We report on laser operation in a (6 at. % Tm, 5 at. % Yb):KLu(WO4)2 codoped crystal. The vibrational frequencies of KLu(WO4)2 are coupled to the electronic transitions of Tm3+ at 1946 nm, creating virtual final laser levels at higher energy than the ground level 3H6 of Tm3+. The longest recorded laser wavelength was 2039 nm, which is longer than permitted by a pure electronic transition in Tm3+ ions in KLu(WO4)2. We show that every laser wavelength can be explained with the electron-phonon coupling effect, where the vibration frequencies were determined through Raman spectroscopy. 相似文献

This paper analyses the effect of job accessibility on job‐education mismatch in the metropolitan area of Barcelona with regard to both public and private transport. Transit accessibility is defined in terms of the spatial distribution of employment relative to travel time by public transport, whereas accessibility by private transport is approximated by car availability. The results obtained from a joint model for car ownership, employment selectivity and mismatch confirm that car availability matters for job‐education mismatch. Moreover, public transport connectivity to job locations favours the matching between schooling and occupation in the urban labour market. 相似文献

Information about behavior of energy intake in ultra-endurance cyclists during a 24-hour team relay race is scarce. NaCl is an important multifunctional ingredient applied in dry-cured ham elaboration. However, its excessive intake has been linked to serious cardiovascular diseases causing a recent increase in the development of reduced salt products. In the present study Listeria monocytogenes and Salmonella, food-borne pathogens which can cross-contaminate post processed products, were spiked with < 100 CFU/g on slices of both standard (S) and NaCl-free processed (F) (elaborated with KCl + potassium lactate instead of NaCl) smoked dry-cured ham. Although L. monocytogenes and Salmonella counts decreased faster in S ham, pathogens were present in both types of non-pressure treated ham during the entire refrigerated storage period (112 days). Pressurisation at 600 MPa for 5 min caused the elimination of both pathogens in S ham after 14 days. In contrast, Salmonella and L. monocytogenes were present in F ham until days 28 and 56, respectively, indicating that the NaCl-free processed dry-cured ham had lower stability than standard smoked dry-cured ham. 相似文献

The antimicrobial effect against L. monocytogenes of biodegradable films (alginate, zein and polyvinyl alcohol) containing enterocins was investigated. Survival of the pathogen was studied by means of challenge tests performed at 6 degrees C during 8 and 29 days, for air-packed and vacuum-packed sliced cooked ham, respectively. Air packaging was tested with two concentrations of enterocins (200 and 2000 AU/cm2). Control air-packed cooked ham showed an increase of L. monocytogenes from 10(4) to 10(7) CFU/g after 8 days. By contrast, packaging with antimicrobial films effectively slowed down the pathogen's growth, leading to final counts lower than in control lots. Air-packaging with alginate films containing 2000 AU/cm2 of enterocins effectively controlled L. monocytogenes for 8 days. An increase of only 1 log unit was observed in zein and polyvinyl alcohol lots at the same enterocin concentration. Vacuum packaging with films containing enterocins (2000 AU/cm2) also delayed the growth of the pathogen. No increase from inoculated levels was observed during 15 days in antimicrobial alginate films. After 29 days of storage, the lowest counts were obtained in samples packed with zein and alginate films containing enterocins, as well as with zein control films. The most effective treatment for controlling L. monocytogenes during 6 degrees C storage was vacuum-packaging of sliced cooked ham with alginate films containing 2000 AU/cm2 of enterocins. From the results obtained it can concluded that antimicrobial packaging can improve the safety of sliced cooked ham by delaying and reducing the growth of L. monocytogenes. 相似文献

The fundamental optical properties of pure nickel nanostructures are studied by far‐field extinction spectroscopy and optical near‐field microscopy, providing direct experimental evidence of the existence of particle plasmon resonances predicted by theory. Experimental and calculated near‐field maps allow for unambiguous identification of dipolar plasmon modes. By comparing calculated near‐field and far‐field spectra, dramatic shifts are found between the near‐field and far‐field plasmon resonances, which are much stronger than in gold nanoantennas. Based on a simple damped harmonic oscillator model to describe plasmonic resonances, it is possible to explain these shifts as due to plasmon damping. 相似文献

This paper discusses the importance of flavour profiling in detecting indicative parameters for quality control of fresh and heated honey. Flavour compounds of six unifloral honeys (Lavandula stoechas, Castanea sativa, Dorycnium pentaphyllum, Rosmarinus officinalis, Eucalyptus sp and Robinia pseudoacacia) were investigated. The aroma extracts were obtained by a two‐step procedure involving (i) preliminary steam distillation under reduced pressure to evaluate the methylpyrazines generated in heated honeys by spectrophotometry (flavour index) and (ii) Likens–Nickerson's simultaneous steam distillation and solvent extraction (SDE) method with added NaCl. A combined total of 64 compounds were detected by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS), 58 of which were identified. Some compounds appeared to be characteristic of the floral source, particularly in Spanish lavender (methylated aliphatic acids and aromatic esters), eucalyptus (2,3‐pentanedione, acetoin, 1‐hexyl alcohol, 2‐acetyl‐5‐methylfuran, furfuryl propionate, 2‐phenylacetaldehyde and nerolidol), chestnut (acetophenone and 2‐aminoacetophenone), rosemary and D pentaphyllum (aromatic acids and esters, 2‐phenylacetaldehyde, farnesol and thymol) honeys. Robinia honey samples were characterised by very low levels of aromatic compounds. Twenty‐six flavour compounds were statistically closely related to the floral origin of the honeys (P ≤ 0.05). The flavour index was evaluated progressively in heated honeys, whereas in fresh honeys it showed a minimal value. © 2003 Society of Chemical Industry 相似文献

Analysis of the dynamic features of diffusion gradients in thin film devices (DGT) indicates that the penetration of complexes into the resin layer dramatically increases their lability. This should be taken into account when interpreting DGT measurements in terms of the dynamics of solution speciation. The experimental accumulation of Cd by DGT sensors in Cd-NTA systems confirmed these theoretical analyses. A computational code, which allows a rigorous digital simulation of the diffusion-reaction processes in the gel and resin layers, was used to model the results and to demonstrate the effect of the complex penetration into the resin layer on the lability degree. These findings suggest that DGT renders all complexes much more labile than if the resin-diffusive gel interface was considered as a perfect planar sink, explaining why DGT often measures a high proportion of the metal in a natural water. This information is relevant since some studies have stressed the importance of labile complexes as a source of bioaccumulated metal. 相似文献
