparticle satellites, acting as thermal-history-recorders of their environment. Exposed to a threshold temperature, the luminescence of the utilized 7-diethylamino-4-methylcoumarin-doped polymer nanoparticles is irreversibly quenched. This “turn-off ” signal response is attributed to conformational changes in the dyes’ excited state and an alteration of their molecular environment, respectively, triggered by the polymer nanoparticles’ glass transition. Thus, the sensitivity of the temperature recorder can be configured over a wide temperature range by varying the dye-hosting polymer. At the same time, the ID of the particle, stemming from its inorganic building blocks, stays unaffected, thus stable against thermal changes. The idea of communicating particles introduces a promising concept for smart additives.  相似文献

The impressive mechanical properties of natural composites, such as nacre, arise from their multiscale hierarchical structures, which span from nano‐ to macroscale and lead to effective energy dissipation. While some synthetic bioinspired materials have achieved the toughness of natural nacre, current production methods are complex and typically involve toxic chemicals, extreme temperatures, and/or high pressures. Here, the exclusive use of bacteria to produce nacre‐inspired layered calcium carbonate‐polyglutamate composite materials that reach and exceed the toughness of natural nacre, while additionally exhibiting high extensibility and maintaining high stiffness, is introduced. The extensive diversity of bacterial metabolic abilities and the possibility of genetic engineering allows for the creation of a library of bacterially produced, cost‐effective, and eco‐friendly composite materials.  相似文献

A promising approach for chemical energy storage from fluctuating renewable electricity is methanol synthesis from CO2 and hydrogen in a slurry reactor concept, due to efficient heat storage and easy reactor control. In combination with a promising In2O3/ZrO2 catalyst and mineral oil as carrier liquid, efficient methanol production under a wide range of changing process conditions is shown for the first time. A maximum methanol productivity of 2.1 gMeOHgIn−1h−1 and multiple recycling stability of the catalyst and the carrier liquid was achieved, showing no significant decrease in methanol yields.  相似文献

In what approximated a controlled clinical trial for efficacy of seatbelts, the Colorado matched pairs study examined 256 crashes meeting the following criteria: driver plus front-seat passenger, one belted (SB) and one nonbelted (NSB) occupant, and at least one occupant injured. Nearly half (119 of 256) of the SB partners escaped injury, while only 16% (41 of 256) of the NSB group were as fortunate. To ascertain a differential effect the 160 pairs discordant for injury were analyzed. The relative odds for injury in the SB group was 0.34 (95% Cl: 0.24, 0.49) of that in the NSB group. Likewise, relative odds for any medical costs in the SB group was reduced to 0.24 (95% Cl: 0.14, 0.43) and for hospitalization to 0.29 (95% Cl: 0.10, 0.80). Sixty-five percent of the SB group had no medical costs in contrast to only 29% of the NSB group. Altogether the NSB group accounted for 76% of the medical costs and 72% of the hospitalizations. This study establishes the effectiveness of seatbelts in reducing nonfatal injuries using epidemiologic, financial, and medical data.  相似文献
