Central NO is involved in the antinociceptive action of intracisternal antidepressants in freely moving rats

The present study was performed to examine the central effects of antidepressants on nociceptive jaw opening reflex after intracisternal injection. we also investigated the mechanisms of central antinociceptive action of intracisternal antidepressants. We recorded the jaw opening reflex in freely moving rats and chose to administer antidepressants intracisternally in order to eliminate the effects of anesthetic agents on the pain assessment and evaluate the importance of the spinal site of action of antidepressants. After intracisternal injection of 15 microg imipramine, digastric electromyogram (dEMG) was decreased to 76+/-6% of the control. Intracisternal administration of 30 microg desipramine, nortriptyline or imipramine suppressed dEMG remarkably to 48+/-2, 27+/-8, or 25+/-5% of the control, respectively. The suppression of dEMG was maintained for 50 min. L-NG-Nitroarginine methyl ester (NAME) blocked the suppression of dEMG from 32+/-2 to 81+/-5% of the control. These results indicate that antidepressants produce antinociception through central mechanisms in the orofacial area. The central NO pathway seems to be involved in the antinociception of intracisternal antidepressants at supraspinal sites.     

Thermodynamic assessment of the Al deoxidation reaction in liquid iron

The deoxidation reaction of aluminum in liquid iron has been investigated thermodynamically using Al₂O₃ crucible at 1873 K under Ar atmosphere as a fundamental study for the accurate control of inclusions in the ladle refining process. In addition to the equilibrium constant log K_A1 for the aluminum deoxidation reaction, the first-order and second-order interaction parameters between aluminum and oxygen were experimentally determined in the concentration range of aluminum up to 1 %. The temperature dependence of the equilibrium constant and the first-order interaction parameter e^A1 was also obtained: log K_A1 = 12.32 - 47400/T, e^A1 = 15.57 - 36500/T. The equilibrium relation between aluminum and oxygen contents in the aluminum deoxidized iron by applying interaction parameters and the equilibrium constant determined in this work satisfies fairly well the equilibrium data over the whole concentration range of aluminum considered.     

动态力学及介电法研究蓖麻油丙烯酸酯共聚网络悬挂链的弛豫运动

用动态力学（内耗）和介电方法研究了由蓖麻油（ｃａｓｔｏｒｏｉｌ）、甲苯二异氰酸酯（ＴＤＩ）、丙烯酸羟乙酯（ＨＥＭＡ）组成的网络（Ａｉ）和由正己醇取代Ａ网络中部分ＨＥＭＡ组成的网络Ｂｉ（ｉ＝０，１，２，３）两种网络的内耗及介电损耗，内耗峰强度随悬挂链数目增加而升高，证实了网络破坏后形成的悬挂链的运动对内耗及介电损耗峰高有明显的贡献。     

热宽带钢连轧机调宽轧制工艺参数研究

模拟宝钢２０５０ｍｍ热带钢连轧粗轧机组调宽轧制工艺，得到不同铸坯宽度压下效率、立辊轧制狗骨高度和宽度以及平轧轧制时宽展量等的变化规律。为制定合理的调宽轧制压下规程，Ｒ４机架轧后板坯实现最小切头、切尾损失，最大程度实现连铸坯宽度尺寸集约化提供了可靠的依据。     

Vertical bridgman techniques to homogenize zinc composition of CdZnTe substrates

In order to improve the Zn homogeneity along the axial direction of CdZnTe boule, we have employed a modified Bridgman technique using a (Cd, Zn) alloy source in communication with the melt, whose temperature has been gradually changed from 800 to 840°C during growth. Electron probe microanalysis (EPMA) measurements of Zn composition in the boule shows an excellent homogeneity of Zn along the axis of the CdZnTe boule compared with results in a boule grown by using a fixed source temperature. We have performed a numerical simulation to obtain the approximate temperatures of additional heating and cooling needed to improve the radial Zn homogeneity. CdZnTe boule has been grown by seeded vertical Bridgman furnace with two zones of heater and cooler. Ultraviolet/visible spectroscopic measurements of Zn composition over the length of the boule indicate that the radial distribution of Zn composition is very homogeneous in the body region of the boule, where the radial variation of Zn composition is ±0.0005.     

Effects of NAD or NADP on the stability of liver and pectoral muscle enzymes in 3-acetylpyridine treated quail by heat and trypsin

(1) The effects of long term treatment with 3-acetylpyridine on the stability of enzymes towards heat and trypsin treatment were studied. (2) In the liver NAD or NADP provided a similar degree of protection against heat inactivation at 55 degrees C for 6-phosphogluconate dehydrogenase (24%), glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (24%) and malic enzyme (20%), low level of protection of lactate dehydrogenase (13%) but didn't affect acetylcholinesterase at all. In the muscle, however, there was substantial protection against heat inactivation by coenzyme of glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (52%), an intermediate level of protection of lactate dehydrogenase (25%), low level of protection of 6-phosphogluconate dehydrogenase (17%) and malic enzyme (17%) and almost no protection of acetylcholinesterase. (3) In the susceptibility towards trypsin a low but similar degree of protection for dehydrogenases by coenzymes was observed in the liver whereas in the muscle there was substantial protection against trypsin inactivation by NAD of glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase, an intermediate level of protection of 6-phosphogluconate dehydrogenase and malic enzyme and very little protection of lactate dehydrogenase but no protection of acetylcholinesterase. Among enzymes tested, glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase showed the greatest protection against heat and trypsin inactivation by NAD. (4) The results suggest that the effect of 3-acetylpyridine treatment on the stability of muscle glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase appears to be quite specific and selective.     

Design of a performance enhanced traceback algorithm for theViterbi decoder

The authors propose an efficient traceback scheme for the parallel hardware implementation of the Viterbi algorithm. Compared to the conventional Viterbi algorithm, where output is selected arbitrarily when multiple survivor paths exist, the proposed algorithm decides decoding output by analysing the survivor paths of consecutive tracebacks. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm exhibits improved error-correction capability compared to the existing algorithms
