This article uses decomposition method to analyse industrial electricity consumption in North-Western Russia, namely in Archangelsk oblast, the Republic of Karelia and Murmansk oblast. The case sectors, forestry and electricity, have in most cases developed similarly in the chosen regions during 1990–2001. The decomposition analysis shows that the reduction of economic activity has reduced electricity consumption in all three regions but that it is not always the main factor reducing consumption. The changes in energy efficiency increased consumption in the forestry sector in all regions while in the electricity sector it led to a reduction. The changes in the structures of the regional economies increased electricity consumption in electricity industry which gained importance due to developments in the manufacturing industry. In Murmansk, forestry sector has almost disappeared during the observation period. This was the main observed electricity consumption reduction caused by structural changes. Many of the developments can be better understood against the general knowledge of transition factors.  相似文献

Thin film bulk acoustic wave (BAW) resonators (FBAR) are fabricated on a silicon nitride bridge using a ZnO piezolayer on a glass substrate and surface micromachining by standard thin film technology. These resonators exhibit a coupling constant k/sub t//sup 2/=7.8% at the first thickness extensional wave mode and are used as impedance elements in a ladder filter in the 1-GHz frequency band of mobile telecommunications. An electrical equivalent circuit is used to characterize the properties of the resonators and to show how the performance of the filter depends on the parameters of the resonators. 2.5% bandwidth, 2.8-dB insertion loss, and 35-dB selectivity are obtained in a filter with six resonators. The technology can be used to manufacture miniature microwave filters without any additional inductances.  相似文献

The problem of weight initialization in multilayer perceptron networks is considered. A new computationally simple weight initialization method based on the usage of reference patterns is presented. A reference pattern is a vector which is used to represent data points that fall in its vicinity in the data space. On one hand, the proposed method aims to set the initial weight values to be such that inputs to network nodes are within the active region (in other words, nodes are not saturated). On the other hand, the goal is to distribute the discriminant functions formed by the hidden units evenly into the input space area where training data is located. The proposed method is tested with the widely used two-spirals classification benchmark problem and channel equalization problem where several alternatives for obtaining suitable reference patterns are investigated. Also, the effect of the initialization is studied when two commonly used cost functions are used in the training phase. These are the mean square error and relative entropy cost functions. A comparison with the conventional random initialization shows that significant improvement in convergence can be achieved with the proposed method. In addition, the computational cost of the initialization was found to be negligible compared with the cost of training.  相似文献

This paper addresses the limits of net discourse in virtual communities. I will analyse incidents of death that shattered the 'rhetorical vision' of one particular virtual community, Xena: Warrior Palace. The observations will trace some characteristics of the community's vision of itself, how vulnerable that vision can be and how it can be maintained or revised after some unexpected occurrence shatters it. I argue that even though the rhetorical vision of virtual community can be imagined, it has to stay in touch with the 'real world' in order to have real influence on constructed online culture.  相似文献

The methanol crossover and other mass transfer phenomena have been investigated in a free-breathing direct methanol fuel cell (DMFC). The current distribution profile along the MeOH flow channel was measured and information of local concentrations of the reacting species was obtained. The DMFC with a segmented cathode was found to be very useful for a detailed analysis of the interrelated parameters, which cause the local variations of the cell current. The connections between different operating parameters were clarified in detail for two different membranes. The measurements were done for both an experimental poly(vinylidene fluoride)-graft-poly(styrene sulfonic acid) (PVDF-g-PSSA) membrane and the commercial Nafion® 117 membrane, which have different methanol permeabilities. The MeOH concentration and the flow rate were varied in a wide range in order to determine their optimum values. The deviations from an even current density distribution were observed to increase as a function of MeOH concentration and decrease as a function of temperature. The power production of a free-breathing DMFC was observed to be proportional to the local oxygen concentration at the cathode side and inadequate air convection together with the MeOH crossover phenomenon was observed to decrease the cell performance locally.  相似文献

A system for assisting in microneurosurgical training and for delivering interactive mixed reality surgical experience live was developed and experimented in hospital premises. An interactive experience from the neurosurgical operating theater was presented together with associated medical content on virtual reality eyewear of remote users. Details of the stereoscopic 360‐degree capture, surgery imaging equipment, signal delivery, and display systems are presented, and the presence experience and the visual quality questionnaire results are discussed. The users reported positive scores on the questionnaire on topics related to the user experience achieved in the trial.  相似文献

Dielectric elastomer actuators (DEAs) have been studied widely in recent years for artificial muscle applications, but their implementation into production is limited due to high operating voltages required. The actuation behavior of dielectric elastomer under an applied electric field is predicted by Maxwell's pressure and thickness strain equations. According to these equations, the best electromechanical response is achieved when the relative permittivity is high and elastic modulus is low. The potential source for additives increasing the relative permittivity of rubbers can be vegetable powders that have much higher dielectric constant than common elastomers. In the present research, the dielectric and actuation properties of polyacrylate rubber (ACM) were studied after the addition of different vegetable‐based fillers such as potato starch, corn starch, garlic, and paprika. The results were compared to ACM filled with barium titanate. The compounds containing vegetable fillers showed higher relative dielectric permittivity at 1 Hz frequency than the compounds containing barium titanate due to higher interfacial polarization. The actuation studies showed that lower electric fields are required to generate certain actuation forces when the starches and garlic are used in the rubber instead of barium titanate.
