Zero-crossings of a wavelet transform   总被引:19,自引:0,他引:19  
The completeness, stability, and application to pattern recognition of a multiscale representation based on zero-crossings is discussed. An alternative projection algorithm is described that reconstructs a signal from a zero-crossing representation, which is stabilized by keeping the value of the wavelet transform integral between each pair of consecutive zero-crossings. The reconstruction algorithm has a fast convergence and each iteration requires O( N log2 (N)) computation for a signal of N samples. The zero-crossings of a wavelet transform define a representation which is particularly well adapted for solving pattern recognition problems. Pseudotumor cerebri is a syndrome characterized by intracranial hypertension (intracranial pressure >200 mmH2O) and a normal ventricular system. The diagnosis should be made as early as possible to prevent impairment of vision. Several diseases have been reported in association with pseudotumor cerebri in pediatric patients, and have been occasionally also noted with chronic renal failure, heart and renal transplantation. We report a 7-year-old boy who complained of severe headaches and visual impairment 2 years after hemodialysis for renal hypoplasia. Pseudotumor cerebri was suspected and, despite treatment with corticosteroids, acetazolamide, and lumboperitoneal diversion, visual impairment worsened. Bilateral optic nerve sheath decompression (ONSD) was performed without success and the child completely lost his vision within 2 weeks. He was successfully transplanted 2 months later. Two years post transplantation, the blind child has a normal renal function and school performance. Pseudotumor cerebri must be rapidly suspected in a child with renal failure suffering from headaches and papilledema. Visual loss may progress rapidly and ONSD seems to be the best surgical treatment when medical treatment fails. In this patient renal transplantation was well tolerated, with no deterioration in the neurological status over 2 years of follow-up.  相似文献

Epoxidation of 2-cyclohexen-1-ol with TBHP and TiO2–SiO2, Fe2O3–SiO2 and SiO2 aerogels has been studied. The influence of surface silanol groups and transition metal impurities in titania–silica on the product distribution has been analyzed. The results, supported by literature data, indicate that high surface area silica cannot generally be regarded as an inert matrix in epoxidation catalysts. Contribution of Ti-free silica limits the selectivity of Ti- and Si-containing catalysts in demanding epoxidation reactions. The activity of silica – together with the background oxidation of the olefin – may lead to overestimated intrinsic activities when the reaction rate is related to the Ti content of the catalyst.  相似文献

Heterogeneous catalytic epoxidation of functionalized olefins in the liquid phase has been reviewed, focusing on catalyst performance and its interrelation with the crucial parameters of the catalytic systems. Efficient catalysts include supported and mixed oxides, framework-substituted (“redox”) molecular sieves, layered-type materials, heterogenized homogeneous catalysts, and some others. Among the various substrates, allylic and homoallylic alcohols, and unsaturated carbonyl compounds have received most attention so far. The great variety of available catalysts enables selective epoxidation of most substituted olefins. The mechanistic understanding of heterogeneous catalytic epoxidation is still underdeveloped, rendering catalyst design rather empirical. A considerable potential for future development lies in the area of “heterogenization” of successful homogeneous catalysts especially for asymmetric epoxidation. Crucial requirements in the development of heterogeneous catalytic epoxidation catalysts are, besides good catalytic performance and cheap oxidant, recyclability and resistance to leaching of the active component. Some of the examples shown in the literature do not fulfill the latter requirement.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: Head-up tilt testing is a useful test for investigating vasovagal syncope. The determination of early, accurate, predictive criteria for a negative result would permit a reduction in the duration of the tilt test. METHODS AND RESULTS: Patients with no drug use and no illnesses other than recurrent unexplained syncope were recruited. In an initial study (110 consecutive patients), we aimed to determine a predictive criterion based on heart rate variations during the first minutes of upright tilting that could distinguish between patients with positive and negative tilt tests (patients with an early continual decrease in heart rate or blood pressure were excluded). Then we tested the predictive value of the established criterion in a second independent sample of patients with unexplained syncope (109 consecutive patients). An early sustained increase in heart rate < or = 18 bpm during the first 6 minutes of upright tilting at a 60 degree angle allowed us to predict negative tilt tests with 100% specificity, 100% positive predictive value, and 88.6% sensitivity. This criterion was validated in the second, prospective arm of the study (96.4% specificity, 98.4% positive predictive value, and 87.3% sensitivity), even with subsequent use of isoproterenol in low doses. CONCLUSIONS: In patients with no drug use and no illnesses other than recurrent unexplained syncope, a simple clinical criterion identifies patients who will not develop syncope during a prolonged upright tilt.  相似文献

Multiresolution representations are effective for analyzing the information content of images. The properties of the operator which approximates a signal at a given resolution were studied. It is shown that the difference of information between the approximation of a signal at the resolutions 2j+1 and 2j (where j is an integer) can be extracted by decomposing this signal on a wavelet orthonormal basis of L2(Rn), the vector space of measurable, square-integrable n-dimensional functions. In L2(R), a wavelet orthonormal basis is a family of functions which is built by dilating and translating a unique function ψ(x). This decomposition defines an orthogonal multiresolution representation called a wavelet representation. It is computed with a pyramidal algorithm based on convolutions with quadrature mirror filters. Wavelet representation lies between the spatial and Fourier domains. For images, the wavelet representation differentiates several spatial orientations. The application of this representation to data compression in image coding, texture discrimination and fractal analysis is discussed  相似文献

The antifungal drug terbinafine has infrequently been incriminated in the occurrence of acute liver injury. We report a case of prolonged cholestasis that occurred in a 75-year-old woman, following terbinafine administration. Jaundice followed by pruritus appeared after four weeks of therapy and was associated with mixed hepatocellular and cholestatic liver tests abnormalities. Following drug withdrawal, serum bilirubin returned to normal values within three months, but anicteric cholestasis persisted for over six months. A liver biopsy performed after six months showed centrilobular cholestasis, discrete portal fibrosis, and a reduction in the number of interlobular biliary ducts. Terbinafine should be added to the list of drugs that can cause reduction in interlobular bile ducts.  相似文献

A chiral alkanoic acid was prepared with up to 52% excess of the (S) enantiomer by hydrogenating an,-unsaturated carboxylic acid with a cinchonidine-Pd/Al2O3 catalyst system. Favourable conditions are: high surface hydrogen concentration ( 60 bar hydrogen pressure, low catalyst concentration and apolar solvents), near ambient temperature and a cinchonidine/reactantmolar ratio of at least 0.4 mol%. It is proposed that high hydrogen solubility and the presence of 2-methyl-2-pentenoic acid reactant as dimers are advantageous for enantiodifferentiation.  相似文献
