Recently, the demand of the information storage devices with large storage capacity such as Blu-ray Disc and high-definition television is increased. In keeping with this trend, the optical storage devices are also required to have high data transfer rate and large storage capacity. To satisfy these requirements, the actuator for optical disc drive should have a high servo bandwidth to compensate the vibration of optical disc. The servo bandwidth is limited by some flexible modes of the actuator, thus it is essential to make these frequencies of flexible modes to high frequency region. The frequency of flexible mode depends on materials and shape. Stiff materials and simple shape is useful to increase the frequency of flexible mode. In this paper, we suggested a moving magnet type actuator having flexible modes which are happened at high frequency region. Generally, the moving magnet type actuator has an advantage to increase the frequency of flexible mode because the moving magnet type actuator has simple structure and the Young’s modulus of magnet is high. However, large moving mass and inefficiency of Electromagnetic (EM) circuit cut down driving sensitivities of actuator. To improve driving sensitivities, we designed the model with the closed EM circuit for tracking actuation. The design of experiments (DOE) procedure is applied to get proper design parameters and the variable metric method (VMM) which is a technique of optimization is used to improve driving sensitivity. The lens holder is also improved based on the optimization result of EM circuit. And to make up for the low efficiency of EM circuit, the thermal stability is checked on condition that the input current is very high. At last, the final design of moving magnet type actuator is suggested and it is verified that the driving performance and the structural stiffness of the final design is sufficient. 相似文献

Microactuators for micromirror system have found many applications in various areas including projection displays, optical switches, RF switches and so on. In this paper we demonstrated micromirror actuator using ionic polymer metal composites (IPMC) that is a suitable candidate, since it has many attractive qualities such as durability, aquatic, miniature and light-weighted. Specially, IPMC has extraordinary advantages which are simple bending motion for low driving voltage (1–2 V), low power consumption, and simple structure. The IPMC actuator is made of Nafion NE-1110 (Dupont Co, Ltd., 260 µm thick) layer and electrode (platinum) layers and driven by 1–4 V. The displacement measured vertically is 0.25 mm and tilting angle is 11.3°. The angular motion, which is more than 10°, is a good advantage in the field of display module. A method of stepwise benchmarking for inefficient DMUs based on the proximity-based target selection

DEA is a useful nonparametric method of measuring the relative efficiency of a DMU and yielding a reference target for an inefficient DMU. However, it is very difficult for inefficient DMUs to be efficient by benchmarking a target DMU which has different input use. Identifying appropriate benchmarks based on the similarity of input endowment makes it easier for an inefficient DMU to imitate its target DMUs. But it is rare to find out a target DMU, which is both the most efficient and similar in input endowments, in real situation. Therefore, it is necessary to provide an optimal path to the most efficient DMU on the frontier through several times of a proximity-based target selection process. We propose a dynamic method of stepwise benchmarking for inefficient DMUs to improve their efficiency gradually.The empirical study is conducted to compare the performance between the proposed method and the prior methods with a dataset collected from Canadian Bank branches. The comparison result shows that the proposed method is very practical to obtain a gradual improvement for inefficient DMUs while it assures to reach frontier eventually. 相似文献

Case-based reasoning (CBR) is one of the most popular prediction techniques in medical domains because it is easy to apply, has no possibility of overfitting, and provides a good explanation for the output. However, it has a critical limitation – its prediction performance is generally lower than other AI techniques like artificial neural networks (ANN). In order to obtain accurate results from CBR, effective retrieval and matching of useful prior cases for the problem is essential, but it is still a controversial issue to design a good matching and retrieval mechanism for CBR systems. In this study, we propose a novel approach to enhance the prediction performance of CBR. Our suggestion is the simultaneous optimization of feature weights, instance selection, and the number of neighbors that combine using genetic algorithms (GA). Our model improves the prediction performance in three ways – (1) measuring similarity between cases more accurately by considering relative importance of each feature, (2) eliminating useless or erroneous reference cases, and (3) combining several similar cases represent significant patterns. To validate the usefulness of our model, this study applied it to a real-world case for evaluating cytological features derived directly from a digital scan of breast fine needle aspirate (FNA) slides. Experimental results showed that the prediction accuracy of conventional CBR may be improved significantly by using our model. This paper presents a practical advanced analysis software which can be used for nonlinear inelastic analysis of space steel structures. The software employs the stability functions and the refined plastic hinge model to minimize modeling and computational time. The generalized displacement control method is adopted to solve the nonlinear equilibrium equations. This algorithm can accurately trace the equilibrium path of the nonlinear problem with multiple limit points and snap-back points. A user-friendly graphic interface of the software is developed to facilitate the modeling process and result interpretation of the problem. Several numerical examples are presented to verify the accuracy and computational efficiency of the proposed software by comparing the results predicted by the present software with those given by the ABAQUS and other available results. 相似文献

We present a novel, compact bounding volume hierarchy, TSS BVH, for ray tracing subdivision surfaces computed by the Catmull‐Clark scheme. We use Tetrahedron Swept Sphere (TSS) as a bounding volume to tightly bound limit surfaces of such subdivision surfaces given a user tolerance. Geometric coordinates defining our TSS bounding volumes are implicitly computed from the subdivided mesh via a simple vertex ordering method, and each level of our TSS BVH is associated with a single distance bound, utilizing the Catmull‐Clark scheme. These features result in a linear space complexity as a function of the tree depth, while many prior BVHs have exponential space complexity. We have tested our method against different benchmarks with path tracing and photon mapping. We found that our method achieves up to two orders of magnitude of memory reduction with a high culling ratio over the prior AABB BVH methods, when we represent models with two to four subdivision levels. Overall, our method achieves three times performance improvement thanks to these results. These results are acquired by our theorem that rigorously computes our TSS bounding volumes. 相似文献

In this paper, we propose a method to jointly transfer the color and detail of multiple source images to a target video or image. Our method is based on a probabilistic segmentation scheme using Gaussian mixture model (GMM) to divide each source image as well as the target video frames or image into soft regions and determine the relevant source regions for each target region. For detail transfer, we first decompose each image as well as the target video frames or image into base and detail components. Then histogram matching is performed for detail components to transfer the detail of matching regions from source images to the target. We propose a unified framework to perform both color and detail transforms in an integrated manner. We also propose a method to maintain consistency for video targets, by enforcing consistent region segmentations for consecutive video frames using GMM-based parameter propagation and adaptive scene change detection. Experimental results demonstrate that our method automatically produces consistent color and detail transferred videos and images from a set of source images. 相似文献

Recently, various autonomous mobile robots have been developed for practical use. To support the coexistence of robots and humans in real environments, we propose a concept named ‘Region with Velocity Constraints (RVC),’ which is set around hazardous areas. RVCs are regions where the velocities of the robot are constrained to predefined values. Inside the RVCs, the robot has to reduce its translational velocity to avoid predicted hazards such as collisions with obstacles, and to reduce its rotational velocity to prevent undesirable motions such as sharp turns. We also propose a motion planning method for navigating the mobile robot in an environment with RVCs based on the Navigation Function and Global Dynamic Window Approach. Our method generates a trajectory satisfying both translational and rotational velocity constraints to be compatible with the surroundings. In this paper, a combined scheme of edge-based smoothed finite element method (ES-FEM) and node-based smoothed finite element method (NS-FEM) for triangular Reissner–Mindlin flat shells is developed to improve the accuracy of numerical results. The present method, named edge/node-based S-FEM (ENS-FEM), uses a gradient smoothing technique over smoothing domains based on a combination of ES-FEM and NS-FEM. A discrete shear gap technique is incorporated into ENS-FEM to avoid shear-locking phenomenon in Reissner–Mindlin flat shell elements. For all practical purpose, we propose an average combination (aENS-FEM) of ES-FEM and NS-FEM for shell structural problems. We compare numerical results obtained using aENS-FEM with other existing methods in the literature to show the effectiveness of the present method. 相似文献
