The ingestion of egg has been reported to lower blood cholesterol, but the mechanism is unclear. Here, the biochemical metabolic mechanism by which the oral administration of egg yolk affects blood lipid reduction was investigated using normal rats. Blood triglycerides and total cholesterol were lower and high‐density lipoprotein cholesterol was higher in an egg yolk‐given group compared to other groups, while low‐density lipoprotein cholesterol was increased in the pork belly oil‐given group. HMG‐CoA reductase activity was higher in the pork belly oil‐given group, compared to an egg yolk‐given group, a weekly alternating administration of pork belly oil and egg yolk‐given group, and the saline‐given normal control group. However, faecal excretions of total sterol, neutral sterol and acid sterol in an egg yolk‐given group were higher compared to the pork belly oil‐given group, a weekly alternating administration of pork belly oil and egg yolk‐given group, and a normal control group. The results suggested that ingestion of egg decreased blood lipids. 相似文献

A facile and rapid method for the synthesis of porous gold (PAu) electrodes on cellulose-filters is proposed. Morphology and active surface area of the electrode greatly influence the electrochemical properties of sensor. Compared to smooth electrode and glassy carbon, PAu and Pt/PAu electrode showed high roughness due to porous structure, which is helpful in electrochemical sensing of target molecules. The electrochemical sensing performance of Pt/PAu electrode was evaluated to detect hydrogen peroxide, glucose, and perchloric acid. The amperometric results with various concentrations of target molecules showed potential applications of Pt/PAu electrode in sensitive and effective chemical sensors. 相似文献

Caenorhabditis elegans is an accepted model host to study host-bacteria interactions in the gut, in addition to being a simple model with which to study conserved aspects of biological signaling pathways in intestinal environments, because these nematode worms have similar intestinal cells to those of humans. Here, we used C. elegans to develop a new in vivo screening system for potential probiotic lactic acid bacteria (LAB). Initially, critical colonization ability of LAB strains isolated from Korean infant feces was screened in the worm intestinal tract over a period of 5 d. Furthermore, we investigated host health-promoting activities, including longevity-extending effects and immune-enhancing activities against foodborne pathogen infection. We identified 4 LAB strains that were highly persistent in the nematode gut and that significantly prolonged the longevity of C. elegans and improved the survival of C. elegans in response to infection by Staphylococcus aureus. The 4 LAB strains we identified showed resistance to acid and bile conditions, assimilated cholesterol, and were able to attach to a mucus layer. The 4 LAB isolates were identified as Lactobacillus plantarum using 16S rRNA sequencing analysis. Taken together, we developed a direct in vivo screening system using C. elegans to study host health-promoting LAB. Our system is simple, rapid, cost-effective, and reliable, and we anticipate that this system will result in the discovery of many more potential probiotic bacteria for dairy foods. 相似文献

In this paper, we propose a superjunction trench gate MOSFET (SJ TGMOSFET) fabricated through a simple p pillar forming process using deep trench and boron silicate glass doping process technology to reduce the process complexity. Throughout the various boron doping experiments, as well as the process simulations, we optimize the process conditions related with the p pillar depth, lateral boron doping concentration, and diffusion temperature. Compared with a conventional TGMOSFET, the potential of the SJ TGMOSFET is more uniformly distributed and widely spread in the bulk region of the n drift layer due to the trenched p‐pillar. The measured breakdown voltage of the SJ TGMOSFET is at least 28% more than that of a conventional device. 相似文献

Oligosaccharides in four different brands of beer (Cass, Hite, Budweiser, Miller) were systematically analysed with three different dihydroxybenzoic acid (DHB) isomer matrices (2,4-DHB, 2,5-DHB, and 2,6-DHB) using matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionisation time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF-MS). Different experimental conditions, such as dilution (up to 1000-fold) and cationisation agents (sodium chloride or sodium trifluoroacetate) were analysed. No ionised peaks of oligosaccharides were observed with 2,4-DHB matrix. 2,6-DHB was more effective than 2,5-DHB in most of the investigated concentration ranges. 2,6-DHB with 4-fold dilution was the most effective. In certain cases, a cationisation agent was necessary to detect the signals of the oligosaccharides, and sodium chloride provided greater ionisation than sodium trifluoroacetate. 相似文献

The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of sowthistle (Ixeris dentata, IXD) on development and expression of nicotine-induced locomotor sensitization and underlying neuronal activation reflected by c-Fos expression in rats. Rats were pretreated with IXD 30 min before a daily injection of nicotine during an 8-day development phase and then challenged with nicotine after a 6-day withdrawal period. In another set of experiments, same IXD doses were administered once 30 min before nicotine challenge. Daily IXD treatment during development phase was not effective in blocking nicotine-induced locomotor sensitization in rats. However, a single IXD treatment after the development and withdrawal periods of nicotine sensitization significantly alleviated sensitized locomotor behavior on day 15. These behavioral results were coincident with significant inhibition of nicotineinduced c-Fos expression in the nucleus accumbens. These results indicated that IXD pretreatment significantly blocked the expression, but not the development of nicotine-induced locomotor sensitization in rats. 相似文献

The thermal stability of skutterudite-based thermoelectric modules is of great importance since they are used at elevated temperatures. This study examined the high-temperature stability of In-filled and Fe-doped skutterudites (In0.25Co3FeSb12) as a function of the following aging variables: atmosphere (vacuum and air), temperature, and time. Sb-based oxides are produced preferentially on exposure to high temperatures in air. The oxide layer produced during aging at 823?K in air was much thinner than that produced during aging at 723?K in air. The formation of InSb is believed to retard the oxidation of Sb and act as an obstacle to the growth of the oxide layer. The CoSb3-based skutterudites were stable at 823?K if they were not exposed to air, and InSb phases were not produced in the In0.25Co3FeSb12 skutterudites. 相似文献

Geocasting-based synchronization of Almanac on the maritime cloud for distributed smart surveillance
A number of recent maritime accidents strongly imply the need of distributed smart surveillance. The maritime cloud, proposed as communications infrastructure of e-Navigation, is one of the most optimal infrastructure systems in the smart surveillance environment. To maintain the safe maritime environment, security in the distributed smart surveillance environment is critical, but research on security of the maritime cloud, which will be adopted as major communications infrastructure in the smart surveillance system, is still in the fledging stage. In this regard, this paper suggested a safe synchronization method of Almanac, which is necessary to provide unimpeded maritime cloud service. Almanac plays a role of a telephone directory and it should be shared in the latest version in communicating between vessels or a vessel and land. In other words, synchronization of Almanac between offshore and vessels is required to safely deliver major video information collected by the distributed smart camera. The method proposed in this paper enables geocasting based synchronization between vessels, which is suitable for maritime conditions, and does not expose information in the course of synchronization even in the case of broadcasting through an unsafe channel. In addition, the method ensures integrity based on block ID and supports delta update, thereby minimizing bandwidth and boosting performance. 相似文献
