An additive reagent was introduced into a water glass binder system for enhancing the mechanical properties and dimension stability of a casting mold, and for improving the surface quality of a cast product. Two different processes with three different additive reagents were employed to investigate the relation between fracture strength of the mold and water (H2O) existed in the mold. In processes I and II, the mold samples were coated with a water glass binder, and then dipped into different solutions with additive reagent after and before carbon dioxide (CO2) hardening, respectively. The fracture strength of the mold was enhanced by reducing H2O content in the mold, achieved by a hydrolysis reaction of additive reagents. In process I, the H2O movement was restricted in the mold by the solid phase, converted from the water glass during CO2 hardening. When employing process II, especially in the TEOS used as additive reagent, the fracture strength was significantly increased due to the effective reduction of H2O content in the mold and the homogeneous generation of glass phase by a sol–gel reaction of the additives.  相似文献

Inorganic powder electroluminescence (IPEL) devices with the insertion of a carbon nanotube (CNT) layer were investigated to verify the effect of the increased local field produced by CNTs on electroluminescence (EL). To increase the field strength effectively, the CNTs were shortened using the cryogenic crushing method. IPEL devices with the insertion of a short CNT layer exhibited an increase in brightness and efficiency with increasing amount of CNTs. The local field enhancement by CNTs, further enlarged by the triple-junction, could increase the field strength applied to the phosphor, resulting in improved EL performance. In addition, short CNTs in an EL device can lead to field enhancement without an unintentional current flowing into the device.  相似文献

Hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) and aluminum oxinitride (AlON) composites were synthesized by combustion reaction of powder mixtures of Al–B2O3–AlN systems under a low pressure of nitrogen gas (0.5 MPa). Explosive combustion reaction of Al–B2O3 systems under the same nitrogen pressure produced alumina, aluminum borate, AlN, and AlON depending on the binary mixing ratio, but no trace of BN phases could be identified. Most of the elemental boron product remained unreacted and amorphous. On the other hand, AlN addition as a diluent in the range of 15–30 wt% was effective in producing hBN phase and forming AlON–BN composites. In the composition range of the ternary mixture of Al, B2O3, and AlN, where significant BN formation was identified, the primary role of AlN was to react with B2O3 to produce BN and α-Al2O3. The temperature profile obtained during the combustion reaction by a thermocouple imbedded in the middle of the powder bed revealed that the initial nitridation reaction of aluminum metal provides the heat required for the combustion reaction, creating a state of a "chemical oven." The reaction product, α-Al2O3, reacted subsequently with AlN to produce AlON phases to give final AlON–BN composites. The combustion reaction was highly unstable and followed a mixed mode with a regularly reversing spinning mode for aluminum nitridation reaction in the surface region and an oscillatory mode for the BN formation reaction in the subsurface region.  相似文献

In order to verify the integrity of the first wall (FW) of the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER), especially for preparing its qualification program by ITER-O, Be/Cu/SS mock-ups, which were the same size as the qualification mock-ups, were fabricated and tested at the TSEFEY, an e-beam facility, in Efremov, Russia. These mock-ups were joined with a 316 L austenitic stainless steel (SS316L) block for a structural material, CuCrZr for a heat sink material and SS316L tubes for a coolant and then, joined with three Be tiles for an armor material. A hot isostatic pressing (HIP) was used as manufacturing methods at a 1050 °C, 100 MPa for 2 h for a Cu/SS joining and at a 580 °C, 100 MPa for 2 h for a Be/(Cu/SS) joining. Two mock-ups were fabricated by using 1 μmCr/10 μmCu of an interlayer between the Be tile and Cu block. The high heat flux (HHF) tests were performed at 1.5 and 2.0 MW/m2 heat fluxes for each mock-up. The given conditions and the expected fatigue lifetime were evaluated from a preliminary analysis with ANSYS. Both mock-ups survived for up to 1000 and 268 cycles at 1.5 and 2.0 MW/m2 heat fluxes, respectively. They are higher than the expected numbers of cycles to a failure.  相似文献

Forschungszentrum Jülich has taken over the design, manufacturing and assembly of the superconducting busbar system for the stellarator Wendelstein 7-X. This includes the busbars itself, the support structure consisting of supports and clamps, and the joints for electrical and hydraulic connection of the busbars and coil terminals. Apart from providing the required electrical connection scheme, the busbar system has to be designed for relevant electrical and mechanical loads. Numerous interfaces and geometric boundary conditions define the confined space to accommodate the busbars and their support elements. This article describes how the individual challenges to engineering have been met in the course of the project. This includes design concepts and the method for iterative design of supports with respect to the individual load distribution caused by the supports itself.  相似文献

Listeria monocytogenes (Lm) bacterial ghosts (LMGs) were produced by the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of HCl, H2SO4, and NaOH. Acid and alkali effects on the LMGs were compared by in vitro and in vivo analyses. Scanning electron microscope showed that all chemicals form lysis pores on the Lm cell envelopes. Real-time qPCR revealed a complete absence of genomic DNA in HCl- and H2SO4-induced LMGs but not in NaOH-induced LMGs. HCl-, H2SO4- and NaOH-induced LMGs showed weaker or missing protein bands on SDS-PAGE gel when compared to wild-type Lm. Murine macrophages exposed to the HCl-induced LMGs showed higher cell viability than those exposed to NaOH-induced LMGs or wild-type Lm. The maximum level of cytokine expression (TNF-α, iNOS, IFN-γ, and IL-10 mRNA) was observed in the macrophages exposed to NaOH-induced LMGs, while that of IL-1β mRNA was observed in the macrophages exposed to HCl-induced LMGs. To investigate LMGs as a vaccine candidate, mice were divided into PBS buffer-injected, HCl- and NaOH-induced LMGs immunized groups. Mice vaccinated with HCl- and NOH-induced LMGs, respectively, significantly increased in specific IgG antibodies, bactericidal activities of serum, and CD4+ and CD8+ T-cell population. Antigenic Lm proteins reacted with antisera against HCl- and NOH-induced LMGs, respectively. Bacterial loads in HCl- and NaOH-induced LMGs immunized mice were significantly lower than PBS-injected mice after virulent Lm challenges. It suggested that vaccination with LMGs induces both humoral and cell-mediated immune responses and protects against virulent challenges.  相似文献

A large number of studies have focused on the role of substance P (SP) and the neurokinin-1 receptor (NK1R) in the pathogenesis of a variety of medical conditions. This review provides an overview of the role of the SP-NK1R pathway in the pathogenesis of musculoskeletal disorders and the evidence for its role as a therapeutic target for these disorders, which are major public health problems in most countries. To summarize, the brief involvement of SP may affect tendon healing in an acute injury setting. SP combined with an adequate conjugate can be a regenerative therapeutic option in osteoarthritis. The NK1R antagonist is a promising agent for tendinopathy, rheumatoid arthritis, and osteoarthritis. Research on the SP-NK1R pathway will be helpful for developing novel drugs for osteoporosis.  相似文献

Food-grade titanium dioxide (TiO2) is a common and widespread food additive in many processed foods, personal care products, and other industrial categories as it boosts the brightness and whiteness of colours. Although it is generally recognised as safe for humans, there is a growing interest in the health risks associated with its oral intake. This study quantified and identified TiO2 nanoparticles present in confectionery foods, which are children’s favourite foods, with inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). A reliable digestion method using hot sulphuric acid and a digestion catalyst (K2SO4:CuSO4 = 9:1) was suggested for titanium analysis. Validations of the experimental method were quite acceptable in terms of linearity, recoveries, detection limits, and quantification limits. Of all the 88 analysed foods, TiO2 was detected in 19 products, all except three declared TiO2 in their labelling. The mean TiO2 content of candies, chewing gums, and chocolates were 0.36 mg g?1, 0.04 mg g?1, and 0.81 mg g?1, respectively. Whitish particles isolated from the confectionery foods were confirmed as TiO2 nanoparticles via TEM and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), in which nanosized particles (<100 nm) were identified.  相似文献
